How would Sup Forums design an open world survival game?

360 and walk away

Of course.

Was getting caught part of his master plan?

how else was he supposed to get his death data?

Minecraft clone in space. The Earth is dead, you're a lonely cosmonaut and your first job is to find resources in the vast emptiness of space and fix your ship. Solar system is one shared server. Dauntingly realistic astrophysics. If you leave your ship and step out of the light, sunlight or artifical, you get an immediate game over. Your computer warns you of dangers and offers helpful advice, but once in a while tries to get you to go into dark places, or open the airlock to see who's knocking from the outside. Physics engine streamlined enough to allow for messing around, but complex enough to allow construction of scientific toys like railgus or self-propelled missiles, or making yourself less visible using larger heat sinks. Three types of radar, one that gives accurate proximity warnings, one that gives rough information at long distances, and one that highlights Russian players.

Try Space Engineers.

STALKER with multiplayer

No special rules, it's just STALKER with random people. Some events naturally happen, at day or night. The game is divided by seasons, and the players need to enter and collect/find/trade/steal artifacts to win at the end of the season by escaping by buying your way out of the shithole.

Everyone is going to die one way or another at least once. Either raided, mugged, killed by the mutants, or radiation and Blowouts.

Then I think you're going to like Ray Of Hope

That's completely planetbound, isn't it?

I wouldn't attempt it at all because whatever I create couldn't compare to Dan's game

Not at all. You can get off the planet and fly to other ones. Or you can go for a map with just asteroids. Go find yourself a nice big asteroid and build a base in one of its deep caverns. Mine it for resources.

Maybe the planets are better because there are threats to fight. But I don't like how hard it is to get resources.

The protagonist is trained from birth by the U.S. government to survive and overcome any obstacle. Your final test...dropped behind North Korea and must escape. No weapons/equipment given to you. More realistic the better.

Carefully crafted locations to make them interesting enough to travel through, and not just empty wastelands
But that would take a considerable amount of time and budget so it's not viable

It is almost entirely in space. There's almost no reason to even be on a planet because of how limiting it is.

I for one cannot wait for Dan's game

You're a socially awkward NEET wizard and you have to survive at frat party house.

wasn't there an indie game about this?

something about killing everyone at a normie party without them finding out

Sounds like the brotherhood quest in oblivion.

Except you're not exactly neet, I guess.

I'd rather play a stealth game where you have to resist the dick-chasing succubi, avoid ethanol beverages that could cloud your judgement, sneak through dance floor and take pictures of Chads cheating on their girlfriends to blackmail them later.

The game is "party hard" if you're still wondering.

what are you weirdos talking about

Dantendo's game

Dangerous Zombie for PC when?
