>friend told me to play this >looks weeb and the characters look 10
Has a really interesting story about how we percieve reality and dreams. Amazing music, great art design for environments, gameplay that changes from turn based to action.
my complaints is the animu weeb art style, the chunks of reading that you can't skip
when this was happening i didn't know what the fuck was going on
Adrian Perez
is this the fucking JRPG where you play as chopin
Connor Wilson
Yes. It's pretty good.
Luis Parker
yeah i dont care about music much but the gameplay and story was great
Wyatt Taylor
Eternal Sonata was great, but it's not really a 2deep4u, the plot is quite straightforward.
For a good game that requires interpretation, play OFF.
I liked the Serial Experiments Lain video game, if you can call it a video game, but it does require you to be able to read Japanese.
Eli Hernandez
Yup, it was great.
Robert Powell
i loved how there was so many party members to choose from. i feel like recently jrpgs have been kinda stingy with cast sizes?
having to take pictures during battle with that kid and selling them for money was retarded though
Nathaniel Sullivan
off is just tedious as fuck cant imagine how anyone would like it id rather go for LISA
Andrew Morris
All Ice Pick Lodge games so far. Pathologic - great setting, fucked up translation, I'm dying for some reason beyond me after day or two, russian cutscene doesn't help to get whats going on either. Backed up remake, we'll see. The Void - great setting, fucked up design of monstrous Brothers cute vampiric waifus, insane difficulity, I love it and played it for days, but I dont pretend that I understand this rough diamond. Knock-Knock - Kinda the same, I love the game and atmosphere, but what the hell should I do? Do i need to lit all the lights in home? Should I hide when the eye appears in the wall? Damn. I'm gonna play it some more to figure it out.
Dylan Reyes
>I can't imagine how anyone would like it Music is great art is great atmosphere is great story is great
I'll grant that some parts of the gameplay are pretty annoying though. Like that library puzzle with all the random encounters.
Noah Gutierrez
yeah iam just talking about the gameplay here
LISA has all of this combined and good gameplay
Oliver Martin
Pathologic was great up until the true ending which ruined the entire experience. OP some other games you might like are Xenogears which goes into some dark shit. Also you have Shadow of Memories which is still the best time travel story ever told.
William Foster
Fuck dude I still think about LISA the painful and the things it made me feel while playing it blind my first time. The music, gameplay, art, story, it all came together to form something so fucking unique and memorable.
Sebastian Nelson
true even though i despise the creator of this game but sometimes you have to see art and artist differently
Carter Anderson
it scratched an itch that i never knew i had and caused it to persist, and now i dont know if ill ever satisfy it again
Grayson Perry
Sounds like I should play this game. I've managed to avoid spoilers.
I like OFF and Yume Nikki, so I do have a penchant for indie games.
Aaron Mitchell
i didnt like how dunkey made it look like a game that just tries to piss you off or annoy you and all those kids in the comments screaming undertale was even more cancerous
Aiden Young
I beg to partially disagree: the story is way too simple for a JRPG (even with the big twist at the end), it doesn't give enough scope or lorebuilding for the dreamworld to be believable enough, some characters range from underdeveloped (Viola) to borderline retarded (looking at you, Crescendo) and near the end the game just gives up. The PS3 version tried to fix most of the problems, but the end result is still subpar, sadly. Gameplay is a fuckton of fun though and the soundtrack is GOAT. I also enjoyed the bits where the game explained the life of Chopin with his most famous pieces in the background. In the end, i just wish more games with this gameplay style were made, even if they're not necessarely tied to the world of composers.
Evan Peterson
I dont think that Klonoas story is really deep but i just really enjoy the concept of it and how such a simple premise (catboy having adventures in dreams) can become so dark like holy fuck if i played that game as a kid the ending would have most likely made me depressed
Jace Ward
Yeah it's a game that you need to play to really get the experience out of it. There's nothing else like it and I don't think there will ever be.
Parker Rogers
well atleast more people now know about it and might try it out so i cant really be mad about it either
Daniel Reed
>weeb
Why do people who hate japanese stuff even come to this website?
Jace Sanders
iam a weeb myself and even i know that weebs can be annoying as fuck sometimes and need to be put to their place same goes to weebhaters
Adrian Flores
I just associate a lot of self-called weebs with really poor taste or standards.
Parker Price
OP here I dont hate Japanese stuff, I learned japanese to play games but even then i have standards. I'll play it if the game is alright even if its something like atelier if it had amazing gameplay and stuff is look past it for the game play.
Still would cringe at the overly Moe lesbian stuff.
Jonathan Torres
i know exactly what you mean and you sir are an alright person
Ryder Ward
I remembered the ending was like an hour long and the credits running two times plus a cartoon about a caterpillar and snail
