lmao PC-drone grafix whore
It's a 7/10 and I'm being extremely generous when I say that.
>empty plains that are essentially smudges of brown and green
>back to the 00s bloom shader
>has issues with frame rate
Bravo Nintendo.
Switch is so fucked, did they even bother to upgrade the specs over the shitty Wii U?
I'm having more fun with it than any zelda game since MM and and any other open world game this decade.
But seriously..that framerate.
Who thought this was acceptable?
I look forward to CEMU.
Just play in handheld
I'm on the wii u, ya fucking hoodrat.
Though, I'm sure the switch has issues as well.
Just a little bit
I don't mind until you get legitimate fucking pauses while attacking.
Seems to happen less in handheld mode.
at least you aren't playing the wii u version
like me
B-but I want to enjoy it on the big screen while at home
I have the spicy pepper but accidentally wasted the ingrediant at the old mans house for the cold resistent stuff.
How can I get more of it in the wild?
Switch tv mode looks like the most miserable experience. The thing can't handle the game at 900p who are they trying to fool
I am on the wii u, niggers
I've only had problems in a few towns.
I'm just sharing my own experience, faggot.
Works fine on my tv.
If you are playing on the switch. Turn down the resolution. the game doesn't look graphically impressive anyway.
Turning that shit down fixes alot of the frame rate issues.
Please help
another great review from someone who didnt play the game.
>and any other open world game this decade
Is this your first open world game, or what
Yeah, the frame rate issue being on both the Switch and Wii U is absurd. I don't know how they thought it was acceptable.
Fucking put fog for all I care. Don't fucking slow the frame rate.
I was worried about framerate then I remembered one of my top 25 game of all time Odin Sphere had dips into the single digits.
I guess framerate issues dont bother me if the rest of the game is good.
>Fucking put fog for all I care
They already did.
I think the blame isn't the specs of the Switch but the fact it's just a lazy port of a Wii U title, all the other games look so much better but we'll have to wait until release to see how much that holds. I'm hoping it's the case.
Put more. I don't give a shit about graphics. I just don't want lag in a fucking Zelda game.
How is the Wii U version in comparison to the switch?
its a portable handheld console, of course its gonna have shit specs
Could you explain why is it so good? Is there anything this game does, that no other rpg for the past few years ever done?
Not a trolling post, if people give this a 9 out of 10 and 90+ out of 100 it should be justified.
Graphically its nice but nothing otstanding, ability to climb things is a revolution if you only played bethesda games. Crafting and weapon degrade is in every second game now. And if the story is once again about link saving princess from evil ganondork i'll just laugh.
of course it is. what other games of the genre nintendrones have? xenofagot?
worse drawdistance, framerate, and aliasing
I literally have no idea. I assume people like the streamlined rune system and are just charmed by the graphics and music.
This is as someone who owns it and is enjoying it so far. It sn't a 10/10.
there's a bokgoblin camp somewhere (I think near the cold area) that is growing a lot of peppers
you can tell if it is the elevated wooden platform camp
The game is fun and all but fuck I wish it had some music
Yeah I can't give the game a legit 10/10 due to the graphics and performance issues, some framerate drops.
The game is great otherwise,
It just makes me wish Nintendo went 3rd party and made multiplat games. On a PC BotW would have proper AA, 60 FPS, and a lot more detail to its graphics.
And when it has music, it's pretty fucking underwhelming
Reviews are bullshit, come on user. Call of Duty gets 90+ for remaking the same game every year and so does Madden.
Innovation isn't something that needs to be considered in a review of a singular item.
I always assume reviews are aimed at someone whose only exposure to the series would be this game.
If the game they re-release its a 90+ game, what's the problem?
I know, got 3ds and ocarina to play the praised masterpiece and got a mediocore game (and i started playing games when tomb raider 1 was considered a breakthrough in visual tech), its fine, but not a 10\10 in any way, no matter released in 99 or 2011 (what drives me mad is a remake for 3ds from 2011, the same year witcher 2 and skyrym were released, this game gets higher ratings. it's just illogical.)
Yes, let me guess: the fetcher 3: titties and ass is better?
I love how you faggots assume nintendo is all I play.
For the record, no consoles this gen was good.
The game looks great on the Wii u and I haven't had any noticeable frame rate issues yet
The total lack of anti-aliasing is what does it for me. Why does Nintendo not even try for AA? Even 2x AA looks WORLDS better than none at all.
The graphics being low detail and very 'clean' makes the lack of AA even more obvious and distracting.
Problem is: you have to put a rating depending on what happening now, not 10+ years ago. Giving a game with clearly outdated graphics 100\100 is wrong, because 100 rating means game excells at every aspect.
I just got the magnet. How do I use it?
>Why does Nintendo not even try for AA?
because the framerate is already dogshit lets not make it worse user
Because it's not completely optimized and even though the Switch is actually pretty powerful for a handheld (unlike what most shitposting falseflaggers claim), it still has limited power. Switch in docked mode is only 50-70% of an Xbone's power. The recent patch just managed to reduce FPS problems, and I suspect there will be more in the future.
Only works on moveable, I believe.
ICP pls go
>grass looks like ass but it still murders frame rate
Graphics don't matter though as long as they don't actively harm the game experience like frame rate drops.
Nothing happens when I press up on those platform things. Is the magnet supposed to be red?
Fuck, i'm stupid. L is the button i'm supposed to press.
Wii U fag here. 2 hours in and so far it's pretty good
Okay, fuck graphics. There is not a single thing 2011 remake\release of ocarina does better than skyrim. God, you cant even fucking jump in oot unless devs want you to.
>9/10
More like 6/10
I can deal with the framerate, honestly.
My only real complaints are that the voice acting sucks dick for the most part, and the fucking shitty inventory management. Seriously, why is there no quick drop or "exchange for current weapon" option?
I'd rather play OoT over skyrim any day of the week. OoT actually has fun gameplay.
>Close up on burning thorn bushes
>FPS drops to 5
Shame. Aside from looking like ass, it looks great
>everyone complaining about framerate
>nobody mentioning the awful lighting that makes everything too shiny and details are lost
It is quite literally one of the worst artstyles I've seen in a game
Is there much in the way of cool clothing and other gear in this game?
I'm loving the powers they're great, and I'm not too far in yet but all I've really encountered is the same 7 weapons in different styles, which isn't exactly a problem, just found the boomerang which is cool.
Just wondering about unique weapons and gear too, any of that?
The first two villages you come across, assuming you're following the story, have some pretty cool armour selection in their shops.
Do side quests go into your journal thing?
I can't seem to find it it's just main missions. Am i retarded?
So tell me what part is better. I cant say i loved skyrim but iat least it was passable. OoT is a borefest. Whats the part where fun begins? Do battles become something more than just 'wait till enemy is open, strike, repeat'? When Link is given a choice of going wherever he wants and not producers tell him to? Is there a secretely perfcet story hidden under 'evil gorgofag threats world\steals princess and you have to stop him'? Is there a town that looks like, you know, a town and not a village of two people? Or maybe a dungeon with a decent level design, not just 2 squares and random path line between those?
Love the fuck you want about this game, i just want to hear any reasonable arguments and not a single fucker can provide one.
how the fuck do you do the maze in the shrine from the 2nd village?
Imagine if it were on a computer.
Que ONE open world game better than BotW retard.
Switch should have been a real system. BOTW is the 3D Zelda that the series always deserved, but it's running on a potato or a new potato.
Try actually playing the game instead of closely examining each and every pixel.
Having fun exploring so far. I wanna know if the loot is random or predetermined though.
I just finished my visit to Kakiriko, and on my way to another village I saw a shrine by the ocean and went to grab that shit.
The enemies there were wielding 26 damage swords (Which outdid both the rare quest weapon and the boss weapon I got).
Upon defeating them I got a chest.
That contained a 9 Strength spear.
Where you have to rotate the maze while the ball travels through it? I popped it upwards while it was leaving the maze. You can't rely on it to just keep rolling out of the maze.
You're right. The game is great but they need to fix the framerate. Hopefully a patch will be out soon
Go play Zork then.
whats better:
-combat is better
-AI and enemy variety is better. Literally every enemy in skyrim is the exact same, They just attack you with generic attacks. Every enemy type in Zelda is different and approached in different ways. You have many items and tools at your disposal. Skyrim = Left click and drink potions.
-Better dungeons, with actual puzzles in them
-Fun new things unlock in the world because of stuff like hookshot, and Eponda. Finding secrets is actually rewarding
-Towns feel alive, and the quests have actual meaning. IE: Cleansing the forest and re-filling the drained lake. All the quests in skyrim feel like they could be given to you by a billboard and turned in to a billboard. Nothing ever changes the world. I can go around and complete the whole game and then still go back to the first town and a bitch wants me to get her "Mammoth's tusk" still, years later?
-Characters have more personality
Everything in Bethesda games feels like it means nothing. Its just a check-list. Its like a single player mmo, just following dots on a minimap around.
This. Just follow the river by the cold place. It leads to the camp with the peppers.
Is the framerate better on switch or WiiU?
Or should I wait for emulator release?
Yeah, loot is random as far as I'm aware.
>Shrine of Muwo Jeem
Holy shit the game stops fucking around here. Probably should wait a little first, maybe visit that village.
>-combat is better
circle around enemy striking it in a red part or circle with enemy unless he's open for strike with a single exception of that guy with an axe.
>-AI and enemy variety is better.
Ai in zelda just charge at you using some special attacks from time to time. Ai in skyrim does same thing and you will not fight a troll with a frost attack or heavy knight with a shot dagger. You have to change tools, so no difference here.
>-Better dungeons, with actual puzzles in them
Like firing a torch or shooting a dimond just flying in a room or hitting plants in a right order (that is said to you a minute before). Boy this is exciting. Skyrim had some puzzles too, wasnt impressed by them either.
>-Fun new things unlock in the world because of stuff like hookshot, and Eponda. Finding secrets is actually rewarding
Those are not rewards, those are things that you have to get because you will not advance in the main quest without them and there are places and bosses that are unbeatable without those items.
>-Towns feel alive, and the quests have actual meaning.
A couple of npc in town and in stores will just patrol their paths or stay in same places. You can get into town, put a console on a desk with screen opened and go outside for a fiew hours. nothing will change. not a single thing. its the same 'world lives when i move' as skyrim.
>-Characters have more personality
What personality Link has? He never tells his opinion, never rejects a quest. Never asks anything. You are free to ask an owl to repeat its last sentence. A revolution in storytelling.
Everything in zelda games feelis like it means nothing. The princess will be kidnapped again and evil will rise again. Its just a single player mmo with a psuedo-open world and hard player guidance. Its a chekclist of the same things repeated over and over like its a call of duty game. Just adding features that every other game has, safe features that everyone likes and wont hurt sales.
>it's a 9/10!!!!
>fucking framerate is a 20/60!!!
console faggot logic at it's finest
it's not a hurr 9/10 if it can't even run properly
>caring about lag in a casual game
Found the shitter
>worse drawdistance
wrong, release build is the same as Switch in terms of graphical fidelity
>worse framerate
it runs better than docked Switch mode
>6/10
More like 4/10
point elbows 0/10 would not bang
this thread in a nutshell
>4/10
more like 2/10
When do the proper dungeons start? I'm at Zora's Domain now, will I be treated with a dungeon with longer puzzles than the short ones shrines give finally? The game really should've just started off with a dungeon or have one at least right after the plateau.
so do both versions have the same framelock? (not talking about how much frames you actually get)
GRAPHICS DON'T MATTER XDDD
Can you tame the wild foxes ? I heard taming animals was a thing idk how it's done though. Tried throwing a fucking fish at it and it ran off
>Hopefully a patch will be out soon
lol
>2/10
more like 1/10
Someone make an image out of all the archived posts that say the framerate will be fine in the final release.
It's always been 30fps since WW, they're never gonna change that
on the wiiu and switch?
damn what a shame
>1/10
more like 0.5/10
I'd probably wait till a new Switch comes out. One with all the fixes and hardware upgrade so that the performance is better.
You could probably trade in your old switch and only have to pay an extra $400 for the new one
Should i vendor my gems such as sapphires or do they have some other use?
this
Everyone who bought a Switch at launch is retarded.
I'll be enjoying the definitive version of BotW on my Wii U while waiting for the Switch Pro that will be sold cheaper and when there's an actual library of games to justify a purchase.
>enter town
>FPS go down the toilet
>0.5/10
more like 0.25/10
