For the first 100 hours it's breathtakingly fun. Among the most fun I ever had in games.

The issues mount as you gain more experience. You will start to notice how bad the netcode is, how entire bursts of shots appear to hit enemy aircraft yet actually inflict no damage. If you use a single-shot aircraft like the ME-262 50mm you will notice about 1/3 of your shots get 'eaten' by the netcode.

You will notice how Russian vehicles receive favorable treatment, from their matchmaking to their engine performance to their armament. I personally file dived into Russian vehicles and found bizarre inconsistencies, such as the Russian 122mm cartridge having almost 150% the high-explosive damage value of the German 128mm, despite having significantly less high-explosive filler IRL. The Russian 76mm has the highest chance-to-ignite of any tank round in the game, for no apparent reason. Various Russian tanks have 3-4x their IRL reload speed. All tanks have standardized optics, while in real life the Russian tanks had garbage optics or sometimes no optics at all, only a hole drilled for the gunner to look through.

It is also a highly pay-2-win game. You will spend a year or more unlocking even a single line of vehicles, and premium vehicles require real-life money. Many of the best vehicles in the game, for example the P-47M, are premium.

Reached rank 3 German vehicles.. nothing but russian bullshit and fighting people using 6.0+br vehicles. There is some serious issues.. honestly I'm losing interest in the game fast. Russian planes are just as bullshit as the tanks.

Okay so how is war thunder now? I haven't played it in a year and it seemed to be declining pretty bad then

I find WoT to be more fun for tank battles even with the stupid HP system. I enjoyed WT a lot but after tier 3 it becomes unplayable for tanks, and including planes in ALL tank battles was fucking stupid and the maps for tanks are inferior to WoT maps.

Although it is satisfying as fuck to pick off 3 Soviet heavy tanks with TOW missiles and watch them rage in chat.

I was a retard and bought the premium Jagdpanther because its one of my favorites. First fucking battle is against T-54's and T-10's.

Alright game. Tank battles are impossible for me to do good at though. I keep getting OHKO while I have the shoot a dozen rounds. And that's when the reticle turns green.

For what exactly? planes or tanks? they just added Jap tanks which threw the "balance" of battles even more out the window.

Prepare yourself for bullshit in tanks mode then. It's fun but once you hit tier 3 it starts to get even more stupid.

Planes are alright, I stick to the Brits for the Spitfires because they can turn on 90 degree angles if you use the landing flaps properly.

Last time I played it was pretty unbalanced at the higher tiers and American planes were like just objectively worse than the others while Russians were gods

It's pretty much the same for high tiers, they added a few new jets but that didn't do much.

Slav tanks are covered in little bullshit geometry which deflects anything. Here's a round with 260mm of penetration being eaten by an effectively 100mm thick plate.

We haven't seen any footage for this Enlisted game yet. I like the concept but I'm aware that it may yet turn out horribly.

It's an excellent game made by outstanding developers.

Good game for most of it if you can accept the fact the their "historical accurate values" is bullshit, the absolute scummiest devs I've ever seen in a game I played. I gave up because I was losing credits really fast when using my leopard, it didn't matter if I didn't kill anything or kill 6 enemy tanks, the repair costs were higher than rewards if you died in the match, and not dying in a leopard on a map with a gazillion Russian ZSU-57-2 + russian mouse aim ATGMs it's literally impossible.

I started playing WT very early on. The La-5 didn't even used to have a flight model.

It could literally point its nose straight up and climb 2-3km without stalling.

This is where a lot of the Russian planes became known as UFO's because their flight models were either entirely made up or they fudged the numbers so hard in the Russians favour.

WT is primarily made for the Russian audience, with strong Russian vehicles and bias.

The west is the secondary market.
