TvC was an excellent Capcom vs. fighter. Originally released in arcades. It would have done so much better if Capcom had released it on a console that wasn't the Wii.

The arcade platform it used was Wii-based, so it was always going to be on Wii.

Yeah. They could have still ported it to PS360, though, and it would have done way better. Game was amazing.

Casshern/Karas was life.

I'm more excited about the MvCi news that is accompanying UMvC3'a release.

Hell yeah, pre-ordered it on Steam weeks ago. Can't wait to destroy newbies with my top-tier team and make them refund the game. Mahvel ain't for the weak.

I'm hoping there's an online crack for Steam. Not buying this shit again, but I do want to play it.

MVC3 is far from perfect but people that rate it lower than TVC are very wrong, so wrong I almost can't believe that you're a real person.

People complain about mvc3 combo length, but tvc had shitloads of literal and practical infinite in the original version and characters like zero and frank west that can combo you for 20-30 seconds off every hit. You can only do that shit in MVC3 with TAC glitch which is quite hard to get down.

TVC has lower damage than MVC3 so you spend more time watching the other guy combo you, but still enough damage that you die in about 3-4 combos like mvc3 because you only have two characters instead of three.

People complain about morrigan spam and yet TVC had characters like tekkaman or yaterman who's gameplay strategy could boil down to "land a single hit and then spend the entire round at the top of the screen where you cant touch me"

People complain about character imbalance in MVC3 and yet over half the roster has been on teams in top 8 and almost as many have won big tournaments. Depending on the exact version of TVC you play karas, a tekkaman/yatterman or zero and maybe use one of a few other characters as an assist. Zero in particular is hilarious, he literally has no flaws at all and all of the games poorly thought out mechanics that mvc3 doesn't have (like mega crash and weak assists) heavily benefit him while fucking over everyone else.

TVC is a garbage fighting game to take seriously, but it also fails as a casual game because it has a tiny roster of characters that largely feel weak as shit, it looks terrible and has one of the worst netcodes of any fighting game. There are literally dreamcast games that do it better.

What exactly makes TVC good? Let alone better than mvc3?

MvC3 trades solid back-and-forth combat for hype combos.

I dabbled in the Capcom games but this will be my first time buying UMVC3. How shitty is the team comp I want to do? Arthur/Shuma/Firebrand; open to using Morrigan

Just because you don't slowly shimmy back and forth while throwing out medium punches and kicks over and over doesn't mean mvc3 doesn't have back and forth/neutral gameplay. It's just faster and a lot more air focused.

Pretty bad. Arthur can be good with assists like shuma but he basically just throws projectiles all day and he's not even the best at that. If people figure out how to get past that stuff you'll struggle.

Shuma can be pretty good and has a good assist but you need to really practice his combos to do well with him

firebrand is ok too but only in the first spot, he has none of the advantages a typical last place character has and his biggest strength (using assists to charge up his unblockable move) is something best done when he's up front. Of the three characters to replace with morrigan this would probably be it.

Arthur is a good anchor and firebrand does wonders with mystic ray and arthur's projectile assist.

Maxdood reported that they didn't fix the shitty PS3 netcode for the PS4 release. Since this will support crossplay is this using the same shitty netcode or has it been confirmed to have been fixed?
