Does anyone else have a gambling addiction? I think I need help

Does anyone else have a gambling addiction? I think I need help.

I seriously started playing CSGO about 3 weeks ago. I absolutely love the game, but even more so I'm even more appealed to the concept of buying cases.

I've spent about $250 so far. 50 dollars on skins I wanted and $200 on cases. I got maybe 5 dollars in returns. I literally feel like I just took $200 of my hard earned money and ripped it to shreds.

I still am fighting the urge to just go and buy some steam cards thinking today is the day.

Plz Sup Forums I need help. If I call a gambling addiction hotline would they understand?

You have issues if you started the game 3 weeks ago and spent 250 dollars already. You are literally Valve's bitch.

I used to be the same way with TF2, but even worse, I solved it by just going cold turkey and focusing on non-item collecting based games.

Uninstall the game mang.

i spent $150 on fire emblem heroes

i feel bad because the last $40 i spent gave me fucking nothing from the new banner, literally nothing. I got 4 fucking 4 star marths

start an addiction thats actually fun, like drugs

I have a rule with gambling, never use your own money, and if you can walk out with the same amount or more, do it at the first chance you get. Sounds lame but I've never been fucked over.

Former addict here. I spent about $500 in cases until I forced myself to stop. Eventually I traded up my shit skins to a $300 knife and sold it on opskins. DO NOT SINK MONEY INTO COSMETICS THEY ARE WORTHLESS.

Honestly - yes you might and the best thing is to just walk away. Something that might help is to conceptualize how the system is rigged. It's not set up for you to "win" it's set up for you to lose. "Wins" are hope bait designed to trigger your "it could be me" wishful thinking inner voice.

This isn't dice or a shuffled deck of cards. The hard programming is designed and specifically curated and tweaked to have you lose the most it can before turning you off.

Just walk away.

And for some comfort - in the grand scheme of things $200 is nothing and you got off cheap.

Gambling is a disease! Stop while you can!

My computer black screen crashed the moment I open my 1st csgo case (got a $0.4 57 skin). God told me to stop so I stopped.

>I literally feel like I just took $200 of my hard earned money and ripped it to shreds.
>I still am fighting the urge to just go and buy some steam cards thinking today is the day.

>because of a fucking counter strike
At least get an addiction to good games, user.

I play Dota 2 and CS:GO since they creation and the only money i ever gave to valve was for Dota's TI comepndium 3 years in a row and thats it.Never bought anything in CS.

Never understood retads wasting money on useless skins

>gambling is a disease

Addiction is the only disease that can be cured with self-control and willpower. Try that with cancer.

you are pathetic and CSGO is trash

I'll quite literally make more money back going to a casino and playing the tables.

Spending money on crates in excess of a couple of bucks, ESPECIALLY when the item you get is purely cosmetic is horrendous.

...

i bought about 12k worth of skins off opskins after i dropped a grand on cases without getting shit

First and only time i fell big for the gambling meme was for PWE's lockbox's, i spent too much and gained so little, the way i kicked it was to never play a game which has a luck based monetized lottery in some form.

I never understood retards that are "gambling" in CS.
Like, even if you win, you dont any actual money. You win money in your steam wallet that in the end still go to valve since you cant withdraw them, right?

Start by gambling for something more profitable. I advise poker first. Then when you get tired of losing at poker start sport bets. Git gud at that and start day trading. Then git gud at trading.

Thank you, user. Without whales like you I don't think CSGO would still be getting attention from Valve.

You can convert skins to keys and sell keys for paypal money.

>I solved it by just going cold turkey and focusing on non-item collecting based games.
second this

Been there, done that. Didn't spend thar mucg, maybe only $120 or so over the course of 500 hours played a couple years ago. Literally stop playing it. It's a garbage game with a god awful, cancerous community and shit gameplay. Uninstall it, sell your skins, buy other games with the money you get from them, and never look back.

Oh wow, seems like too mich of a hassle, but i guess it works since apparently some people have this as a profession

without whales like him we'd have regular sprays

I lost a bet once, 25$ and that made me quit.

Once you see how valve fucks up games you will quit.

I day trade on the stock market. Lost 9 grand last Wednesday on a short position, not going into details. Everyone on Sup Forums should start trading stocks, it's like a video game that ruins your life.

>sold knife for 300 dollars
>COSMETICS THEY ARE WORTHLESS.
fuck you

This a million times. You will be amazed by how quickly your urge to play the game and buy shit will dissipate by just uninstalling the game.

>Burning $250 for fucking nothing
How does getting fucked in the ass by Gaben feel?

it felt good, thats why he did it

He's talking about it in terms of utility, faggot. A game texture is worth fucking nothing aside from an arbitrary and artificial value that Valve or another retard like you gives it.

>I have a rule with gambling, never use your own money

wat? so you steal people's money and then gamble it away?

He's probably only gambling the money he earned from the game itself. Game gives him shit and he gambles with it, I assume.

I would if I had the knowledge and the money to burn. That's not the case though.

please buy me a copy of cs go user?

>Preorder the $100 fuck you edition of Warframe when it was in beta
(though I still go back to this every few months or so)
>Spent $40 on Spiral Knights
>Spent $20 on Scarlett Blade

How bad am I vee?

I'm 5 years clean unless the Forza expansions count.

Not that bad relatively. Just don't ever look back. Never install another MMO and honestly stay away from MP games in general since now days they are all infected by microtransaction shit.

I spent $20 on Overwatch lootboxes last year and I regretted it. Never again.

You could take the money you want to spend on CSGO keys, go to your local casino, spend it all on slots, have an at least 80x greater chance to make a profit and then use your potential winnings on the item you want.

This is coming from someone who works at Aristocrat.

I'll give you a copy of cs:go fuck yourself how does that sound?

Are you guys from reddit or have fuking genuine mental disorder, how can you keep actively dumping money into some shit you see doesn't give anything back to you, moght as well give that cash to me so I could buy some vidya

I play diablo or diablo clones to satisfy this itch desu

The game textures do have value and it doesn't matter who made it valuable.

In terms of utility? Why do you think people buy skins in the first place?

Gotta have those sick skins!

Do people here really do this? If so you're all retarded

>Why do you think people buy skins in the first place?

Why do poor people buy scratch tickets and cigarettes. Because they are idiots.

my dick ain't long enough though

>video game loot boxes
>gambling
m8, with gambling you actually have a shot at making money, you're just pissing away cash on useless digital bullshit.

I mean like when you're near a casino and a friend gives you a few bucks, then i throw it in the slot machines for a laugh.

If you aint retarded you can get them with like no investment, I know a bunch of dudes who started with like nothing and now they are making money with this shit and have full inventories of keys

And hefe I thought Inwas dumb for soending 30 $ trying to get the witch skin for mercy last day of halloween event

Still gives them utility.

You are

stop while you're ahead, there probably isn't a pity timer in CS:GO and even if you get a knife you probably won't break even. If you want skins you should just buy the skin you want since you can sell it later for real money.

Games with randomised loot that can be purchased with real money should be classed as gambling and be rated as AO.

This quote is so true it hurts.

Its because of people like OP that I haven't had to use real money to buy a game on steam in years

I won a $3,000 jackpot once when there was just one site for it and turned the winnings into Asiimov AWPs I'd use in betting on matches that were guaranteed who would win.

opened one (1) case
looted 130$ knife
downgraded it for better looking 110$ knife and various skins for guns
not touching cases ever since

I walked away from an out-of-the-blue TF2 Unusual unbox with a $560 profit. Not steam money, Paypal. This shit went straight into my bank account.

Do research before you try to shitpost, retard.

this desu

wasted $10 on cases in 2014
year later i rolled an 8 in /csgog/ and got a $8 ak redline
from that i got up to $200 from csgolounge
would be lying if i said i cashed out tho

Only two ways to make money: Be naturally jewish as fuck and able to more or less legitimately make the money because you have a knack for playing the market and making and getting good deals, or being a fucking scumbag shark who exploits every opportunity they can get to make buck. Either way also requires being shrewd.

Too bad I'm too dumb, nice, and thin-skinned to do any of that. Being weak sucks.

take the money you were gonna spend on cases and put it on a 50-50 t1 vs t1 team game. the odds of you doubling your money would be 1000x higher by doing that instead of cases

>Stop people from being preyed on
>Stop publishers from doing this shit again

Win, win for all.

I could never bring myself to use real money to buy loot and boxes in games. Just spending $5-$20 on an indie game makes me feel like I wasted my money.
