What went wrong?

What went wrong?

Nothing. It's just vanilla Civ 5 with slightly more initial content and dumbed down mechanics in every respect outside of districts. I wouldn't have expected anything else.

Is it worth getting?

Lack of content.
Not ditching 1UPT entirely.
Horribly incompetent AI.

That's it really. It's a solid foundation to build upon, just not very entertaining as it is.

If you have several hundred hours in civ games and want more then maybe. It's disappointing but still kinda fun.

I would rather play Vox Populi though. Those guys are better at designing civ games than Firaxis itself.

Endless Legend is better and Endless Space 2 will blow both out of the water.

Civ 5 was already a dumbed down piece of shit. Civ 6 is around the same level, but definitely not below.

No. But endless legend is.

fuck off shill, this is a civ discussion thread

Yeah. Even after a decade, Civ 4 is still the pinnacle of the Civ series.

And we are recommending games very similar to the Civ series, so fuck off.

How did they manage to make the AI even more retarded this time around?

shh
out with you

WHY did i fucking buy this game

i have like 3 hours in this game and that was all ONE game on standard time. and it fucking bored me to tears. ai tried to go for a religious victory and swarmed my continent with religious units. combat between religious units is a fucking chore.

what a mistake this purchase was.

I played 5 and hated it for being too shallow and politically correct. Should I start Civ4? Did he age well?

>Buying the first release of a Civ game
deserved it tb.h

i fell for the drones who kept saying it was the most complete launch and that it had all the features from the previous games. what they failed to mention was most of those features lack depth.

1UPT and AI

fucking missionary swarm blocking my movements

Hammers are too scarce and they nerfed district stacking, which was the only way to make up for it. I get why they did it, but everything takes too long to build.

It's the best Civ game at launch yet, so sure.

Am I the only one who likes 1UPT?

That's only part of the problem though.

The AI hates 1UPT.

The AI in this game is totally fucked.

Every single game without fail I will have at least two civs declare war on me, regardless of anything, even if they were currently friendly with me. It's like you've just crossed some invisible trigger every single time.

The same civ might even declare war on me 3 times in a game and I get fucked over with warmonger penalties if I react or try and anticipate it.

5 was not worth it at launch neither is this one

>politically correct
What

I once had Norway declare on me near the beginning of the game from the other side of Pangaea and refuse under any circumstances to end the conflict for like 5000 years. He was trailing hard behind everyone in science and culture and I never actually saw him for most of that time. In the early Renaissance an enormous mass of unupgraded horsemen showed up at my doorstep.

The warscore system and the AI have some flaws.
