Necromancer. Always Necromancer. Maybe a summonmancer. Maybe a golemmancer. Maybe a poisonmancer. Maybe even all-melee, because why the fuck not. But always Necromancer.

Sorceress or gtfo

paladin in original diablo 2 was OP

build resistance and high def and no one can touch you. granted, your only real offensive ability was that thunder strike move that I can't recall, but it was funny watching people die to me when they thought pking a paladin would be easy

arr rook same

Playing with assassin, just killed diablo. Clear speed sucks ASS, i can't even imagine to slumber through the next difficulty.

"thunder strike your only offensive ability" Assuming you mean Fist of the Heavens...
Zeal, Smite, Blessed Hammer, Charge

Paladins had some of the most OP builds in the game specifically for boss killing and pvp. Hammerdins were probably some of the strongest farmers too.
The ability you mentioned isn't even in the top 5 of the strongest paladin build types.

Necromancer.
There hasn't been a single game since D2 where I actually enjoyed playing a fucking necromancer. FUCK. PoE was the closest one, but unfortunately it's still shit.

Recently started playing again and started with a necromancer. Hoping I can get enough gear to beat Uber Tristram before i stop playing.

trap assasin is my babe, fun and easy and you barely need any equip

always did one first in new ladders back then..

What's everyone else playing? I'll just use something to compliment the team.

"HAAAAAUUURGH" *woosh*

*snirkt, snirkt, snirkt, snirkt*

oh how i miss 8 player hc runs..

never made it to baal without half of the group dying tho

not to mention they can desynch with charge and basically turn invisible on the map during pvp. people that were good at this were a nightmare to duel. you just aimless try to find them before walking into invisible hammers doing 15k unblockable magic damage that no gear in the game offers resistance for

>with a necromancer
Original.

Never played this before, only ever played Dungeon Siege when I was younger.

Any mods necessary for a first playthrough?

No mods

I choose Bonfire

javazon or swordarian

What kind of build?

pallys only have like 3 viable builds though lol

Mother fucking druid.
Create fucking volcanos, tornadoes and rain death and brimstone everywhere.
Summon god damn spirits, killer worms, wolves and bears.
Transform into a freaking werewolf or jacked werebear.

I never had problems with them in pvp using a fury druid. I'd sit in the corner of the wall so the hammers would never hit me and wait for him to just teleport near me. Just holding shift and attacking would instantly vaporize the shitter.

Only thing I had difficulty killing were decent geared and smart whirlwind barbs.

this tbqh

I've always been a firm believer that every build had a counter or poor match-up in pvp

from what i remember a ww barb using a storm shield with max block and a grief zerker were pretty godly in melee duels

Yeah main one being smiters vs any melee. I rarely dueled them with my fury druid just because it was pretty pointless.

Near the end when I quit they started coming out with really retarded rules for GM dueling, like only having a certain amount of absorb gear, no poison, no prebuffing with alt gear, etc. Shit was dumb, glad none of that was around when I played.

>tfw you join a bunch of low levels game and butcher them all

Paladin, because I'm a faggot.

>being THAT fucking guy
fuck you.

I always laughed at those low level enchant HC games. They'd lure them outside town act 1 to enchant then just murder them all.

Yeah that and a shit ton of 32020s

I think we quit around the same time then. I remember people bitching about lifetap being proccd from dracs. Also no pre-buffing, LOL

>amazon
>I'm playing 1.09 or before
>assassin
>I want to be a paladin or sorceress, but I want to feel special at the cost of efficiency
>necromancer
>I'm poor and/or don't have friends
>barbarian

>paladin
>I'm farming
>sorceress
>I'm farming
>druid
>I want to be a paladin or sorceress, but I want to be completely fucking useless

Necromancer, obviously. I've never had friends.

Amazon in Heroes of the Storm incoming

Lighting trap and some in ice strke or whatever its called

None, boring ass shit game also not an RPG.

I don't like how any of them look.

>using charge-up skills

You are absolutely insane. Those were barely passable back in 1.09 when every other damaging assassin skill was a joke:

>kick skills that had no means of gaining damage (boots didn't give damage back in those times and nothing else added damage to your kicks)
>blade skills that did not do weapon damage
>weak traps that were limited to 3 at a time and with low shots per lifetime

i remember playing years ago and vaguely remember trap assasins being pretty dominant in pvp, the. when i replayed the game like 2 years ago i might've saw like one and it sucked. anyone know what happened to the poor girl?

Druid and Necromancer are the only things I really loved.

Whirlwind Barb came close though.

Fuck. I guess I do a new character then

I have never played diablo; convince me to.

it was for a short time right after rust storm. Then better builds came out and rip sins

Are there people out that there didn't pick the Necromancer on their first playthrough?

>trap assassins
>dominate pvp

No. At most, a lightning assassin will deal 1-13661 damage per trap, which is fucking awful. Any well built character is going to be supermaxed in resistances and absorbs, meaning you will literally be healing them with your traps.

bonebro

It's hard when all of the classes are unique and fun to play.

I can't imagine so.
That pick animation was the coolest shit for 9 years old me

I almost always picked one of Assassin, Paladin or Sorc.
