thanks for the bumps :)

Goodbye, you mutie fuck,

>Not Fantastic

Shit taste

y tho

These threads are literally better than 80% of the OPS currently in the catalog, which is all botw, zero horizon dawn switch shitting and other console war shit.

Fucking kill yourself.

Le go

Wanted to see how quick the survivalist rifle put em down. Time to reload my save and not be an asshole

Did New Vegas go on sale or something? Because it seems like there's been a fuckton of threads lately.

So we always talk about how much we love NV but what are some things you don't like?
For me it's cybernetics not being visable at all and giant matises being so weak
Like c'mon, praying mantises are rad, don't do me dirty like this

Is there any mod that rebalances the damage system? Why do mini guns feel like nerf guns?

Doing the Master's work user.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

Which ever vault it is with those plant people and mantises were horrible early game, each hit was a crippled limb

I know it's mostly a bethesda thing

But the heavy weapons don't feel very satisfying to use...they feel so light.

Bear traps, hacking and Vegas being so small outside Freeside. They should've at least added some generic buildings to make it feel more like a ruined city

It just takes one thread to ignite the desire to replay the game

The threads are sustained from people trying to start or progressing

Vault 22.

>tfw you learn to let go

The entirety of Dead Money gameplay wise.

project nevada is what i've been using and everything becomes pretty lethal and usable to a decent extent.

Makes deathclaws literally terrifying with 1-2HKO

the threads never really stopped

Considering the board is just full of "X is wrong with the switch btfo" "rate my zelda" "" at the minute sane people will fall back to shit they know and feel safe with, we'll probably have more VtmB threads soon too.

This

An optimized build can make it very easy, but nothing can make wandering around identical dimly lit buildings fun

this
If you don't have any points in stealth Dead Money sucks ass and even if you do it still sucks ass

>Decided to turn off Auto-saving since I normally save every few seconds
>Go into Vault 22
>Saved when I took the quest to explore there
>Start fighting the evil plant people and finding out what the fuck happened
>Died when I went inside that cave with a bunch of deadly plants
>Reload
>Back at the beginning
>mfw an hour of exploration is gone

>tfw you dont let go and instead bring every gold bar not using console, hacks, or mods. but an exploit in the scenery,

I don't like that whichever dlc I have now gives you tons of shit at the start, hardcore mode isn't even difficult with the canteen.

I put all the weapons and shit in the saspa crate in docs house.

>tfw 95% of meme criticism thrown at the new zelda game like lack of enemy variety apply to NV too

Post ya couriers and what you're doing right now
>Harper
>NCR lapdog run
>Clearing up some side quests before going to the dam with my trooper buddy.

You should turn off auto-saving anyways and grab CASM. For some reason actually not even for some reason, it's just shitty Gamebryo engine the built in auto-save has a tendency to corrupt so you're better off manually saving or using something that auto-manual-saves like CASM.

Because he won THE lottery

How viable is this as an endgame sidearm? Planning a cowboy crit build and am probably going to play on Hard/Very Hard JSawyer.

Why not use a Ranger Sequoia instead?

gay

Does anyone have the pastebin mod list that was posted some time ago?

>whichever dlc I have now gives you tons of shit at the start
Courier's Stash DLC is broken, you were supposed to get only 1 weapon and 1 outfit (or none at all), but instead it just gives you all 4 bonus packs at once because the devs were too lazy to implement a selection menu.

fuck me papi, sick of fo4

There are a surprising amount of images of powered armored individuals engaging in some form of romantic activites and one of said individuals coming to the stark realization that the other member of said romantic activites is in face, male
And by that i mean theres another one with some enclave dudes that i can't find

As vain as it may be, I still hope for better days for the Fallout series. Reinstating a skills system and the style and setting of the Black Isle/Obsidian games is not too wishful to me.

>tfw trying to do the encalve side quest with gannon and get most of the people but during my run I accidentally'd the vertibird pilot in Novac and I spent like two hours trying to get the quest to work.

Fuck what a stupid an autistic quest that is always so buggy.

what's the best radio mod?

>Never ever played missed new vegas before, too lazy to set up mods.
>Dedicate all of yesterday to getting mods up and running
>mfw it's a whole new, better, game
Also I'm doing a legion run this time with a few legion overhaul mods

I've been considering just upgrading, but I really like the gambler's aesthetic of Lucky. Seems more appropriate for my character.

>"accidentally" commit murder
>"lol wtf quest is broken"

Pretty sure we're buggered lad.

Any weapon is viable. You can beat the game with the Hi Power you get at the beginning of the game

Lets go

I guess What I mean is that it should have just said that the quest was failed or that there was no option to do anything or GANON SHOULD SPEAK UP WHEN WE COME ACROSS THE CORPSE OF SOMEONE HE KNEW CLOSELY OR HAD SOME REACTION

>taking a picture of your screen with your phone to upload it to a Manchurian Pottery website
Why

>Location designer Dini McMurry commented on the inspiration for this location, saying, "The inspiration for it came from when I was at the University of Oregon, every Saturday there was a guy who stood on a corner of the campus where everyone walked by. He had a personal microphone and speaker and would just babble on and on about one government conspiracy theory or the other. The radio shack was what I imagined he would have put together if he upgraded from travel speaker to pirate radio."

I'm a plan who is at uni right now. Dumb phone poster I know. It's actually a screenshot of a video sending to my friend showing him a mod. Please just end me.

Rollie pollie Ollie

what did he mean by this

SMELL THAT AIR

Since we actually have some decent discussion going on in this thread, can we talk a little bit about the music in New Vegas?

We all know that the default radio songs weren't chosen randomly, and that all the songs are symbolically linked to either characters or themes in the game. Most of them are fairly obvious, like Ulysses being Johnny Guitar, but I've always been curious about Big Iron, specifically the identity of Texas Red.

The Arizona Ranger obviously refers to the NCR, and the "Big Iron" at his hip refers to the NCR-aligned Courier, the greatest weapon the NCR has in the Mohave. Texas Red isn't quite as clear. You might think maybe Texas Red refers to the Legion, since they're the greatest thread to the NCR in the Mohave, yet the Arizona Ranger is the aggressor in the song, and Texas Red has really done nothing wrong (he's claimed to be an "outlaw", yet all his kills are in self-defense). Obviously this isn't a strong parallel with the Legion, who are hardly passive and defensive, they're constantly on the attack. So who IS Texas Red? My only guess is that Texas Red refers to the Wastelanders or Tribals of the pre-NCR Mohave, who are getting pushed around by the NCR.

What do you guys think?

i think you should stop being a faggot

>yet all his kills are in self-defense
???

>fucking rekt those Legion faggots and their gay Fox in Nipton
>dickass assassins coming after all across the Mojave
>tear through most of them
>get the quest to go see Cass from Jean-Baptiste
>travel to the gas station down the hill from the Ranger monument
>Legion faggots come after me again
>one of them has a Hunting Rifle
>kill all of them but him and he just wrecks my shit from far away

God damnit its happened like 6 times..by the way should I kill or save Cass?

Jingle Jangle used to make me want to kill somebody but now I like it

She isn't worth keeping unless you like her as a character.

You guys could've let me know ahead of time that this is a meme game

Save Cass
and yeah the hunting rifle has always been one of the better guns in fallout

>Fallout New Vegas
>Released October 19, 2010
>Skyrim
>Released November 11, 2011

>and Texas Red has really done nothing wrong (he's claimed to be an "outlaw", yet all his kills are in self-defense)
This retarded "nothing wrong" meme has collectively lowered Sup Forums's IQ

Thank you Mr. Pence.

FISTO FIST!!

every now and then Sup Forums gets a month or two of consistent new vegas threads, which then dial back to the rarity of STALKER threads until someone makes this OP again

NV threads are the best on Sup Forums. you've got
>people telling you to stop talking about vidya
>fallout 3 - NV comparison
>faction discussion, which is GOAT
>swanick posting
>almost mistook you for a raider, i did
>mod discussion
>courier posting
>fallout 1 & 2 discussion

and more. i love seeing these threads.

Speaking of which I'm running through fallout 2 and that shit is a bitch. I have decent small guns at around 50% skill but I cant hit shit more than 4 tiles away with a gun that i meet the strength req. At what point do i get ot consistently hit something at range?

the big iron is clearly the ranger seqoiua

I also think you're reading too much into it, since the song wasn't written with the game in mind. still it fits I guess.

>tfw best song is in worst game
"don't they know its the end of the world" deserved better than this.

80ish% and even then, it's unlikely you'll hit the broad side of a barn at 100% unless you're using a more accurate weapon.

FO4 has the worst fucking radio stations. God damn, I have never been so mad at a soundtrack before.

But the legion is Texas Red user, the whole point is that the ranger had a problem with Texas Red due to him being an outlaw which by the ranger's way of life meant that he had to take him back alive or maybe dead. The legion before the battle of hoover dam would express no ill will towards the NCR the problem is the legion's ideology. It is because the legion stands against everything a democratic nation stands for that the NCR is committed to taking it down as much as the ranger has to take down Texas Red for being an outlaw. The point being that when one exists it contradicts the others way of life.

speaking of songs, are there any mods that let the player make their own custom radio stations?

Isn't FO4 music just FO3's with a couple of new tracks?

>are there any mods that let the player make their own custom radio stations
I'm sure there's a tutorial out there somewhere. It's just an .ogg playlist on random.

Yep. For DCR anyways. First mod I grabbed and the only worthwhile one since there are no good mods for FO4 was one that extended the radio playlist.

hunting rifle with 100℅ and high PER is a reckonable force with how often you get 95℅ on eye shots

then again, that's from my F1 playthrough

I liked it, it was lazy of them to reuse half the songs from 3 but whatevs. travis quest is half decent too, beats 3dog.

the real bullshit is when you save the radio drama guy and the mutant, find him later in the studio, yet they seem to have missed the fact they arn't broadcasting. (they are not GNR/silver shroud.)

when will beth stop making half a game?

>tfw this song wasn't in Fo4
youtube.com/watch?v=25Ik6jNR5YA

It would have literally been the most perfect song they could have added to the soundtrack, and they didn't do it.

>travis quest is half decent too
No, it isn't.

>beats 3dog
At least 3dog had semi-original music and killing him didn't make the radio station worse.

At least we can admit Lynda Carter's song were good, right?

Fair point, but I can't imagine how difficult it is to get permission for Sinatra's stuff. NV basically had to dance around mentioning Elvis at all, in comparison, because of how expensive it coulda been

The engine, it gives a lot less reason to use some of the more fun weapons
Apart from a few moments (Battle for Hoover Dam, Exterminate the White Legs, etc.) there aren't enough enemies to really mow them down with miniguns, grenade machineguns or the Fat Man
Vegas being boring to explore. Say whatever you want about Fallout 4, but Boston itself was fun to traverse and explore. They really nailed the ruined city feel. Vegas doesn't have that.
Gunplay being arse. Something Fallout 4 also did better.
The lack of Vaults still in actual use. Vault 21 is a hotel and behind a fuckload of loading screens

This also, the minigun and gatling laser dont feel like they are capable of doing much, even when they most certainly are

There's only one song I like to hear in FO3 and thats "I Don't Want to Set the World On Fire" other than that I'd rather listen to gunshots. Butcher Pete would be ok but goddamn its played every other song, now I just associate it with running through boring metro tunnels.

>the one character that actually develops throughout the game
>"its still shit"
ok?

>3dog
killing him should have made the station go offair but it didn't so, I don't see the argument.

voilin lady is best vannila station anyway, its not bugged like 3dog. (new save: roll out that water! oops wait, that hasn't happened yet.)

Is that the stupid shit from the chick in Goodneighbor? If so, it's better than the original stuff in NV, but still bad.

Now you can associate it with "Totally Not FarCry set in the Bethesda Fallout Universe" complete with Part Deux.

>go from annoying faggot to annoying fuccboi
>much character development
Yeah, no.

>killing him should have made the station go offair but it didn't so
No, it shouldn't have? He's not the only employee of GNR.

rolling for new playthrough

I like the bass sax solo in Butcher Pete too much to hate it.

Someguy quests are really good for Big Guns characters.

>travelling across a narrow train bridge deep under a mountain
>glowing ones emerge and lead a feral horde down the narrow path
>look behind
>ghouls rushing from the other direction
>take out gatling laser with overcharge cells and the perk that makes killed enemies detonate

become doomguy
