probably wow since it still has so large playerbase, but on the other hand ff's style attracts more feminine people. In short: i have no clue.

Which is faster, working one or two extra hours a month at your job to pay for it, or spending much more working in game. Regardless the game is narcissistic enough to expect you to waste your own time on a regular basis just to keep playing it. Which is fucking stupid.

Heavensward has more content but WoW has more people.

the majority of WoW players are elitists who get their rocks off when their numbers are higher than your numbers.

This is probably the biggest problem I have seen with WoW, everyone is obsessed with iLevel and small DPS increases. XIV has the right idea in not adding add-on support so they have to develop visible mechanics instead of letting DBM do literally all the work and by banning any talk of parsers to prevent the game being as cancerous as WoW is when it comes to jacking off over numbers.
