Give me one good reason why you are still playing pre-chewed and calculated, colorless corporate AAA products instead of indie games where the true innovation lies.

I get tired of playing 2D games sometimes
I don't care about innovation.
I do play indie games, though. Some of them are very good!
I wish there was more of a middle ground between AAA and indie
But that's literally the opposite of what I do.
Lovely. There's some hope
And yeah, everything non-AAA, non-indie is pretty much dead today.
most indie games are the artistic equivalent of someone's first doodles in a sketch book, except they thought to release it for sale before getting any good at it
True for most stuff on Steam for example. Way too many bad games released weekly. That's a pity, because gems get buried easily.
One of the favorites from last years
...
But I don't buy Triple A games anymore
AAA killed the small businesses level. They always get bought out. Last time we had a mid budget company it was CD Projekt back when they still were a small Polish team and not purchased and outsourced.
This looks interesting, what is it?
Prison Architect. GOG
So. Good.
is this on vita aswell?
>realize I haven't played a "AAA" game since bayonetta 2
huh.
Currently Steam only, but will be coming to Switch eventually.

This game is early access done right
what game?
You're supposed to cherish and take care of Satsuma, not start engine fires.
Teimo is bae.
My Summer Meme
It's 1995, at the start of Finnish summer. To keep yourself occupied during the long days, you've collected all the parts you need to work on a project car. Piece it back together, drink copious amounts of beer, and work a series of odd jobs to pay for groceries and aftermarket parts. Awaken your inner amis.

Alright, I'll bite. I'm interested in this game, name/storelink/platform?
He made a thread earlier, Grab the Bottle.
this
And by earlier, I mean this one.
Steamworld Dig was meh
Grab the Bottle
Steam: store.steampowered.com
Currently on early access, releasing in ~2 months.
Hmmmm... I wonder who could be behind this thread
Hmmmmm
>2D platformers
>simple puzzle games
>narrative-driven experiences
>roguelites
>empty horror titles with assets that wouldn't stress a PS2
>half-developed aimless open world games
These genres are all saturated right now, and I've seen little sign of indie devs moving into anything that requires more effort.
That said though, indie devs with the money and manpower to make games beyond these genres generally just turn into regular published developers anyway.

I love this game, such a great time sink.
True, this is pretty much it. Luckily some of those games are super well done, take Hollow Knight as an example.
Standing out of the crowd is still very difficult even if you have a quality product.
any Kero Blaster fags?
