Skate 2 had the better story with the whole "we wanna skate but the man won't let us" thing, draining pools for a limited time and knocking skate stoppers off of ledges, but Skate 3 definitely has the better gameplay and locations imo, though I do really miss Slappy's skate park from Skate 2.

skate 3 went too cartoony. Skate 2 was the perfect mix of Skate 1 and Skate 3. Perfect mix of Skateboard sim, silly hall of meat stuff, and realistic/unrealistic skate objectives.

Is skateboarding even relevant anymore? It was barely relevant by the time Tony Hawk's Underground 2 came out, and that game had to go after the Jackass audience instead.
Not to mention the skateboarding games genre doesn't really exist anymore, and THPS5 sure went out of its way to kill it entirely.
