In games like Overwatch and League of Legends, you can actually get banned for bad-mouthing people.
They will outright permanently ban you just for flaming if you do it too much. Doesn't even have to be swearing. Enough reports = ban, no appeals.

Because videogames server moderators expect the same type of discourse they see out of their TV. Since most videogames are made in America, this means no swear words, no racist language, and no nudity or anything remotely implying sex or innuendo.

I used hacks/scripts on various popular games at the time in my pre-teen/young teen years and got banned across multiple accounts. I also knew many friends/people that did the same. Eventually I and most who do use hacks grow out of it and realize that you find more satisfaction from winning fair and square

That may be true for League but definitely not Overwatch.
My friend and I sometimes talk mad shit during games, we say some prettying damning stuff. We've been told that people are reporting us but nothing has happened. I don't know how the fuck you get banned from Overwatch besides cheating.

I know people who play on PC and have 5 different accounts. They have never answered me when I ask them why they would buy a game more than once.

overwatch has automatic silences that trigger entirely on reports.

When asked to review or reverse these silences, Blizzard Entertainment Game Masters reveal that they do not even see these reports, they happen automatically and last for a pre determined amount of time (24 hours then doubles every time from there)

Nobody has been banned from overwatch except for actually using Aimbots or hacks.

In competitive mode if you leave early six times repeatedly you get banned for the season, but the game still works and after 3 months you can play again.

The ones that hand out draconian bans are the ones that do not want outside fun. They want complete control of the environment because its more profitable for them through Esports/DLC/Microtransactions. The ones that don't have a financial interest don't give two flying fucks unless its very early in the games life and completely ruins the game like being able to bind "kill all" to a button.
