There's no definition on what perfect implies, it's a hypothetical term.

Having a grading system with something being regarded as "perfect" makes no sense, because the highest score would be unobtainable and never used.

Look up any review site and check their scoring system, no one will state that 10 is perfect. At most they'll write "near perfect".

MGS5 is one of my favourite games ever, and there's no fucking way that's a 10/10. This entire list falls apart with Wind Waker getting a 10/10.

how does that make my logic flawed? if the maximum possible score in the scale isn't equal to perfect, than the scale itself is flawed. just because a scale has been used for decades doesn't mean it doesn't have any flaws. that's like saying it's good because it's popular.

yeah, it probably never will happen. but what's the difference between a 9.9 and a 10 anyway? can't hurt to have the smallest amount of leeway.

the point is to show that a game is as close to as perfect as possible. what's the point of having the 10 if you're just gonna hand it out like candy on halloween. it loses value. realistically the average score for all video games should be 5/10. but it's probably not, it's more like 7/10. so if 7/10 becomes the average, then that means that a 7/10 game has an equivalent score of 5/10. which then means a 10/10 game only has an equivalent score of 7.1/10.

Zelda is a KAMI/GOD game

The dungeons were also boring and the constant tutorials made it a slog.

The motion controls were actually fine though, the issue was that literally every enemy in the game required no strategy or skill besides waiting until their obvious tell and then slashing vertically or horizontally as required.

Also the shallow gameplay, the dumbed down design, the obnoxious amount of exposition and the fact it looked terrible for 2011

But yeah, like every other game Skyward Sword would be perfect if it weren't for all of its flaws

Just like in real lief if you took a course for classes and got 100/100, that doesnt mean youre are perfect, that means you understood the material that was presented to you. 10/10 is not a perfect and never will be considered as such as perfection is already a flawed ideology to begin with. Just like all point scores to grade materials such as games, movies, and books or any other creative medium, it serves to illustrate how much that person enjoyed said material in the first place, thus making the point system completely subjective. This why sites like IGN break thiers down while giving their opinion. Its not about "the perfect game" its about "how much enjoyment I got out of it".
