>"The plan all along has been for one core game followed by two stacking standalone expansions, and the devs say they’re stuck well into the second part. "
>As for non-fantasy Total War, Bartholomew said:
>“Meanwhile, our historical team are also working on a major triple-A title in an era we’ve not visited yet. Over 1.2 million people play Total War every month, with the majority playing our previous games. We haven’t forgotten that.”
"And with Bretonnia, we’re bringing our time in the Old World to a close. Production on the sequel to TW: Warhammer has been underway for some time already and is now a key focus for the studio."
It just means they are going to do the expansion shit, like they did with other games. Calling it a new game allows them to overprice the shit, like always. Its just going to be the other parts of the world.
Jonathan Roberts
Fucking jews, holy shit. Why just not call the two new planned Warhammer titles expansions? Why the fuck do they insist on calling them new games, if they're going to be integrated into the original Warhammer?
Dylan Rivera
>Why the fuck do they insist on calling them new games So they can charge full price for it. That's just what CA likes to do with expansions.
Nicholas Fisher
>all these little goys on Sup Forums saying "b-but its good" lmao buy good edition for 59.99$
Bentley Parker
Expect the CPY crack soon™ then
I wonder what era is the historical team working on though, since it is not going to be Medieval 3
Nathaniel Hall
>bought it for 12 dollars >pirated all the expansions >best combat in any total war yet >diverse factions that are interesting and unique
I'm having fun. One of the best games I've played in awhile, I know it's expensive but nobody said you had to pay for all of it. If you know what you're doing the game doesn't have to cost that much.
Andrew Gonzalez
Well they say it's an era they haven't visited, my guess is either Victorian or Pike and Shot, though I can't see the AI handling Pike and shot tactics that well at all.
Of course since it won't have map modding it'll join Empire, Napoleon and Rome 2 in the "can only mod in period units" category.
what now? late absolutism era? 1870 franco prussian war time?
Evan Miller
Grim and the grave and king and the warlord are the only decent paid DLC anyway.
Benjamin Evans
>Total Warhammer DLC ended with Bretonnia as devs switch to sequel
I read this as >If we nickle and dime you cunts with all the races that GW has, even in their main range, you'd stop buying them fast. So we'll just repurpose those assests into the next game that is only going to be our planned expansions but sold in a package which also gives us time to fix the game breaking bugs and nothing else.
It'll be Rome 2, but in 6 months and with even more bugs. Here's the other Elves, the Lizards, and game breaking everything else. Enjoy. BTW We've got expansion packs for all the subfactions that we didn't put out first game.
Lucas Stewart
hmmm that doesn't sound like woodelves...
Owen Davis
Don't know how you read it as that considering that Warhammer was released with almost no bugs in comparison to fucking Rome 2. I have faith this time around, obviously they're a bunch of jews though. But to say it's going to be a buggy piece of shit.. I don't know if I can agree with you.
Jose Torres
not like warhammer fans arent used to being fucked in the ass financially by their franchises
Christian Reed
It's pretty bad when I won't spend 12 bucks on a game entirely because of the DLC practices.
Cameron Adams
>almost no bugs in comparison to fucking Rome 2 The only thing that was worse was Big Rigs.
While that is hyperbole the base-game was a complete shitshow that really hurt their name and their branding.
I have faith in CA, but they're a subsidiary so they can have all the artistic direction and integrity they want, but if sega tells them to sell "Rome 3, fucking a goat simulator" they have to make it.
Hudson Baker
Goeebles the tree and Elfin Hitler don't particularly interest me. Though rolling up with irondrakes is satisfying.
>I have faith >in CA You'll believe anything then.
Jack Carter
And what exactly makes them not new games?
Henry Powell
Or anyone really.
Adrian Sullivan
Napoleon, FOTS, and Attila launched at lower than full price you mongoloid.
Brayden Hernandez
>goeebles Did you mean Goebbels? If you did can you enlighten me as to what you're talking about because it's intriguing me.
Jeremiah Turner
I don't understand the problem
they said all along that this is their plan, and they've delivered on what they said this first game was going to be.
now they're going to release the next part of the trilogy which just stacks onto what we've already got, and then there'll be another that adds even more.
like, what were you expecting? just to have Elves drop in one day or something? They finally made all the races in this game playable with very different playstyles.
Jaxson Campbell
Does this mean we're finally getting China?
Benjamin Evans
they literally say theyre working on a sequel all they want is more money another 60$ for jew workshop
>skaven >tomb >elf >dark elf >ogree
Luke Kelly
They announced the series would come in three installments a year before the game launched, where the fuck have you been?
Cooper Hall
ITT: clueless faggots prepare your wallets for another 40-60 $
Caleb Williams
Tell me something and I bet you I won't believe it.
Charles Martinez
He just mentioned Durthu the notorious tree hitler who hates elves and fucks faces of everyone around Athel Loren. The new patch is supposed to tone down the aggression of fay folk a bit, though.
Matthew Russell
Sitting around shitposting with my head up my ass like the majority of Sup Forums. What kind of question is that? You new?
Brandon Jenkins
>pirated all the expansions
how?, asking for a friend
Jeremiah Johnson
Who you gonna play as senpai. Don't tell me you aren't a lizard kind of guy.
Brayden Lewis
they said era not a location. its either late absolutism (1850+ - 1914) or protohistory (ancient egypt andtigris-eufrates earliest civilizations)
Bentley Hall
The only clueless faggots here are the ones who apparently didn't figure out until now that this was their plan all along and they've said as much.
Wyatt Thomas
>Did you mean Goebbels? Yes, spastic fingers at work there.
And the reason is that, prior to this patch, the wood elves had a ridiculously high aggression and no aversion to chaos, meaning they exterminated half the map if left unchecked by the player, backstabbed everyone when the invasion event happens, and actually ally with Chaos.
I thought they were going to get all the races out? So they fucked up?
Jack Sanders
So apart from the "work with chaos" they got their wood elves right it sounds like. Those mad cunts hated everything including themselves.
Kevin Price
They claimed in the past that all three games will be able to combine the campaign maps.
Dylan Miller
Wait hang on, so let's say they release Skaven or some other race that's not in this game, we're going to have to wait for a brand new fucking game and not just an expansion? Why. Fuck off.
William Perez
they're still releasing the old friend you stupid ass
Andrew Cooper
they said before the first installment even came out that the full game is a trilogy of titles that combine together.
Ryder Turner
The game is fucking shit and a mess. Super casual starting units and immediate enemies make every campaign play out exactly the same. Archeon is barely even a threat, half the factions die before you can even see them.
I got two playthroughs out of it before it became completely stale.
Kevin Anderson
Because they are stand-alone. You will be able to play them all by themselves without buying the first game, OR combine them with the first game to make one giant mega-campaign map.
Hudson Gomez
Bet you play CK2
Mason Sullivan
are you retarded or just not read the thread?
it's 2 big expansions that are the size of standalone titles.
Benjamin Sullivan
It's going to be a standalone expansion in all but name
Christian Rodriguez
Looks like its just made up shit. Like the interview in the OP confirmed, because the next thing is an expansion/new game, not 3 more DLCs.
Austin Martin
Future tech.
Kevin Nelson
Also the graphics have gone steadily downhill since shogun 2.
David Phillips
Even just the base game without any DLC is worth 300+ hours of gameplay.
I'll gladly pay for huge standalone expansions.
Ryan Russell
Expansion implies you need the base game to play when these will be standalone, like FOTS was for shogun 2
Blake Torres
yes
Kevin Diaz
>Super casual starting units and immediate enemies make every campaign play out exactly the same
what are you talking about, you have to go for specific settlements as each race, of course you're not starting a new campaign saying "oh shit this time as Empire I'm gonna conquer the Badlands!!"
Adam Anderson
no, try reading the article
Camden Howard
They are standalone expansions. Each one will expand the campaign map drastically and add more factions.
You can buy just the expansion, or just the base game. Or you can buy them both and combine them into one mega-campaign map.
David Phillips
After playing as the french in the new patch, it seems like wood elves don't confederate the entire forest in three turns around turn 20, in fact they don't fucking confederate at all unless it only starts at the end times event.
All wood elves factions also seem to never leave the forest as well considering I've never seen them capture a city even though they are at war at pretty much all times although it helps not having an 8 stack army when the ai just turtles.
Christian Scott
Hopefully.
Isaiah Ross
And why not? It all plays out the same it's boring.
Ayden Edwards
Dwarfs and vampires are the only factions that applies to now, and even then the dwarfs have quite a few ways the mid game can go. Empire and orc games in particular are incredibly unpredictable at the moment.
Julian Campbell
>Why You'd have to rewrite game code for the skaven to be represented properly, or else you'd have a horde army like the beastmen that wouldn't fit the theme or style of the rats. They're too different in means and ways on the over-world to work, in a skirmish or battle you could do it.
Dylan Morris
Read you stupid nigger. Why is Sup Forums incapable of reading.
James Flores
The graphics in TWW are better than in any previous TW.
Cameron Davis
It's very likely then, that their plan is to do a different region rather than bring the other factions into the Imperial region. My guess is we'll see the high elf/dark elf lands next
Joshua Powell
as it should be Wood Elves were Nazi Germany who would ally with Chaos and take lebensraum from every bordering faction regardless of their allegiances, i'm glad that shit got toned down.
Jaxson Powell
Anyone who says each faction's campaign plays the same is either a fucking moron or they haven't played the game/more than one campaign.
Carson Wright
>best combat in any total war yet Is this bait? It's the worst total war I've played. Sure, there are some unit variety, but literally no tactics involved, no special unit abilities, no formation, not even loose fucking formation, no naval combat, horrible sieges. Worst 12 dollars ever spent.
Levi Hernandez
>tomb kings might not be coming for years
Now I'm mad.
Jordan Ortiz
>t. hasn't played more than one campaign neck yourself
Samuel Miller
That was their plan from the start. Lustria/Naggaroth will be one game, Southlands/chaos the other.
Ryder Morales
Wasn't it leaked ages ago that it's supposed to be Elves + Lizards + Skaven?
Luis Williams
because it was never boring replaying the same nations in previous total wars?
I don't get your complaint. The best thing about this game is you can dump 50 hours into one campaign then go play another race and they're so incredibly different that you have to learn all battle strategies, new gameplay systems and building trees, and conquering a totally different part of the map. It's THE freshest Total War game to go back and play immediately after finishing one campaign.
Jose Bell
You forgot to mention its also based on an outdated tabletop ""game"" that is dying so hard they had to literally reset the world.
John Ross
>nigger >incapable of reading.
Ryan Anderson
last i saw the next setup was kangs, rats, chaos dorfs and ogres
Isaac Cruz
next expansion is
>dark elves vs high elves >skaven clan pestilens vs lizardmen >ogree vs chaos dwarfs >nagash vs tomb kings
Jeremiah Wood
>no special unit abilities
You haven't played this game.
>Formations
Bretonnia has a formation.
>No naval combat
Has always been average at best in TW. There's signs they may add naval combat in future expansions though.
>horrible sieges
Were always horrible in TW.
It literally has the best combat of any TW.
>literally no tactics
Don't blame the game for you being a bad player who doesn't use tactics.
Adrian Baker
Yeah, but the leak had them coming before the first "expansion", which they clearly aren't now.
Oliver Williams
>mfw playing Ogres in multiplayer and making kids buttblasted that 20 big guys wiped out their massive army
Charles Cooper
hol up
Leo Ross
To fix the flaws on the core game while adding more? While I'm yet to play Total Warhammer myself I heard a lot of complains about Chaos wave arriving to early.
Jackson Gomez
That shit is coming out next year at the latest. They have two teams working on the next warham and next historical simultaneously, and historically they've shit out a new game every other year on average.
Nicholas Sanchez
HOL UP
WEN WUZ EGYPTIANS BLEACHED BONE HIGHLIGHTED WITH SKULL WHITE N SHEEEEEEEEIIIIIT
Noah Allen
There's a big guide for it man. I don't have it bookmarked. I'm very sorry. I'm sure someone has a link around here though. It wasn't very hard to do.
Lincoln Campbell
I hope they can replicate Thanquol's glorious backstabbing incompetence.
William King
OK so game 2 will probably be Ulthuan/Naggaroth/Lustria
With High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizards, and Skaven
there will probably be naval battles
And Game 3 will probably be Tomb Kangs, Ogres, Chaos Dwarves, and Araby (they were a full army at one time)
Daniel Jones
I've finished empire at least 3 times, dwarves twice, once as wood elves, once as VC. Every time it was the same, the game has a lot of flash but it's extremely shallow, especially the province management.
Tyler Wood
20 good big men?
Bretonnia is a sign that CA actually knows how to fix their problems, easily one of the funnest factions in the game so far.
Henry King
>tomb kings >at all It took GW how long? My only hope is that they see how pimp the new skeletons everywhere designs of skeleton scorpions, skeleton catapults, and ushabti and realise faster than GW that the tomb kings aren't necessarily Vampire Counts in the Sands. It hit the right vibe of satire/threatening to work.
Cooper Ward
GIMME THE MOTHERFUCKERS SKAVENS FFSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS WHERE IS FUTA SNAKE WHEN U NEED TO READ SOMETHING, REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Bentley Anderson
>skull white
Mah OG tabletop nigga
Aiden Russell
Goddamnit, user
Liam Turner
You could do literally whatever you wanted in any given campaign in previous total wars.
Luis Nelson
>still no naval battles
I don't give a shit if it's for retarded "lore" reasons, there's no excuse to cut something that has been part of the franchise for 6 games now.
Jace Fisher
Can't wait to have Neferata and Strygoi unique positions as well as coastal vampires in Lustria once the game is complete.
