What rpgs are you playing tonight, Sup Forums?

I remember seeing that boss fight against the King instead of Yumil but I have no memory of how to trigger it.

Just got into Pillars of Eternity for the first time this morning. Played about 6 hours today, shits pretty good, and I don't typically enjoy these styles of games either.

> Lich and archmage
> not 2 rangers

FF7. It's hard to not constantly hold down that fast forward button. And I don't know how people find JRPGs so enthralling or spend so much time breeding Chocobos or doing stuff at the Golden Saucer. I'm at the part where you parachute to Midgar. I hope there isn't much left to the game.

I also started Morrowind on a whim. It's uh, okay. Feels just like Oblivion but slightly less ugly and with worse combat. I stole $200 from a dead dude and reported him and nothing happened, like okay. I picked alchemy and whatnot for my skills so I'm picking flowers and shit to make "feather 2 pts for 7 seconds" or whatever. I'm just thinking of how much I have to collect and how many shitty potions I have to grind out before I can do anything interesting here.

I don't know. I don't think the video game interpretation of Role-Playing is what I like.

that's not an archmage you pig it's a doll master.

I could be doing FF7, but I'm gonna save it to play with some friends after we're done with sanic heroes.

Otherwise I just keep browsing old game lists and hope I come across a hidden gem for older systems or my current ones.

Playing FFIII DS version right now.
It's been a decade since I've played this game, so it feels really fresh and I'm enjoying it.

>there will never be another game remotely like Ogre Battle 64

it hurts bro

I tried all the tactics but they all play the same and not anything like it

battle of wesnoth and valkyria chronicles were close

Try TLR or Soul Nomad.

Baldur's Gate, starting Tales of the Sword Coast.

March of the Black Queen?

You sound like you view video-games as a sort of obligation lmao, sucks to be you, I loved my first playthrough of FF7.

If you're not having fun just play another game.

I would play Tides of Nu-men-era more, but I just leveled up to tier 2 and got the Inspire passive buff. Now I constantly have this ear piercing EEEEE sound effect.

How in the living fuck did this pass through play tests?

Really liking the game otherwise, hope they fucking patch it soon.

Underrail

I'm playing a guy with a sledgehammer that runs up to groups of enemies and kamikazi detonates grenades, but can survive because hes covered in blast protection gear. Its very fun.

I keep wanting to get into BG but I always get ass raped right out the gate. I swear I need to wake up early and make a day out getting the hang of everything.

I'll try Soul Nomad, I played TLR but just couldn't get into it, maybe I'll retry

yeah played that obviously

w-why is he pointing at me...?

I tried playing through it recently and it was really jarring how it had like only 3 different audio tracks. I guess it was just the power of the N64

There's Magnus, two Black Knights, a Lich, and a Siren. The Siren is the female equivalent of an Archmage. I dunno why someone would make Magnus' unit a chaotic unit, but to each his own, I suppose.

I am having fun with FF7 but it just hasn't introduced any new mechanics and after so much time with the combat system it's run super thin. I'll finish it but I don't think it's top ten material.

I was so excited to play the DS remakes of III and IV when they came out but they really felt lacking in my opinion. But then again after playing V so much its to be expected of III.

I'm currently downloading "Wasteland 2: Director's Cut".

I'm just hoping it'll be alright this time around.

U wot m8? Are you making puns and having giggles there?
He is
>LMAOing @ ur life
literally

I wish this game didn't emulate like shit. Also Dragon units are fun as fuck and Dragon Master best girl.

>all the other ultimate dragons are named after ancient mythological dragons
>except pic related who's name "Flarebrass" for some reason
Couldn't they just have called him Salamander instead?

Dungeon Travellers 2

I finally reached floor 30 of the 8th post game dungeonand have been farming/gearing my main party for 20~ hours and I still cant kill anything.

I only play Nintendo games (mostly their RPGs) but I decided to try FF7 because I hear so much about it.

It's okay I guess, Xenoblade and Tokyo Mirage Sessions are better.

Do I play Rune Factory 4 tonight, Total warhammer, or SMT apocalypse?

RF for late night coziness.

I Am Setsuna on Switch. Pretty comfy playing it in bed with the switch hanging overhead and a controller in each hand

Aeterna is the time goddess

I don't know what that means, but I also don't really care about spoiling this game. They could have chosen a less obvious name.

ESO

Just started playing it this weekend, already having a blast with it and I'm surprised how easy it is to roleplay with fellow players

I'm glad to see people still remember this game. It's easily one of my favorite games; I still name every character I play in fantasy RPGs "Magnus". I wish there were more games in the series that used its combat system.

Picking up the Shadowrun games for the first time, having a lot of fun playing as a decker since I almost always just play pure combat characters in RPGs

Thought about playing Pillars of Eternity but I have no idea how to build a good character in the game so I stopped after messing around in the character creator for a little bit.
Also have Dragonfall, Hong Kong, TMS, Cold Steel 2, Alpha Protocol, Underrail, and probably a few others sitting on my backlog. Not really sure what to play

Love this game so much. There is still a lot unsolved about how the background mechanics worked in it. I enjoy the notion of the automated battles.

I played Torment for a bit but I started Tyranny recently and I want to finish that first.

Could someone explain how this game works?

Is it like Dragon Force?

phantasy star 4

The SNES Ogre Battle is such a bitch with the alignment system. I just gave up on trying to get a good ending.

>There is still a lot unsolved about how the background mechanics worked in it
As much as I adore this game, fuck chaos frame and fuck that frequently nonsensical "Liberate/Capture" mechanic. That game is too god damn long and has too many endings to leave it up to some completely unknown metric.

I'm playing some sweet Horizon New Dawn.

It plays like a weird quasi mix of rts and srpg. You don't control just a single character but instead move whole troops of units around a map to initiate battles and capture strongholds. Battles for the most part are automated but you can issue commands. I don't know how deep commands can get since I just started the game myself.

You need a low chaos frame and you need to head straight to Latium instead of doing any of the optional maps to the north.

Commands just consist of options available to you when you click A during a battle.
>Retreat
>Combat orders for the whole unit (e.g. Attack Leader/Strongest/Weakest/Random)
>Elemental Magic

I'm breeding Egg Moves onto a Chimecho in Pokemon Sun, if that counts. Though more so I'm watching Sex Sent Me to the ER.

Beware of the glitches. I had to drop dragonfall because of a glitch that wouldn't ever let me complete one of the story missions.

Really satisfying turn based combat though.

Might and Magic 7 KCSS Dark path playthrough

Recently I've developed a habit of leaving games unfinished. Every couple of months I manage to squeeze together ~10 hours of free time and I start a new game, but then I run out of time and I'm too exhausted to play games until the next time I get a block of spare time (and then I start something new). I'm about halfway through Panzer Dragoon Saga, Fire Emblem Revelations, Ys Oath in Felghana, and Romancing SaGa 3.

Should I push myself to finish the games I start?

Thanks user, I'll be sure to keep extra saves

Grand historia in japanese as Edutainment

Nothing just waiting for Persona to release.

You should at least finish Ys and SaGa 3.

FF4 (DS)
There are way too many random encounters
When does Cecil start getting more skills?

Berseria

My own

Must be awful.

I've done the same thing. Also just forgetting a game midway through and having no motivation to finish it because you can't remember where you are in the story.

I WANT TO FINISH YOU TLR
