Is the Switch better for me compared to the Xbox and PS4?
I have no interested in driving, fighting and shooting games on consoles.

Actual answer:
Probably
Meme answer:
LOL NO NINTENDO SWITCH MORE LIKE NINTENDO SHIT
Give me a normal answer.
Only reason to get a swich would be zelda, and it looks like the best version of zelda is going to be released on PC very soon (CEMU)
ps4 has very few exclusives (unless you like weebshit).
Honestly unless your PC is $2000 or something ridiculous I'd spend the money on upgrading the PC
If I had to pick a console I'd go for the switch hands down though
It's mobile with decent graphics for such, has gymmick hardware you wouldn't have on pc like motion and touchscreen , and has Nintendo exclusives you won't get anywhere else.
Only okay if you like the games lined up.
Little over 2000$ without monitor,mouse,keyboard,headset,VR
I also don't like to emulate things on my PC.
Definitely PS4 is the best option. It is the only console that has hardware worth it's money. It has enough exclusives that justify buying it. It has more exclusive on the way.
I'll give you an honest response. I am a PC/PS4 guy, and my PS4 mostly collects dust.
I know that it's an overused cliche, but Bloodborne really is the only reason I do not regret buying a PS4. However, on the flip side, what is there to play on the Switch right now?
My advice is to wait 18 months and see what the new Switch model looks like, because you know there's going to be one. And if there are some cool Switch games out at that point, that's when you get it.
Otherwise, take my honest advice. You're missing nothing.
Honestly, I'm in the same boat. Already have a mid-range gaming pc and was looking at console exclusives. The ps4 exclusives didn't stand out to me very much, most of the xbox exclusives were cancelled, and the switch doesn't have many exclusives. What set the switch apart for me was the portability. So I decided to get one in about a year when more good exclusives like mario are released
>I also don't like to emulate things on my PC
Is there any reason behind this?
You can meme but in all seriousness CEMU will be a while and piracy is wrong.
I am not buying a console for hardware like ,see this I am interested in the gymicks and exclusives but no racing, fighting and shooting games.
Are there like no good exclusives?
>I also don't like to emulate things on my PC.
Switch then hands down. I'd wait a bit though for more games to be released
>trys to tell a pc enthusiast to buy a ps4 for its hardware and exclusives
You can't be this retarded.
Then I still stand with PS4. It's better than the other options and has loads more games. Plus microsoft is moving to PC
Most of jap third party games tend to come out on Sony consoles so I don't know why you would waste your time getting switch besides for getting Nintendo first party games which in my opinion have gotten worse.
Why wait?
The console isn't going to rot.
Play Zelda now or wait for some reason.
Do you even understand basic english?
Waste of money incase zelda is the only thing which comes out for ages (you would honestly be mad if you didn't just emulate desu, but your choice)
The part about jap games is true. I'm not super into weeb stuff but if OP is he should probably get a ps4
What are the exclusive games I should check out?
I think its the feeling.
I prefer to sit on my couch and just play a game without setting up things on my PC or screen mirroring it to the TV.
Yes
You can buy a Switch and get Zelda.
You can emulate Zelda.
Xbone is for Gears and Halo only.
Ps4 has Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza series, The Last Guardian, Nioh, Persona 5, Bloodborne, Horizon.
It's up to you.
Bloodborne is the current king.
Within 2 months zelda will run fine. Maybe if nintendo didn't want me to pirate it they would either
a) sell it on PC
or
b) not charge to use the fucking internet on the switch
greedy jews
What games will come out this year for the Switch and also are there any party games that are simple for 2 people to play together.
When my wife and me come back home we sometimes would like to play some simple games to relax.
I like anime games but I have no interest on open world anime games or anime games that have only fan service going on for them.
Is bloodborne really as good as people say it is? it's pretty heavily hyped on this board. I've never played a soulsbourne game but from what I hear, they're just a pain in the ass
Toss-up between ps4 and Switch. I'd say if weebshit offends you, go for the switch. There's almost no reson to get an xbone though
So far the biggest games for switch this year are Zelda, Mario, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2, Arms, and Fast RMX.
Yakuza seams interesting game same like Nioh and persona 5.
Also if it helps I loved to play Monster Hunter,Ace Attorney,Bravery default and Etrian Odyssey on my 3DS.
>I have no interest on open world anime games
That's Zelda though
Could you tell us what your intended use case is? Why do you want a console? What games do you like?
no, wait for bit until games are actually released
ps4/xbox doesnt have a genre defining games, if you want their story watch youtube cinematics
>bloodborne
darksouls is in pc
I have everything but the switch and I play my Xbox One the most
I dunno get both. I honestly have no interest in any of those games, but they might switch release due to it being portable.
You sound like you don't belong here.
Well most for the exclusives and also to have a console with who I can play some simple co-op games with my wife.
I have easy money to buy all the consoles just I don't want to buy unnecessary things that clutter my living room and also I lack the free time to play everything.
>Is bloodborne really as good as people say it is?
it is not, theres a lot of games that have a better experience or harder than darksouls.
its an exclusive so people suck its dick and trumpet eveything about it
Bloodborne
Ni oh
Gravity rush
Yakuza games
Persona 5
And a few other games
Nioh is OK. It is very overrated, I think because there has been a drought of good games exclusive to the platform and Sony fanboys are incredibly defensive about it.
Yakuza 0 is cool, but it really is a 'movie game.' I don't mean that as an insult, as I like Yakuza 0. But if you do not want to play a Japanese interactive movie, it's bad.
Ratchet & Clank is OK. Not bad. I think it is one of the weaker entries in the series, but I'd recommend it if you have a PS4.
Gravity Rush looks neat in webms but it has about two minutes of gameplay total. I'm not a fan.
I can't fucking stand Uncharted. I think by this point, everyone has played an Uncharted or New Tomb Raider game and can determine for themselves whether or not it's up their alley.
HZD is genuinely boring. It's not like a No Man's Sky level of total disaster, but it's just another crappy open world game.
Bloodborne is legitimately great. Which makes it even more infuriating that they aren't making a sequel.
Bottom line is there is a lot of false flag / console warrior shitposting going on here, and it's probably made a lot worse by the fact that this generation of games pretty much sucks and unless you fucking love open world collection games and Call of Duty, you probably don't have much to play and enjoy.
I honestly probably don't. I'm pretty casual and hardly play video games anymore. I enjoyed skyrim and fallout 4. I've just been on Sup Forums for way to long to enjoy any other community. My heart lies with shitposting
It's not an online game anyways, also, it's on the WiiU.
It's not game of the century.
It's definitely worth playing though and I still prefer it to Dark Souls 3.
It's a weird hate/love relationship with Sup Forums. Like my ex
This dude gets it.
were approaching soulsstyle game burnout, souls game seems like cod at this point
So, if it's exclusives then it is entirely up to you to figure out what you want. Look at what has what exclusives and see which ones you like the most.
If you want something for Coop and to just chill, have you considered buying an older console? Dreamcast-to-PS3 era games are very cheap now, they have an incredibly amount of games for any given system, and all of those games are cheap. Particularly if you want coop going to an older generation might be nice.
And if you want my opinion on every current console:
XBox - Fun system, definitely limited in exclusives as everyone mentions, but Forza Horizon is the best racing game in years, if you like those. GoW and MCC are fun, as is the Rare Collection. Some games like Dark Dreams Don't Die I liked a lot, but those are definitely niche, and that one is on PC now.
As a multimedia box as well, the Xbox is probably the best system right now. It is also my preferred multiplatform machine as I strongly prefer the controller.
PS4: Great system, definitely getting a lot of good stuff this generation and seems to be gathering steam if anything. Bloodborne is a really excellent game if you like the Souls games (Though I still prefer DaS to Bloodborne). There is a lot of anime games and things like that if you enjoy them. Games such as Horizon are really fun. And the system is obviously the beefiest of the current consoles.
Switch - It has Zelda. It has a weird status as a hybrid right now, though I would not be surprised if they start moving more towards treating it as a handheld, as that is the market Nintendo is currently successful.
People are mentioning that they have a ton of games lined up for release, and have third-party developers. I would take that with a grain of salt as Nintendo is kind of untrustworthy in my mind. If you want Nintendo's First Party games though, this is where you need to be. If you want a handheld, consider a 3DS/Vita right now.
They aren't making a sequel? I thought people liked it. Why not?
This is starting to become true. I wouldn't be surprise if Sup Forums starts hating the games in like 3 more iterations
Which will be super annoying.
The sorry is over and from want to stray away from making soulborne games, I am pretty sure the next game would have sucked anyway like dark souls 2
>Only reason to get a swich would be zelda
>what is Splatoon 2
>what is Mario Odyssey
>what is Xenoblade 2
etc
>sorry
I meant story and i haven't slept in three days.
Fair enough. It's probably best to stop the soulsborne games before they become shit
Meh
I think I will get the switch tomorrow
I saw it has Bomberman and that seams kind of fun. Also I loved my 3DS so I kind of prefer if they make it more of a handheld.
Thx for the help guys.
Honestly I really hope the new mario is as good as the new zelda
Also not every game needs bunch of watered down sequels.
I can only hope that they made enough money from the Souls games to give them solid financing for their future work.
And even if he cared about those, they aren't out yet. No reason to not just wait for them.
Which one looks best to you
Switch
>Zelda BOTW
>Mario Odyssey
>Spla2n
>Xenoblade Chronicles 2
>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
>+other possible Nintendo franchises like Pokemon, Kirby, Yoshi
>portable gaming
PS4
>Yakuza
>Gravity Rush
>Nioh
>Bloodborne
>Horizon Zero Dawn
>Uncharted (HD collection and 4)
>Ratchet and Clank
>Persona 5
I only included games I'm interested in though (except for Splatoon) so you should probably look at the lists yourself. I'd suggest waiting if you decide on Switch, though, is what I'm doing.
Hopefully a "New Nintendo Switch" or whatever retarded naming scheme they go for.
That I still might recommend waiting, just because its always a gamble to buy first production run hardware. But, I hope you enjoy whatever you end up buying.
You should definitely wait a couple months. Buying the first version of a console is never a good idea
I feel like 60 or 70% of anons on this thread recommended the PS4, but ok I hope you enjoy it.
It sounds like it being a handheld sold him. Which makes sense if he wants a handheld. Unless Nintendo backpedels due to the Switch not doing well and releases a 4DS, I expect that the Switch will become more and more of a handheld as time passes.
Splatoon and Xenoblade 1 were disappointing, why would the sequels be any different?
THe PS4 that I have interest would be
Yakuza
Nioh
Persona 5
Switch games
Xenoblade 2
I found bomberman looks fun
Splatoon 2 (Doesit have co op ?)
Zelda
I think the biggest dealer breaker for me is probably the portable part.
I travel often because of my job and so having something to play at the airport or airplane is very nice for me.
I bought bomberman, just so you know it is very shallow. Story mode takes a bit but after it you are done for good.
Id still say get it because I love the guy and want to see more games, but just so you know.
Sorry for my english, I am just too tired think I got bed.
But thx anyway everyone in the thread.
If you like Dark Souls even a little bit, why the fuck would you not play Bloodborne? It's easily the 2nd best experience in the Souls series and definitely feels like a fresher extension of the formula than another Souls game.
That's a good reason. If only my PC was portable< then I'd never need another piece of tech
As much as PS4's library looks rather underwhelming to me, I do want to play some of the JRPGs that are slowly getting ported on PC, but it's obvious not all of them will be.
There are shortcuts, like for example buying PS3 for Persona 5 instead and buying trilogy compilation of games like Uncharted, Cuck of War, Uncharted with Mushrooms before getting to their PS4 rehashes.
Xbone is straight up not viable, Wii U is dead, if you want to get into that front wait couple of month before Nintendo sinks or swims with revelation of those mysterious 80 games that are being worked on AS WE SPEAK REGGIE.
Sure, I think that is completely reasonable, and that is likely going to be the Switch's strength. Still, might want to wait for first run Switches to run out so you can buy a later production run.
>Splatoon and Xenoblade 1 were disappointing
Objectively untrue. Xenoblade was a very good RPG with great mechanics and a colorful world. Splatoon is a blast with friends.
Yeah, people should wait for a price drop on this game. You really aren't getting much for the cash. I hope the next bomberman is better
>be jrpgfag
>buy pc because Sup Forums bullied me about having a ps3
>all the jrpg are on ps4
I(not OP) begrudgingly plan to PS4 just to play game since the whole game feels like sensory overload to me in the music, the fast gameplay and the artstyle.
Alright, OP decided already. Abandon Thread, People
modern jrpgs are garbage anyway
what the fuck else choice do I have but jrpgs?
western games are just trash like god of war
They were both boring as fuck
>I have no interested in driving, fighting and shooting games on consoles.
So what do you have an interest in? Just buy the platform that has the games you want to play. Specific games. Don't buy it on a promise or faith, it will probably be a mistake.
If there are currently no games out that you want to play just save your money and wait until there are.
There is no possible reason to buy a switch at the moment if you can emulate BOTW on CEMU or have a WiiU. Even with BOTW the switch is terrible hardware and isn't getting any new games for months. Wait until december or even later and then think about buying one again.
The better question is why'd you waste money on a "top of the line" PC when you could've been just fine with a PS4 or Xbone for a fraction of the price.
Regardless, the Switch isn't worth buying at the moment unless you need Zelda right now
wait for the switch +
it's garbage and rushed as fuck atm
>game isn't out
>you haven't played it
>its shit tho
It does have a lot of red flags but this whole hype culture needs to end badly. It doesn't benefit anyone except for publishers who rely on preorders to sell their games.
