This is one of those cases where both parties involved are retarded

Nintendo is retarded for not having differently shaped notches to keep kids from doing it wrong, especially if they can get stuck like this

but it's way to early for kids to have a switch, the only people doing this currently are retarded adults

>Spend couple years developing new console
>Don't bother to ever see what would happen if someone were to accidentally put strap on upside down
>Don't bother with making it possible to transfer saved game files
How dumb is Nintendo?

youtube.com/watch?v=8iWePQ_ZCP4

I don't even own one of the damn things.

If adults can do this, you bet your ass kids are sure as fuck going to do it too

>grip has indicators on them to show you how to put them on correctly
>still put them on incorrectly

>requiring instructions to your fucking wriststraps because you designed them so shittily that you can actually BREAK your joycons just by putting it on wrong
I think Nintendo is fully to blame for this mess.

>How dumb is Nintendo?
They knew this would happen, obviously. They just don't give a shit. This is one of those cases where Nintendo and the resellers can just shrug and say "You used it wrong, it's not our fault" and nothing can be done about it.

youtube.com/watch?v=6rKRJ584Lf8
Who was in the wrong here?

This is more to do with the person being retarded to put it upside down in the first place.

>Plug USB device into PC upside down
>It gets stuck
>Have to dismantle PC to get USB out

Oh wait, this doesn't happen because it's logical to design shit so you can't put them in the wrong way.

It doesn't get stuck forever. I actually did this earlier today and then right after I start hearing about it. It's just a bitch to get off. Not heard of anyone breaking it.

>place punji stick trap in the wilderness
>american GI falls in and gets shit spiked
woooow the Vietnamese aren't to blame for this, it's the American soldier's fault for not noticing the trap.

Wait what

> + to +, - to -
Wow..., that was so hard.

My sides thanks man

They made it so that the Joy-Con straps are universal, you can put them on either left or right as long as you line up the icons.
But if you try to put one on backwards..!

Doesn't it say in the Manuel to make sure that you slide it on the right way?

If they have this written down in a sheet when you buy it then I agree; it isn't Nintendo's fault.

But if they NEVER said anything about sliding it in the wrong way then yes Nintendo is entirely to blame.

>barely visible indent in the black rail

People actually use the straps?

>reading a manual to set up a video game console
>reading a manual to attach a wrist strap to a controller

well I've only seen kids under 13 with switches so far for what its worth.

Do the symbols match up when it's locked on fully, or are you meant to match the symbols while first placing it on the rail before you slide it into place? It's not clear

kek

And why would you not pay attention to that? Are you trying to do it blind-folded or something?

qt

There was some dumb bitch who of course made a youtube video about breaking her controller when she did the shit wrong.

>QUALITY design
>QUALITY manufacturing

I probably would've done this if I got one.

The shoulder buttons are shitty as fuck without using the strap

It's far too subtle, plenty of people simply don't notice it or know what the symbols are even there. You only have to look at how many people are having issues putting it on backwards to realize that

Not even DSP fucked this up

I made this mistake with one of the joycon the day I unboxed the Switch. It is an easy mistake to make and a major design flaw. Don't try and dish out the blame in portions to damage control, they need to fix this shit ASAP as well as the USB charging port being on the bottom of the system. Retarded.

Why don't the joycons have ergonomic grooves or grips on them? I've seriously never used a less comfy piece of shit in my entire life

FUCKING STOP SHITPOSTING YOU MOUTHBREATHING RETARDS MAYBE IF YOU HAD HALF A BRAIN IT WOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE FOR YOU JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE FUCKING WORLD YOU SONYKEKOLDS

they need to fix a lot of things

Seriously?

>joycon strap on upside down
youtube.com/watch?v=8iWePQ_ZCP4

How are you supposed to dock it if the charging port isn't on the bottom?

Maybe if you, I don't know, used your brain and thought "Gee, maybe the strap should be on the bottom, so it's more practical to hold!", you wouldn't be shitposting.

Why aren't the Joycons Interchangeable ?

Easy, improve the design of the dock too. Even the back of the Switch would be a better location for a charging port.

>major design flaw
>easy mistake
no, you're just a fucking moron and need to kys
the only design flaw they have is designing something for a completely retarded fan base

>Did this my first time attaching it
>Got it off with no problems

The difference between us is that I didn't have to act like a faggot and make a thread about it.

So what you're saying is, to put the rail onto the joycon you need to first match up OPPOSITE symbols. The symbols only match AFTER you've finished sliding the rail all the way down.
Which means - to determine what the correct orientation for the rail is PRIOR to actually putting it on (aka what people need to fucking do otherwise it gets stuck), you need to match the OPPOSITE symbols.

Not exactly intuitive, user.

>Market the Switch as an easy way to snap your console to portable mode to take it on the go!
>But don't accidentally slide the joycon grip on backwards because it could fuck up your $70 waggler and the fanboys will call you retarded
>M-man I hope the switch sells 60 million units!
Fuck off, it needs fixing

She sounds nice.

Look, bad engineering is bad engineering guys.

Take a look at his door, instead of creating a handle that clearly indicates whether the user needs to push or pull, the designers just decided to write PUSH on it. This is incredibly lazy.

If Nintendo expects people to read the instructions for something as simple as sliding a strap on a controller then they have failed.

>major design flaw
There's nothing wrong with it goy. Now go out and buy a replacement joycon. Or you could buy a new pair thats cheaper than a single con, What a steal! Also why not be a crafty consumer and buy one of our screen protectors you never know what might scratch the screen. heh heh heh

Who says you have to dock it bottom first?

Are you a retard? You put the Plus ones together and the Minus ones together.

i did this and got it off no problem. I did panic for a moment cuz it took me half a minute.

How in the fuck? You gotta force it down to even get it on backwards. Stupid niglet probably didn't even know you can disengage the white lock tab

What does the lock tab even do? I can't see any mechanisms near the rail move when I put it on/off

>You gotta force it down to even get it on backwards.
No you don't, that's why its a problem.

>made for children
>breaks
>charge for replacements

I have but got it off though. The straps suck and it's better just to not have them on in the first place

>works4me:3

You gotta use considerable amount of force to get it on backwards
t. Someone who actually owns a switch.

There are tiny little claws that pop out as far as I can tell. They are tiny as fuck and lock the bottom only.

This is irrelevant, user.
You know they wrote that there to protect their asses

upside down

I wonder how many of these problems are deliberate so they can release a Switch Slim "now with all this shit fixed for only $299 xDDDD".

I own one too you fuckstick, so either I'm buff as shit or you don't need to use much force at all considering I made this mistake. Which are you willing to give me? Because I'm happy with both.

So it's a ploy to sell more Joycons and straps? That's pretty smart of Nintendo, I must admit.

you're a big guy

I had a hell of a time getting mine off when I slid it on.

I'm never putting that shit on again.

It just screams poorly designed product

Everything nintendo have done since the 64 has screamed that

Give it two charging ports.

how many people are having the issue who arent shitposting?

You too.

>act like a retard
>face the consequences
>WOOOW WTF FUCKING BUGGED REAL LIFE MECHANICS
Americans...

But they're on opposite sides. The - is on the literal reverse side of the +. Not just the other edge of the joycon. Each side only has one of the two symbols at one end of it. You take the side with a -, and slide it onto the joycon with a -.
They probably should've found some way to make them universal, but this is hardly a flaw if you're not retarded. Why Sup Forums is trying to shitpost about things that only literal retards and children will run into is beyond me. Console wars never change i guess.

Why are you disregarding the experiences of children and retards?

why did they put handles on the push side? you don't need a handle to push it open.

>cute voice
>freckles

t. Alexelcapo

>design flaws are not valid criticisms
Imagine if you could plug a USB in backwards but if you did that shit was stuck and needed to be forcefully removed potentially damaging whatever $70 peripheral it was plugged into. Considering 99% of people twist a USB around 3 times trying to slide it in without looking you'd be damned sure people are going to do the same thing with a "convenient" device like the Switch.

>we see consumers are too retarded to line up the symbols and push on the piece of plastic correctly, so all new joycons will now have wriststraps and condoms built-in and unremovable. prease understando.

>major megacorporation launching critical new mass market consumer entertainment product makes an engineering failure that results in owners having to read instructions and pay close attention to an operation that should be absolutely trivially perfectly foolproof
>retard defense force rushes to suck said megacorporation's dick and excuse everything
>they do it for free
In a shocking twist that will surprise absolutely no one who has been on Sup Forums for more the 47 seconds, faggot fanboys like this user will be the first to whine about the Switch failing to sell in significant numbers resulting in shitty 3rd party support YET AGAIN.
>isn't Nintendo's fault, it's consumers fault for not buying their shit!
>the world OWES it to Nintendo to buy their stuff!

Who's that? Some fucking e-celeb?

it's just poor design by nintendo

in this modern age of streamlining things you simply can't ask the user to read a manual and expect them to get things right 100% of the time

>forcefully removed
wat. It's as "forcefully removed" as using the pinhole on a DVD drive.

>a tool of some sort
>uses a dab tool

this is my kinda chick

Why didn't they just design the straps so they couldn't be put on upside down? Just close off the rail at the very top so you can't slide it on from that point? The lanyard side is always where you begin the slide down, so just block off the end of the non-lanyard side so you can't slide from it
Why didn't they just do this?

youtu.be/Le3QrZCndLM?t=4m25s
Scrub to 4:25

>being an incompetus

Yeah, some fag who literally put the joycons backwards by accident and couldn't get them out so he got a refund and Nintenbros attacked him because the Switch is perfect and it can't be possible that there is a defective one, shit was funny.

>target audience are kids, casuals and retarded manchildren
>proceed to no idiotproof your product

not stuck forever, just takes some effort to pull back out

Do you want this thing to sell or not fag? Because children (or more accurately, children's parents) and "retards" (aka, busy people who expect an appliance whose sole purpose in existence is to make going from zero to vidya as easy and brainless an experience as possible or else they'd be using a PC and not a console you fucking idiot) have dollary dingos that are just as good as anyone else's. And they are key to YOUR ultimate value from the console too, because if a console sells badly mass market then it doesn't get as much support, that's how it works. Vidya devs aren't fucking charities or agents in your holy wars. Idiotic design decisions in an APPLIANCE rightly get dinged precisely because nobody should have to spare a single neuron on WRIST STRAPS.

this

>having to google how to remove a wriststrap without breaking a peripheral is considered good design by fanboys

it kinda feels like I can put an hdmi cable into one of my gpus displayports.
almost jammed it in once because I thought I had more than just one hdmi port.

why is that widescreen?

you're a special kind of retarded

>people actually had to look up a youtube video to unstuck something they could have figured out themselves

wow, this world, is really, stupid.

how do i capture a dumpy black qt like this for my home

>Nintendo UI "design"
There are lots of things they do well but human interface design for actual regular humans is not one of them.

>brainless an experience as possible or else they'd be using a PC and not a console you fucking idiot
What? You can be a complete moron and still setup and play games on PC.

>no music in the menus
>mii creation in fucking settings
>no music in mii creation

what happened to nintendo trying to make everything fucking fun?

find one and ask her out

black girls love white guys, especially ones from the hood. I guess it's a trophy thing.

oh no no, i don't want to go out with her, my boyfriend wouldn't like that
