Music sucks

>music sucks

>you drown in water like GTA Vice City fast because of stamina

>barely any dungeons for whatever reason even though other open world games have real dungeons like Morrowind, Oblivion, and especially Daggerfall (the last of which came out over 20 years ago).

>the side activity of increasing your health by collecting heart pieces through exploration and cool challenges has been replaced by shrine orb collecting

>little enemy variety

>Fallout 3/4 world design where the map is mostly empty wilderness and 8 towns that make Skyrim's towns look big.

>a lot of the gear breaks after a few enemies

>bad artstyle

>mechanics which are taken from other open world games, but afaik Nintendo left out the more interesting mechanics some open world games have like skills/abilities, faction reputation/world reaction, and collectible books, which would have been a nice change to the Zelda formula. Instead, the game uses the more generic features from this formula like crafting/cooking to heal and Ubisoft towers.

> another "save the princess from Ganon" story

98/100 better than Deus Ex

Since when is zelda about art style or music?

Get over it. The new zelda is fun. Just because it doesnt cater to your autism doesnt mean normal people don't like it

It may be fun but that doesn't mean it's a good game or a good Zelda game.

>Since when is zelda about art style or music?
WW, MM, OoT, TP

also Minish Cap and LBW

>these zelda games had maybe 1 good song each so all of zelda is entirely reliant on music

>20fps
>720 or 900p
>AWFUL ps3 era graphics
>4 dungeons
>all dungeons look same
>can beat the game in 12 minutes
>bosses are 50% reskins
>even worse combat than twilight princess
>weapon durability
>5 magic spells (all shown at E3)
>terrible voice acting
>walking simulator thanks to big empty world
>few "towns" with 4 buildings each
>menus every 5 seconds
>no enemy diversity
>stamina bar
>hard mode is paid DLC
>literal fucking ubisoft towers
>poor soundtrack
>final boss doesn't even move
>amiibo exclusive items including fierce deity set

All of your points are valid except:

>bad artsyle

objectively wrong.

Ocarina of Time is literally entirely reliant on music
Majora's Mask's main mechanic is reliant on the ocarina- music
TP has the largest and best musical score out of all the Zelda's
WW is literally carried by it's Art style

You forgot to mention how sexist it is, OP.

>da ber

>Since when is zelda about art style or music?

That's like two of its best features.

Don't fucking reply at me you bigot

It just looks like the bloom/hdr effect spammed over everything

He's still just mad that Link is blond.

I've yet to see a game that has not had a thread just like this.

Unless of course it actually sufficiently sucks to the point that people make a thread proclaiming how good it is.

Anyway OP, what are the best modern games in this genre which you would recommend?

This, the game is 10/10 and Imo the best zelda by far just due to the fun factor. The majority of the complaints I've seen are just whiney people who have nothing better to do

the witcher 3 and GTA 5 are both pretty good

there are a bunch of older open world games/open world RPG's that are pretty good in general like Might and Magic, New Vegas, and most of the Elder Scrolls like Oblivion, Morrowind, and Daggerfall

Durability, FPS drops and lack of reasonable progression are what's keeping it from 100

>>you drown in water like GTA Vice City fast because of stamina

BUllshit, you dont have stamina in GTA vice city, you just drown

>real dungeons like Morrowind, Oblivion, and especially Daggerfall
>enter the dungeon
>kill everyone
>no puzzles or anything like that

>>the side activity of increasing your health by collecting heart pieces through exploration and cool challenges has been replaced by shrine orb collecting
yeah instead of colecting stuff in the wild you have to work for it now

>Fallout 3/4 world design where the map is mostly empty wilderness
the name of the game is breath of the WILD.
the wild is a empty place

>a lot of the gear breaks after a few enemies
yeah because its old shit. the good late game equipment lasts more

> Ubisoft towers.
towers do not fill the map with icons
that is wrong

> another "save the princess from Ganon" story
why is that bad? too sexist for your taste?

>GTA 5
now you can fuck off op

...

>the name of the game is breath of the WILD.
> the wild is a empty place
just shut the fuck, you can argue that its filled with those seeds from those kids or how the emptyness then finding something gives you a sense of exploration and reward
your response is shitty fanboy response

don't forget Zelda Botw, game's fantastic

Wew lad

ALTTP, OOT and MM are the only ones with 10/10 music.

WW has okay music, but TP is really bad

wild is a empty place user

>If the game has an empty field in it, it's SHIT

So no matter who loses, Japanese gaming industry wins again

As someone who was pretty skeptical, this is quickly becoming my favorite in the series. Though I've been playing it less like a standard open world game and more like Zelda 1 in 3D

>Pro HUD
>Ignoring all generic side quests, only doing the riddle ones and stuff like Eventide Island
>No horse

It's been a blast. Open world games usually don't do anything for me, but this is hitting all the right notes. But I'm genuinely confused as to all the people complaining about the music and story. So far (I just finished my first Beast, Ruto) I'd say this is by far the most fleshed out cast and world in the series, and a huge part of this lies in the memories. While the base plot might seem a little bare, all of the backstory is fantastic and among the best I've seen in Zelda. Then on top of that all of the compendium entries offer a ton of fluff. But seriously, what other Zelda game has a Link as fleshed out at BotW's?

All of the town themes are gorgeous, loved the dungeon theme, boss theme was amazing. I genuinely don't understand the hate

The first dungeon was a bit underwhelming, though I did love the concept of being able to 'pilot' and see it move mid-dungeon

>no horse
OH NOOOOO
OOOoooo nooooo!!!!!

fallout 3 and 4 have the most dense and interesting open worlds in the history of gaming. the fact that you got that so wrong makes me think everything else is dumb too

bumpo

But they don't though.
NV is much more interesting lol.

>music sucks
>"m-muh heroic orchestral scores!!"
spotted the pleb

You should play it before give an opinion

Yes!
Ditto my fellow Nintendo enthusiast!
