So which is truly game of the decade?
So which is truly game of the decade?
Other urls found in this thread:
Neither. They're both trash.
The one with good gameplay.
both of these games have good gameplay
What games do you like?
the witcher is the best anyway
Fast RMX
One of these is for kids.
Dark Souls. Bloodborne is not as good as Dark Souls despite having some improvements.
Atelier Totori
I'm not joking
I've also played both of these games
Destiny
Persona 5
Nier
You know, typical Sup Forums weeb trash
I think Bloodborne, but those that don't really play video games will think Zelda.
They even think Orcarina of Time is the best game of all time, when it's not even the best game that came out that year.
>Metal Gear Solid
>Resident Evil 2
>Half Life
>Gex
>Spyro
>Marvel vs Capcom
>Starcraft
Do any of you over the age of 18 think that Ocarina of Time, let alone any Zelda game, is better than every game I just listed?
you're right bloodborne is not quite as good as dark souls, because it's much better
-aesthetic
-lore
-trick weapons
-combat
-bosses
-characters
About as good as RE2, but no way is it better than MGS.
>left is capped at 20 FPS for a "cinematic" feel
>right relies on edgy murder and gore to sell to the "mature gamer" audience
I wouldn't recommend either. i'd say a game like pic related would be a contender for "one of the best games of our time" as simplistic as it is, simply for how long it's lasted.
well yes, I think OoT is better than Gex. Not that I disliked Gex by any means, but still.
I'm also adding Banjo-Kazooie, Fallout 2, and Grim Fandango to your list.
HL, Gex, and RE2 are irredeemable trash
>Gex over OoT
Oh come on. Don't get me wrong, I don't think OoT is a godsend or anything, but you're not anywhere near the actual GOTY of 1998.
Wachenroder.
The level design and world design isn't as good, nor is it anywhere near as replayable.
agree level / world design
it's tonnes more replayable if you're into the excellent LORE though
it's also more replayable just by virtue of feeling good to play, which dark souls doesn't have going for it as much
Also weird follow up, but do any of you know people who pride themselves as gamers, but don't play video games?
>My friend and I live with a snake that always tries to pit us against each other
>Gets salty if either of us want to hang with our girlfriends
>Says he loves Metal Gear Solid, but didn't play any other game but 4 on PS3. Not sure if he finished it.
>His parents bought him a Wii U and he played it for all of 2 hours
>He played it for an extra hour when my friend and I came over to play Smash and Mario Kart
>After beating him he got his parents to sell it
>Skip past a year and he just bought a 2DS because I have one and my friend got one too
>He got like 2 hours into Pokemon Moon and 4 hours into Ocarina of Time 3D
>Not touched it in a month since and possibly sold it
>Just bought a Switch and swears down Breath of the Wild is the best game of all time
>Spams the course group chat telling everyone how gross it tastes
>Just declared that he doesn't want to live with either of us
Is it cool to pretend to like video games? From that description he'd probably like Sup Forums, but he posts on Reddit and spends all his money on supreme drops. No, he does not skate.
Who here enjoys both?
>tfw when I like all four of those games.
This
Sounds like a bonafide retard
haven't played BotW, and since the Zelda franchise has already produced two of my least enjoyed video games of all time you may guess, I'm in no hurry to play it. But, Wind Waker is in my top 5, so I'm not writing it off, and I'll be buying it once I get my Switch on Black Friday.
Love the fuck outta Bloodborne, though.
I'll choose the noose.
OoT is definitely a better game than Spyro and Gex. Let's not be stupid.
I also think that the Resident Evil games are just piles of shit in general but that's just my opinion rather than objective fact
I've played all of those and unironically think OoT is better.
How come?
>being so assblasted that Zero Downs turned out to be ubishit that you have to go back to B-bloodborne
>"one of the best games of our time"
I think it deserves acknowledgement from every self proclaimed games enthusiast if only for the fact that it's consistently fucked over its fans with every single update since at least Uber Update.
I wouldn't close to call current TF2 GOTYAY though. Hit registration is far too iffy.
I enjoy the idea of both.
Played neither, though.
Skyrim.
>Both ran 20fps
>One has a pretentious story the other doesnt
>One has an interesting world you can explore the other just copy pasted assets that bore you after 1 hour
what game on the right?
Bloodborne runs at a steady 30FPS with Boost Mode on a PS4 Pro
Haven't played Bloodborne yet. Should I trade it in and get Nioh?
Witcher 3
>I couldn't beat the cleric beast
what's pretentious about bloodborne?
But its a rip off of HP Lovecraft
>Witcher 3
this is the correct answer. BB was fun and comfy and all that, but Witcher 3 advanced the whole RPG setting so much further
Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen
>being such a casual pleb he thinks anything i n BB is hard
Because he's a delusional drone.
Decade's not over yet, Gamesradar
There is nothing Lovecraft about Zelda.
>Orcarina
>bloodborne
>story
How did I ever spell it like that? kek
ah well I spelled it right the second time
Bloodborne only has 5 talking NPCs and has more story than BotW
Dragon's Dogma
>one only has hard mode
>other has paid dlc hard mode
hmm
Confirmed not played BOTW
Yeah, I did, Do you think the story of BotW amount to a 10 page synopsis?
What game is GOTD 00-09?
Red Dead Redemption
fpbp
Paper Mario TTYD
Bayonetta 1 is the game of the decade hands down.
Also Dark Souls 1 is far superior to Bloodborne.
Dark Souls III is better than Bloodborne, people only pretend it's not because BB is exclusive.
haven't played BotW yet but I already like it more than BB which I have the plat for
BotW vs. Dark Souls 1 would be be closer
Only completed games can be runner ups for GotD
Runescape 2
What does completed games mean?
Bayonetta is like 12 hours long, has hundreds of lore entries, over 20 weapons, loads of different playstyles, tons of secrets, and 3 playable characters. How much more fucking complete does it need to be? It makes Devil May Cry 3 look as unfinished as DMC4.
Dark Souls 3 is the worst game in the entire series and people pretend it's not because it's multiplatform.
Seriously, DaS3 is complete and utter dogshit. Even shitty DaS2 looks great in comparison. Not saying BB is insanely better, it still has low replay value and no playstyle variety, but it's still better than DaS3.
I was talking about DaS you dingle. Notice how I said "runner up"
>ITT Sonyggèrs circlejerk over their overrated garbage
They're probably talking about the massive drop in quality in Dark Souls 1 that happens after the first half of the game.
>mfw love Demon Ruins
I mean Lost Izalith and TotG are still unforgivable dogshit tier, but Demon Ruins is pretty cool.
Bloodborne, if you include the dlc, is the most impressive full package of storytelling, music and boner-inducing presentation. I have been playing games for decades, and it eclipses all video games in its presentation. If you feel like debunking this statement I suggest you go buy a PS4 or kill yourself as fast as you are able
The witcher 3, despite what fags here think they really showed their passion for the game and it shows. Zelda botw is very similar in this aspect too, with the devs adding in neat details everywhere, just a shame that the game felt shallow since it's literally for kids. That said there's 3 more years so some game might still surpass them all.
Which decade?
>2007 to 2017
>2010 to 2020
either way, those choices aren't even close
I don't see how people can call the 4 Kings the worst boss when this thing exists.
Skymeme.
Well it's official, Sup Forums has become Reddit at this point.
>Only 15 enemy types. Literally recoloring enemies.
>Of those fifteen you are going to be fighting moblins, bokoblins, and lizalfos 80% of the time. The other 10 percent are Keese that die in one hit or the occasional wizrobe.
>Empty boring world with nothing in it aside from shrines, the aforementioned enemies, a few korok seeds, and the mandatory Zelda towns.
>Combat is worse than other Zeldas, removed the directional input attacks
>Weapons are just reskins of other weapon types.
>After you have good weapons, there's no incentive to fight enemies EVER because in doing so you are just breaking your weapons for worse weapons
>Dungeons literally took me 35 minutes to beat each, the only one that didn't was the Gerudo dungeon which took me an hour. I was sleep deprived and hungry though.
>Music is terrible, even when it's present listen to youtube.com
>Shrines get old fast, reusing the same 4 tools to beat them is boring. It's like creating 8 dungeons worth of Dungeons where all the puzzles are centered around the boomerang.
>Any "difficulty" the game has is removed by just pausing and eating food, or fairies.
>Damage sponge enemies, particularly the highest tier recolors and Lynels
>Story almost entirely absent, told in flashbacks, no sense of story progression.
>Terrible English voice acting
>Half of the side quests are literally fetch quests. Worst offender I found was when I had to gather a good 100 pieces of wood just to unlock a town that sold shit I didn't need or want.
The only good thing about this game are the towns, some of the typical Zelda tier sidequests associated with them, and the "charm" for some of the characters. When people are hyping it up as the "BEST GAME EVEAR SO MUCH TO DOOOO" it really brings to mind underaged Redditors with no taste.
Please for the love of God tell me I'm not the only one who sees this game for what it is.
...
4 Kings is literally nothing but one giant shitty DPS check, and is essentially where the game completely ends and becomes actually unwinnable when you roll over NG+ enough times.
Yeah I'm posting it in every single Zelda thread. Where are the counter arguments?
I'm not going to argue something I agree with, just don't be so autistic about your walls of text being pasted everywhere.
This
Bloodborne's presentation doesn't even beat Ocarina of Time, let alone truly impressive stuff like El Shaddai.
Why?
witcher 3 :)
Game of the decade? Objective answer is probably Minecraft.
Why do all the Characters in Zero Dawn look so fucking horrifying? I know they're supposed to be tribal humans but there's something about the faces and hairstyles that make them completely unappealing.
And while we're on the topic of insignificant shit that bothers me way too much: Why is one of the main new features of Breath of the Wild climbing yet all the cliffs look like horrible blurry messed? I was playing Dragons Dogma recently and even that game looks better in that regard.
Nier will be my goty anyway, I'm way too blinded by fanboyism at this point.
Link to the past >>> Ocarina of Time
The uncanny valley is a very real thing
Beanbone
You have to be 18+ to post here
...
>mentions a nintendo game
>18+ to post here
xd
>xd
Go back to plebbit, underage
I don't think kids know what Nintendo is anymore
That's why the company is dying
ex dee
I agree, breath of the wilds world gets boring quickly
This is the only correct answer
He's a poser faggot, you'll learn that you don't need those types around you
