realistically, where can nintendo go from here?
Realistically, where can nintendo go from here?
switch has a lot of potential
here's to hoping mario odyssey will be good
In le toilet. lol
Please upvote.
only higher.
Honestly they should have went full handheld mode and developed home games on pc/other consoles
This.
When you're at the bottom there is only one direction they can go.
+0.10$
third party. People like the games but nobody wants to shell out a few hundred dollars of piece of shit hardware for something that will have minimal third party support and no games like RDR2/GTA
Its the usual case of 10/10 games but 0/10 hardware and business practices with Ninty.
Its a shame.
Up...if they know what they're doing. 230-200 buck switch without the dock by the holidays nintendo
Though if nintendo does sink v will have one less thing to complain about and sony and ms fans will be stuck with each other forever.
Nah nintendo would simply take all their games with them if they bailed out instead of becoming the next sega. Or to seriously spite all those wanting to become 3rd party.
Release monster hunter exclusive for it and maybe pokemon and it would literally print money. That's what i'd do anyway
A new Monster Hunter is a certainty. Hard to say how much longer they'll support the 3DS.
>implying anyone would be interested in Monster Hunter when you have to pay to play online
Maybe one day Nintendo realises that their consoles are holding their games down.
Even if Monster Hunter was on other consoles, you'd still be paying to play it online.
Other consoles have third party support though.
Considering that the Switch cannot possibly do worse than the WiiU (even the lel 80k console sold in UK are more than what they sold with the WiiU in the same timeframe), they will just keep their (profitable) business model as it is, maybe expanding more in the smartphone market to leverage on their brands while opening to new markets.
People thinking they'll go third party any time soon are delusional
How many years do they even expect the switch to last? It's just marginally stronger than a Wii U. How is it suppose to get the support from all these third party devs?
Going mobile is third party
Why do they always put the cart ahead of the horse? The switch should have came out in like 6-7 months from now.
That said, it'll probably be fine come holiday 2017.
have a (You), buddy
They'll most likely begin to market it as a 3DS successor that can also be played on a TV, if it doesn't pick up in sales enough to attract third parties
I thought the games weren't actually developed by Nintendo, and when people say "third party" here, they mean "Sony"
>Mario 'With a new hat!'
>Sonic 06 setting
>Gonna be good
For most people on Sup Forums, third party = PC. Which is hilarious since that's one of the last platforms that Nintendo would ever support.
>Peak with a software
>plummet with hardware
See you on multiplat soon
Except Vita.
I trust Nintendo EAD way more than I trust modern Sonic Team. It's going to be good.
The main market, japan mostly plays it locally though
2017 is already a flop for the Nintendo Switch. NO GAEMS besides BoTW and Odyssey. Waiting for 2018.
Nintendo really wanted to launch it with Zelda, but I guess they didn't want to delay Zelda again.
Not anymore
Eh, Nintendo's foray into mobile (Super Mario Run was first party) is something they really did do years after saying that they wouldn't. Selling games on Steam would make them tons of money, provided they make new AAA games and non-gimped legacy ports.
Well, there next console could just be solid hardware with good games.
But considering that they're commited to making gimmicks one generation behind, 6 years from now, they'll probably release the Nintendo VR, which will let you play as Zelda and Metroid in first person, and it will be even worse looking than BoTW on their under powered machine and head set
Yeah but you have to remember Nintendo lives in their own weird little Japanese bubble. PC gaming just isn't really a thing for them.
Well, let's just wait and see. Capcom has been handling the servers themselves so far, right? If you indeed have to pay that a shame indeed. I don't play online that often, but it'll be a bummer for people with friends that play it
Splatoon 2 and xenoblade chronicles 2 are also coming out in 2017. As well as that fire emblem warriors game but I'm not really interested in that.
Overall, I think the switch will do fine. The 3ds is old enough now that they can start to retire the system. Hopefully they will devote all their focus to supporting the switch. If they consolidate their mobile and console development, they could potentially support the system entirely by themselves. They've teased a metroid game (hopefully good) and mentioned a Pokemon game in the works. You get those and maybe an animal crossing along with Mario and the thing is going to do well. Hopefully well enough that it will get third party support.
Into the trash where it belongs.
Here.
1. Become a dedicated handheld-only Platform(ideal scenario)
2. Become a third-party developer(okay if, and only if they retain creative rights over their games)
>Nintendo games are rashes aimed at kids
>ugh, why won't Nintendo become third party already!?
Are sonyfriends just tsundere?
