Nintendo is trying to save racing games and nobody fucking cares.
"The difficulty of Fast RMX is constantly fast and brutal. You can’t expect to be able to beat all your opponents easily as they will play better than you and learn how to get into first place. You must play smart, control and boost effectively to win the race. There were points where I was in first place and I was just getting absolutely destroyed by the other racers, ending up in 4th or 5th place."
it's p fun, it's a shit F-zero clone but like it's not bad, it seems like they cared just enough to give fans something without actually giving them something
is this what being placated feels like???
Justin Harris
ATTENTION ALL LURKERS:
What would it take to make you give a flying fuck about Fast RMX?
Cooper Powell
actual personality. the game feels so fucking sterile it's weird. it's literally just generic futuristic racer
Charles Gonzalez
Is the online active?
That's all I really care about.
Brody Collins
I got Extreme G3 and Kinetica a week or two ago, how do they stack up to this?
They're pretty good, but still no Quantum Redshift. Figured I'd play the competition before I made a judgement since I always mention it in racing threads.
Logan Perry
A soul.
Tyler Ortiz
Kinda? Honestly, it's not ideal. You can totally get races now, in these first few weeks of the Switch being "a thing", but I'm skeptical how long that will last.
The infrastructure itself is great. It just has a case of Not Enough People (tm)
Owen Morales
Meh, I'll stick to redout on my PC then. I don't need another dead fast racer.
Austin Ramirez
It's objectively harder and more punishing than Extreme G3. I've never played Kinetica. You feel like a futuristic god when you race well though.
It takes a little gitting gud
Lincoln Ward
Totally fair. I'm just sad because it's a legitimately well designed racing game that was lucky enough to get a sequel, but I guess it's not meant to be. Like the other anons said, it needs something more to get people playing
Ryan Baker
I'll get it eventually but right now I have Zelda and Bomberman to play first.
Carter Green
Just convince me to buy it. I don't play many racers but I will if it's fun.
Christian Thomas
You have to git gud, but once you do: hard mode racing is such a boner inducing adrenaline rush that you feel space and time bending around as you go SANIC SPEED
if you wanna go FAST and look cool doing it, get Fast Rmx
you will crash. a LOT. at first.
Joshua Gutierrez
played it druxk with friends
everyone was horrible at it
can confirm it was an amusing tim though. ppl who said it ahs no personality were right thoug, it's literally jut wipeout
Juan White
Well, its good to see someone actually trying to make good graphics on the switch.
Lincoln Rivera
What made f zero work was each vehicle had a racer attached to it to be that person You are a no face character racing other no faces and thats why it feels empty Theres no universe to get into
Sebastian Sanders
thank you for replying to my thread but please to go sleep user, you probably have work in the morning
Owen King
This looks more like Wipeout without guns on than F-Zero. Lead with that next time.
Jonathan Anderson
Honestly, Fast RMX is such a weird game. It's so well designed, and gorgeous, and polished but nobody likes it, because there's NOTHING TO LIKE.
Living proof that all gameplay and no personality is not a winning formula.
You need some kind of charisma to movie copies of a game.
David Rodriguez
nobody has a main/fav track because nobody plays this shit game OP
haha fuck nintendo
where did all the racing games go. ;_; i miss racing games that aren't mario kart.
William Scott
>Nintendo It's not a Nintendo game you fucking retard.
I've got few questions for those who've got it. Is RMX buggy? FAST Racing Neo was fucking riddled with bugs, glitches and soft-locks and didn't get patched for six fucking months. I've already heard of one frequent bug which makes you cycle the last track in a cup over and over again which is enough to convince me to definitely hold off on getting it until it's fixed. Is that all there is in terms of frequent bugs? Does the online actually work this time or does it soft-lock the console again? Can you select individual tracks in local multiplayer or do you have to do the entire cup each time? It was pretty fucking retarded how they wouldn't let you do that in FRN. Has the rubberbanding AI been fixed from FRN? It was fucking ridiculous. Why are people still stupid and think that Nintendo has anything to do with this game (other than a minor assist in advertising like they do with most "Nindies") or that it plays like F-Zero? What's the button configuration for single Joy-Con mode? I bet it's inferior to playing with the default controller set-up (not enough buttons to boost, shift and accelerate at the same time) but I'm still curious. How are the new tracks? The DLC tracks were a major step-up from the original tracks (which were pretty good to start with) so I'm hoping Shin'en have improved even more. How's the framerate? Docked single player should probably be fine but I'm curious if it's as smooth when playing undocked and in splitscreen multiplayer.

I will try to answer best I can.
I haven't encountered anything like the cycling glitch yet. But I have encountered weird bullshit hiccups. I am 100% sure I did an extra lap on a track one time online. WTF?
Online no longer soft-locks.
Rubberbanding is still brutal.
The truth is people liken it to F-Zero because nobody actually played F-zero and think that's a way to get people to like it. It's not.
New tracks and frame rate aren't half bad. New tracks are pretty dope, DLC sure to come, framerate and portability is sexy for me.
To be totally honest, it's a mixed bag. They made improvements in some respects, and didn't improve other basic shit. You should probably hold off. I don't get where the fuck the other anons in this thread get off calling this game polished from a technical standpoint
Ethan Williams
Too lazy to answer all your questions.
It's buggy but not AS buggy. Framerate is great - but there are hiccups in docked mode, weirdly enough. CPUs are still dumb as hell. Tracks are fine I guess. You still GOTTA GO FAST
People do the F-zero thing because there hasn't been a mainstream racing game that wasn't mario kart or wipeout (;_;) since, as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong, i'm not a huge racing fanboy, kindof a noob actually, i just took a brief liking to fast racing for like a week
Adam Reyes
you'd have to tell me what it does better than my current go-to futuristic racers, F-Zero GX and Redout.
Matthew Scott
Thanks for answering my questions. I loved FAST Racing Neo. I bought it on launch day and put about 60 hours into it but I'll always be annoyed about how the devs fucked it up. The core gameplay was great and the level designed varied between good and fantastic (with only two tracks that I would consider to be genuinely bad) but having to wade through all the bugs and bullshit to get to it was frustrating. I'll wait until FAST RMX gets patched to include Time Trials and give it another look then.
From the Wii U Version >Main Vehicle Mueller PLS. Perfect balance of speed and handling for me. >Favourite Track Alpine Trust. Using that little exploit where you boost into a jump with the wrong colour and it stops your boost from dropping but still gives you the full boost made that track a fucking riot. Sunahara Plains had my favourite music as well. youtube.com/watch?v=5hEqojuJaaY
Dominic Wilson
Kinetica is very slippery and you need to do tricks for boost. It's easy compared to others once you get tricking down, but the maps are great and has a style akin to the first SSX due to when it was released.
I'd say I prefer it to Extreme G3 right now, but I haven't unlocked all those speed classes yet so I shouldn't judge between them.
I still think Quantum Redshift is more like F-Zero than most any racer, just different kinds of balance to consider in each lap.
Xavier Morales
Step aside Nintendo.
Jordan Cox
Is this game any better than redout?
Daniel Butler
>Nintendo is trying to save racing games What's a racing game without fucking corners?
Joshua Reyes
Brilliant game, I know a lot of people compare it to f-zero, but to be honest its closer to wipeout.
Christopher Turner
RMX is miles better.
Christopher Mitchell
Watched some gameplay right now and found that the game actually makes me a bit naseous. It's because of that damn camera not properly sticking to your car, but sort of lagging behind it. So your car is actually at a 80 degree angle in a turn, but the camera is still stuck on its 2D plane.
Can you turn that shit off?
Joshua Flores
Having played both, you're entitled to your opinion
Ayden Peterson
No, unfortunately. You can't turn off the obnoxious camera effects (other than Chromatic Abberation) either. Looks like this game isn't for you. I hope you find lots of good games that don't make you feel naseuous.
Hudson Roberts
I need to buy a Switch first and I'm not getting one just for an indie Wipeout.
I'll pick it up cheap when I get the switch for Mario.
Joseph Jackson
It's not that Fast RMX is good or bad, but is exactly how anyone would describe their praised futuristic racing game. It's like how first person shooters were in the 90s, it's another fun game, but you're not a special snowflake or the odd fish in the sea. I hope Fast RMX does well, anons.
Brayden Myers
that track looks boring as fuck though
Jonathan Butler
heeh really didn't like the first one, and if I'm going to buy a port/remaster I'd rather spend the money on Wipeout Omega which seems to be a more solid package and has gameplay I prefer.
Joshua Allen
Have fun playing Wipeout Sonyfriend. It looks great.
Zachary Ortiz
you already made your thread and nobody gave a shit. kys lorefag
Cameron Howard
Sorry, played both years ago. HD over half a decade ago.
Mason Butler
It really has 0 similarities to Wipeout. It's far closer to F-Zero
Thomas Ward
>it's not F-Zero! Didn't they literally get the announcer from F-Zero GX?
