How did they fuck up one of the most iconic and prolific characters in the franchise this fucking bad?
How did they fuck up one of the most iconic and prolific characters in the franchise this fucking bad?
Let Troy Baker voice act him.
The fake guns in MGSV are so fucking ugly, holy shit
BOSS GIT DOWN
GET DOWN BOSS THAT'S AN ENEMY CHOPPER
MGSV fucked up everything about MGS.
ever heard of the Mateba 2006m, nigger?
explain the shotgun shells on his bandolier
>doesnt use colt SAA
>fires his gun once in the entire game
>hands his gun to someone else to show that she's a better shot than him
>troy baker
>isn't cocky or smarmy, doesn't even try being a cowboy past the intro
god I hate this
>Troy "I can only do one voice" Baker
it's not lighthearted enough
No, I didn't. Is there any reason you'd want a lower barrel?
Revolver Ocelot is a westernaboo and he likes the bandolier aesthetic?
Makes the recoil go straight back into your arm instead of in an upward direction, helping with accuracy. Looks pretty cool too.
This is what happens when you keep forcing a developer to work on a series that he clearly doesn't want to. MGS6 probably would have featured Balloon Snake as the main character and the storyline would have consisted of fighting popsicle stick soldiers.
This, fuck that fucking guy
Ocelot is the most overpowered piece of shit in MGO, especially if you use E Locator's or coordinate with a scout buddy!
ESPECIALLY ON BLACK SITE RUSH
Enemy marked? Ricohet off surfaces to murder a fucker arounda corner!
>Shalashaska kit includes
>Interrogation 3
>Marking 2
>Anti-Marking 1
>Tactical 2
>Field Report 2
>CQC 2
>Fulton 1
and depending on loadout!
>Fulton cannons, snares, petrol bombs, THE FUCKING RASP DB, A RIOT SHIELD AND E LOCATORS
Because Troy Baker. Where the fuck was the old VA? He was easily old enough for the MGS1 VA to come back.
I got to talk to some voice actors a while ago and apparently Troy Baker is an asshole
THE ENEMY SNAHPER
Ocelot's like in his late 40's in TPP. His parents both had white/blond hair, and his was platinum blonde in snake eater.
He's what, pushing 70 in MGS 1 alone. his voice would be too raspy.
why not just get mgs3 ocelot to do it, then?
just curious is MGO still active or is it dead as fuck?
>MGO
its still playable, but nobody plays the modes that aren't bounty hunter
Justice ain't gonna dispense itself
>You tend to twist your elbow to absorb the recoil. That's more of a revolver technique.
It all makes sense
As much as I like Josh Keaton, he can only do youngish voices. You'd have to get new people all around. The only ones that really returned were RAD and chris randolph, kaz and huey respectively. Everyone else was new, like Kief Chief, Baker, Time Winters. If you're gonna replace half the cast, go the full yard and get someone who has a more diverse range. Baker, while somewhat okay as a va when cast right, can't do many voices like Nolan North can. Baker is a "safe" choice. [not to mention Kojima was in bed with hollywood for the majority of TPP's development, spending half the budget trying to upgrade the fox engine, and taking pictures of his breakfast. As much as i dont like konami, both they and kojimbles are both at fault]
You'd be better off getting someone that can do Baker's voice, but a little raspier, showing the transformation into the revolver toting maniac who's ultimately the good guy of the series.
Because every voice actor in MGS3 (with one or two exceptions) are actually worse than anime-tier trash. MGSV has a different tone and therefore needed someone who can act better, and while Troy Baker's voice didn't suit Ocelot, there isn't exactly much variety in the voice acting industry.
this is what they call being a "hack"
Those aren't even Matebas. All the guns in V are made-up brands because they didn't want to royalties for real guns like usual.
Because they didn't pander to your headcanon
Weren't all the guns in V real just with different names? They also didn't have popular recognisable branded weapons like M16s and AK47s, I think they had enough with the gun porn.
or the actual canon
I don't have a problem with Ocelot switching guns, so long as it's a revolver. My problem is him going from an SAA to a Mateba, then back to an SAA.
Ocelot should have been another partner in the campaign. We could mark targets for him to take out with trick shots and grab enemies to interrogate, and he rides his own horse to get around. If he gets hurt too badly he just Fultons himself out.
Ocelot's revolver exists.
Nah.
The AK "lookalike" actually looks ugly as sin
He's okay, just typecast. I loved him as Joel in The Last of Us, but so many of his voices are just channeling Delsin Rowe from inFamous. It gets tiring.
He has a shotgun at the beginning of the game?
Have you played it?
They were "real" in the sense that all the guns looked like cheap knockoff's of irl guns, but "real" within universe. Some, like the Isando, HAL, rocket luanchers, the UN-AAM and some snipers look real, but everything else? cheap replacements with aftermarket parts. This would be fine if it could be explained in universe as DD and other pmc's needing cheap weapons by the dozens, but it's acting like these were always the weapons being used, so it's incredibly jarring anyway.
You can sort of mitigate this by customizing them to look like other real guns, (Like customizing a Geist P3 to look like a Ml.23 socom by attaching a light to the bottom and removing the extended mag and giving it a suppressor)
He was wearing a duster during that, and during the beginning of Phantom Limbs. Then he ditches the duster and straps on a shotgun bandolier while never using a shotgun again.
