>movie and anime took place in the city
>main game takes place on route 66

False advertisement.

Should have been four girls instead of four guys, and they should have lezzed out around the campfire.

it literally wasn't finished
it's the travesty of our gen

Nothing, it literally saved FF from dying.

The last part of the game was incredible shitty but the open world part was great

I'm playing BotW right now and I think that FFXV was more interesting

Early access.

they released it this decade

Shut the fuck up fag you literally see the city in pieces what the fuck were you expecting

I actually like the game.

>only directed 3 shit psp games, 2 of which are irredeemable garbage
>removed switchable characters to sell as DLC because it was "too hard"
>Removed 80% of the content shown in the the trailers from the final game
>turned KH combat into hold X to win combat because it was "too hard"
>turned well animated monsters with readable attack patterns into poorly animated monsters with bad AI and glitchy hitboxes because he's a retard
>Admitted the story was a mess.

The game should have started in the city like in all the Versus XIII trailers.

The fact that the CEO of Square Enix is DLC should show that the entire company is the problem.

So the ff series almost died but they made just enough with 15

Extreme tonal dissonance
Very strange approach to story
Boring ass combat
Boring ass leveling
Mostly boring enemies
Mostly boring NPCs
Huge empty world, with no reason to explore
Character interactions felt extremely stilted and unrealistic, although this is hugely subjective
Important character devolpment for your main bros, the only characters worth caring about, happens off screen
End of the game is a mess
Sudden time skip with no option to explore the changed world

It did a lot of good things, though, which I wouldn't take away from it.

It's a 7/10 game, it just felt like a AAA Korean MMO. A super high budget Dragon's Dogma maybe.

It's boring as fuck

pls be in london

The one and only Michael Santana said that it was fucking boring and he couldn't even finish it let alone stream it because of how boring it is

And he isn't even a dudebro, he is a huge JRPG fan

It was in development hell for, what, a decade? Nothing goes through that and comes out good, especially when everything else the developer puts out during that time is also shit.

Close enough ;)

This picture looks like a 90's boyband.
Also looks a bunch of fags.

It didn't have that feeling of progress that FF is so good at in my opinion.

Who

Making an open world ARPG with only 3 years of development.
I don't know if was SE's or Tabata's fault, but whoever decided to not give more time to such ambitious project was an asshole, a moron, or both.

>"youtube gamer"
Goddamn Sup Forums how low have you fallen

You dumb motherfucker.

All of the good content is optional so plebs who run through the main story in 12 hours miss out on it. They would have been smarter making the optional dungeons tie into the main quest, I.E. making itn a requirement to gather all 13 of the royal arms before the ending. Costlemark Tower is a good example of a pretty nice and challenging dungeon that according to PSN trophies ~80% of people have never gone into it.

I constantly forget this game exists and I actually own it.

- Square tried to do an open world when clearly they weren't ready yet.
- Combat was meh. It wasn't flat out horrible but all major games in the franchise were turn based, then they switch it up to action combat, they should do better than just getting Nox to zap around with his sword.
- Story needed so much supplementation and it was convoluted at pointless after chapter 11

This game felt like a chore to complete.

It was 70 hours of wasted potential. Why the fuck would you put 40% of a games plot into a movie tie in?

>obvious xv-kun bait thread

what's the point, we've milked him for all he's worth and now it's just sad

It's just a boring game. I played final fantasy XIII through to the end but this I couldn't finish.

>open world part was great
Not enough freedom. Who's fucking idea was it to put invisible walls on the sides of roads so players can't jump over with a chocobo to reach explorable areas? I also hate how you couldn't jump off most high places because the directors didn't want you to hurt yourself. If only we had a protag who could safely warp to the ground.

All the side quests were garbage.

Are you guys ready for multiplayer in a few months?

Ready to make your own donut steel and/or waifu to pal around with the bros/

It was okay. Still better than most AAA games but that's not saying a whole lot.

Wait, is there going to be character customization? I want to make Iris so I can see upskirts and fap myself into a coma.

They kept literally none of the promise they made:
> "Huge entirely explorable open world!"
---> Only part of Lucis is open world, not even entirely explorable, the rest is linear hallway worse than FFXIII
> "Kingdom Hearts battle system!"
---> Shitty combat that only looks like KH but plays nothing like it and is almost unplayable at times.
> "Cool playable intro in Insomnia!"
---> All deleted to make a movie leaving the game with one of the blandest opening in jrpg history.
> "Look forward to a beautiful and emotional story with lots of plot twists and deep characters like in the old times!"
---> Plot is so heavily butchered that even FF12 looks like a masterpiece in comparison.

Yeah, its one of their long term goals to add an avatar system. Also, Iris will probably become a playable character anyway.

They didn't really establish the setting.

>world outside of Insomnia only uses gill

But that wouldn't leave any dungeons for after one completes the main story.

Couldn't even fly over mountains with the Regalia F. Was hoping to visit secret islands or something but this game doesn't reward exploration very well.

It was more annoying how hitting one tree caused gameover.

no you

Name 1 (one) game that was in development for more than 5 years and ended up good.

The world was too big.

>Costlemark
>nice
No, fuck you

Am I the only one who never used magic?

Gay boyband

THE GUY PLAYS LEAGUE OF FUCKING BORING ALL DAY

HIS OPINION IS NOT VALID, AND NOT WELCOME HERE.

persona 5

FF XII was big too and is still one of the best RPG ever
