>tfw you'll look like a shill or a flavor-of-the-month bandwagoner if you post Hollow Knight

I played this long before i know what castlevania is.
Master of Spirits > AoS

Who Cardcaptor Nathan here?

gba right? I never knew how to use those cards when I was a kid

>playing magician with the all cards glitch
Shit was dope. Movement blew ass, tho. Took me from kindergarten to middleschool to actually beat it, so what do I know

Still not 100% completed
there's one collection room thing I still need to find

One of the best for sure. I wish the translation was better, though.

La-Mulana 2 FUCKING WHEN

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, most likely.

>There are people in this very same thread that don't own an original copy of SotN

you first.

Metroidvania refers to the Castlevania titles styled after Metroid. Metroidvania is not a genre, the genre is adventure platformer.

...

Playing this for the first time, regular movement is slow as balls but once you get double tap to run movement's all smooth sailing.

Nigga, check the thread

Farming this guy for the pentagram was a good time

sick reddit spacing my dude

Cant tell if srs...

>wikipedia
sick logic bruh. So answer me this, Metroid is a Metroidvania now right?
How the fuck does this make sense that a game that copied Metroid has Metroid inherit it's name.
bottom line, people who use Metroidvania are as retarded as people who called the PS1 a PSX

get this faggot ass cover out of here, real kirby is a badass.

>Pink and Red switch stances

>Metroid is a Metroidvania now right?
yes, it is
>How the fuck does this make sense
it does you're just getting assblasted for no apparent reason
>a game that copied Metroid has Metroid inherit it's name
it's its not it's, and it's not inheriting the name it's that the subgenre was born and named because of the ways metroid influenced it
>as retarded as people who called the PS1 a PSX
sick redirection and extra bait
bottom line, you're baked and need to take some fuckin xanax or something if you have this much of an aneurysm over game genres

I'm sorry user i just couldn't find any good images of the american box art I swear
of course kirby is cooler when angry and sword wielding, even I know something as s-simple as that

>Metroid is a Metroidvania now
Cool dude, when Metroid already had a genre. Adventure Platformer. All Metroidvanias are Adventure Platformers but not all Adventure Platformers are Metroidvanias because Metroidvania is ONLY for the Castlevania games styled like Metroid
>it makes sense
it does not because like I just stated, Metroid already had a genre LONG before SotN came out
>third point
Oh so now you are playing mental gymnastics with your first answer.
>last point
down to insults because you can't refute anything I see.

Metroidvania is not a genre. It is used to describe the castlevania games that took inspiration from Metroid. Any game that goes ahead and take inspiration from Metroidvanias as well are not Metroidvania unless if they specifically have castlevania i their title, they are all Adventure Platformers

not him but i've double spaced since before reddit was even a thing, pretty sure i picked it up from forums or something

...

is a shame Shaman king didn't get a lot of popularity it was a neat concept

Iga himself doesnt recognize 'metroidvania' in fact he said his games werent inspired by metroid perse. It was Zelda, the adventuring bits of it that inspired Sotns design.

Also it is now 'Igavania' =^]

...

>goes into SotN late into development
>blatantly lies when level-layout, ability upgrades, and even the map are directly ripped from Metroid
>dubs it be named in his name
that makes even less sense

that's ok, jesus will thank you in the end

Igavania refers to the castlevania that iga directored. Wouldn't adventure platformers be good?
