I looks neat as fuck, and adult swim games has yet to disappoint me.

It's trash. Movement is slow and clunky, weapons aren't very satisfying, and the enemies are awful to fight.
Imagine every enemy being Quake 1 death knights that deal constant damage with poorly telegraphed sword swings- that's Desync.

There's tons of enemy types beyond the starting melee guys.

I got up to when it started throwing the golden guys with the longswords. Honestly it's just not fun.
I know I shouldn't expect much from an indie game after playing Quake and UT, but everything felt stiff and the stuff that makes the game challenging felt more annoying than anything.

You die ultra fast to most of the stuff. The worst part is getting stuck on a wall or grazing spikes and then dodging backwards into a fucking hammer swing.
The enemies need more sounds or tells I think. When it starts throwing a lot of enemies at me it feels more annoying than I thought it would, especially when I've played stuff like Serious Sam on higher difficulties and have no trouble with it.

It's not Quake. It's not UT or Quake, it's slower pace and based around combos. You gotta learn to pull off them neat combos to get treats. Each combo rewards you with different stuff. It's not just running around in circles blasting everything, you gotta be aware of your surroundings and think ahead of time on how you're going to combo the enemies.

Eh, I'll try giving it the full two hours before I decide whether or not to refund.
So far it just doesn't "click" with me. I was itching for a fast paced arena-ish shooter, not a slower 3D version of Hotline Miami.
I wish the weapons had more oomph to them too. They all feel bland so far.

Hm. I think you should get the refund then, if it's not clicking with you, and get Devil Daggers. It's exactly what you're looking for.

I'll keep trying for a bit, it is a good game for wanting to improve upon your performance, I'll give it that.
Devil Daggers is alright but really limited. It oozes style but one weapon and essentially the whole game being one big endless survival stage is a letdown when it has potential to be so much more.

I hope Strafe, Dusk, and whatever that Doomish rougelite fps is called ends up alright.
