Voice actors are expensive and that money would be better spent on another half-baked idea
Didn't they fuck over the VA's on their contracts? Like they were used for more characters than what was agreed on?
They spent their VA budget on celebrities who voice a single character that no one gives a fuck about.

Sounds like Rebecca Sugar used to work for Bethesda.
Bethesda literally doesn't give a single shit as long as retards keep buying copies.
That was Obsidian and Benny.
What celebrities were in Skyrim? I mean I know that was true in Fallout 3 but I don't even remember any notable celebs in Skyrim. Which kind of makes it sadder. Hell the first fucking mission in the game if you side with the stormcloaks they have to reuse a voice for one of the first 3 characters you interact with.
>Voice actors are expensive
Don't lie on the internet
Lynda Carter.
Skyrim had too, even more so in fact.
Max von Sydow
Joan Allen
Christopher Plummer
Michael Hogan
Unionized ones sure are. I read somewhere it's like 800 bucks a day plus like another 200 towards their benefits. That's assuming they're just some no name with a union card. If you try to get someone like Nolan North, John Dimaggio or Tara Strong they probably command a fair deal more.
Doesn't L. Baily play the vampire bitch too?
Who?
>Laura Bailey
>a celebrity
She's a crony who's way too into herself.
Wonder Woman.
She's a video game voice actress, not really a celebrity, kinda like Steve Blum, nobody outside of the industry will know who she is.
New Vegas has way more "celebrities" but the thing was they were all B and C. Matthew Perry was the only one that at any point at his career could have qualified as A list and he was well past his prime. They really did a great job of dredging up a huge number of minor celebrities to give important characters flavor. Much better than 3 did wasting everything on Liam Neisen and Malcolm McDowell and then using like 8 community theater rejects for every single other character.
Wrong game for that complaint.
You are thinking of Oblivion.
The quality of shitposters is going downhill.
Too stupid to know which complaint goes with which game.
Sad.
It's the perfect game for that complaint. They literally reuse a VA in the first fucking mission. One mission in and they ran out of unique voice actors and had to have a character talk to themselves. That's fucking pathetic.
The Beheading?
You may be right but I don't remember it.
out of curiosity which characters have the same VA in the first skyrim mission?
I think I remember it, it was Ralof and that guy who is father to the kid who is almost eaten by Alduin, they have the same VA IIRC
If you take the Stormcloak route out of Helgen Hod and Ralof are voiced by the same guy doing the exact same voice. It's ridiculous how nobody thought that would be a problem.
For realz, the only good thing they do is make their games easy to mod. They even managed to fuck that up in FO4 by hardcoding in bullshit that can't be modded out.
that's not Oblivion
Skyrim had plenty of vas
>open world RPG with several locations and hundreds of voice npcs
>"...NOT ALL THE VOICES ARE DIFFERENT!!!" WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!"
...
I think some of Jarl Balgruuf's VA can be heard from another few NPC characters but I don't remember too fondly.
Man arena is the worst imo, insanely long and insanely boring. Also Battlespire is highly underrated. It has the best character creation system I've ever seen and the game is pretty cool if you don't mind the terrible voice acting.
Pict perfectly describes final fantasy series as a whole.
>Could not be bothered to have two different voice actors for early part of main quest
>Could not bother to tell single VA to at least put some kind of affectation on his voice to make it less noticeable that he's literally talking to himself.
Fuck right off. New Vegas reuses a shit ton of voices but they at least put some effort into varying up their characters so that it's not staring you in the face all the time. Bethesda hires about 10 or so people to do hundreds of voices and makes no effort to vary any of them. You basically just have nord male one, nord male 2, nord female, generic non-nord female, belathor, old man, old woman boy and girl. Rinse and repeat for hundreds of characters.
You do know that Stephen Russell did a shitload of voices for the game and not all of them sound alike, right?
