No. I've played Mario since NES days and I get it, he has a following and there are going to be Mario games until the end of Nintendo. Same for Zelda , I've just done all the poster child titles that every Nintendo console has to offer.
Fire emblem isn't that great of an SRPG unless you're invested in characters that I couldn't find interesting. Kid icarus is fun but the controls are God awful, it's a bitter pill you swallow much like being good at GunZ was.
Honestly the only games that I would give a recommendation are

Beyond that, the backward compatibility is nice because the DS had a good library coupled with its backward compatibility of GBA which had a plethora of badass games.
