Fuck, anybody else feels like 2017 is giving too much too fast? I don't have time to play all these bloody games and I want to play every single one of them.
Last year was way tamer in comparison, 1H only had XCOM 2 and DaS 3.

I was always more of an Unreal guy.
Out of anything about Sup Forums, weebscum like you are the one ruining this place--more than anyone else.

>he only plays superior Nipponese child rape simulators

Try out Quake Live if you're interested in something different. It's really balanced, but the weapons don't have secondary fire, so every weapon has a specific purpose.
Sup Forums is an anime website
It's a Space Opera, I have a softspot for that.
Don't forget dark souls.

Already sunk a good amount of time into Torment, it's an absolute blast. My only three critiques:
>Health economy is more annoying than challenging, due to the scarcity of healing items and the bizarre placement of rest points (ex., the only sleep point in the first city requires you to pay and odds are good you won't have the money for it if you tried to buy anything at all)
>buying/selling screens clunky/don't allow buyback, item transfer isn't "tedious," but is annoying
>Some quests "complete" when there is still plenty of possibility to intervene: see the quest about the Lover and the girl with purple hair, most frustrating "ending" I've encountered in a long time
Other than that, it's heaps of fun. My advice is:
>buy every single healing/stat restoring item you can find
>only sleep when you don't have any active quests RIP Qeek
>explore everything you can/do all the quests, you won't regret it
>the old guy at the start is a dick
Whoa There Buddy!

>Prey looks decent
I absolutely love Planescape, so here's hoping it will be half as good.
Only did the beginning sequence so far, but it was surprisingly good.
I never played planescape, but I loved the Numenara tabletop game (which is how I found out about Torment). The dated graphics/visual design were a bit of a kick in the nuts at first but they've only been growing on me more and more with each passing minute. Something just feels kind of... off graphically though. Can't place my finger on it but something in the actual way stuff is rendered looks awkward when compared to other games with a similar screen style (eg., Pillars of Eternity or Divinity, both of which are miles behind in story and actual interest-value)
>cant get into torment because it's like blatantly thievery with certain setting aspects stolen straight from Planescape and the setting sucks and the story is dull and I just dont like it
Also why is my character so fascinated with non-gendered creatures' pronouns, why is he so fascinated by this shit, literally every non-gendered creature in this game and my dude poses this question
>loves a Monte Cook game
>has never played PS:T
I think the default zoom is way too close for one.
Otherwise dunno, haven't played enough of it yet.
The Last Castoff looks like a SJW
u missed something user
>blatant aspects stolen from Planescape
It's a spiritual sequel you fucking idiot, no wonder it has similarities
Also, the pronoun thing you're on about 1) really doesn't come up that often, and 2) makes sense: how would you feel if someone referred to every inanimate object lying around as "he" and "she"?
The game definitely has flaws: your two criticisms don't really target them though.
Hello Sup Forums
I know, I know. I don't play a whole lot of vidya, especially not old vidya. Maybe I'll go back and give it a try when I'm done Torment; if it's anything similar I'm sure I'll love it.
Yeah, I play on max zoom. They did a lot of fine detail stuff, but something makes it hard to look at.
>game set in a bizarro, hyper-future but also past cross-dimensional setting in which swords, lazers, organic robots, airships, aliens, runic magic and tribalism come together
>why does the protagonist look weird?
muh dick
Plus Styx (love the first one), Yakuza 0, Gravity Rush 2 and Persona 5 for me
Oh and Little Nightmares late April. Maybe Rime will be good too in May.
It's not just similarities you fuck, it's a lack of creative writing that devolves into what I consider to be borderline plagiarism.
Even the Sorrow's little minions look EXACTLY like the Shadows that follow you in Planescape. And there's so much more it's embarrassing. The Deidra O'hour or whatever the fuck are gimmicky Dusters, etc etc.
I've only played a few hours admittedly but it just keeps happening, I keep seeing it.
As for the pronouns thing, why does my character fucking care? The setting makes it blatantly obvious that gender isn't a thing anymore, or at least not a binary thing, why is my character some idiot who keeps asking about pronouns like it matters? Clearly the robot has been established as being a fucking robot who can't procreate, why do I care what you call him or what (if any) genitals he has? Why do I care what a squid in a jar's pronouns are?
It's dumb and pointless.
>Maybe I'll go back and give it a try when I'm done Torment; if it's anything similar I'm sure I'll love it.
It's like a million fucking times better, just be sure to grab the graphics mods so it will run on new systems.
I wish I could have played Torment first; would have lowered my expectations.
I will concede that there are some similarities, (Sorrow guys was actually kind of jarring dessu), but it's not too too hard to look past them if you try.
I honestly didn't even notice the pronouns thing though, until you mentioned it. If it really bothers you that much just ignore the dialogue options; it kind of feels like you're going out of your way to be offended by optional dialogue choices.
Do you think Torment2k17 is still good? I havent played either (yet).
Fuck no, after 2014 I don't care how big my backlog gets, I never want such a massive drought again
Goddammit fukken turks, its been ages, RELEASE WHEN?
I'm not really offended, I don't buy into the SJW thing. It's just representative of bad writing.
And the thing is, I can't really look past them. I enjoyed Planescape Torment too much. Planescape did a great job of transporting me to another world, a world with a rich story and amazing setting.
This game... just feels like a pale imitation, is all. If you enjoy it, that's fine, but I can't bring myself to do it. In some ways I hate the game... because it tried to sell itself as one of my favorite game's successor, but it's so, so much worse.
>Andromeda
>Prey
>Horizon
That's your problem, with low standards you will be overwhelming with games to play every month.
Fair enough.
>if I don't like it you have low standards
2016 was fucking dead and every developer kept pushing their releases into 2017.
>pick 3 games out of 10
>hurr low standards durr
>pick 3 bad games that you like
>liking bad games => low standards
It's not that hard mate.
...
>they're bad because i said so!
Hmm
>my goalposts are moving on their own!
Dude, the guy likes different games than you. That doesn't mean he has low standards. It's very hard to say that some games are objectively better or worse than others, when the only value they have is subject to the individual.
You may enjoy games like Victoria 2, but to others they're just staring at a map for hours, occassionally building a liquor factory. You may enjoy games like Planescape, but to others its basically reading a book and occasionally rolling some dice.
Also, what he did may have been moving goalposts, but your original critique wasn't really valid either. If I like ten things, and you think three of them aren't good, that's hardly having "low standards." If all ten were bad, or even five or six, maybe. But three is a pretty small amount, out of ten.
