Yakuza Thread

No Yakuza Thread?

Have put about 4-5 hours into Yakuza 2 on PS2 at this point. I think if I didn't put 70+hours into Yakuza 0 I would be having a much tougher time finding my way around. The shifting fixed camera while traversing the city can be confusing.

Having a blast otherwise. Was worried about how the game might have aged especially having just played 0. Awesome. Fantastic music.

...

120 hours in Zero nigger

>all these people starting the series with 0

Do Majima and Kiryu fuck the blind chick's mouth at the same? Is that how it all comes together in the end. Just two peckers busting in a blind chicks mouth?

How do I into roulette? On yakuza 0

I actually didn't start with 0.

I sated with 4. Then 5. Then Zero. How does that rustle your autism faggot?

can i change my costume in 0's ng+ or is it premium adventure onry

You can actually change it after you beat the story. Just by continuing your playthrough go to the Real Estate office phone to change and for Majima the caberer club dressing room phone. You need to get the dlc costumes from Bob the clown with each character.

but if i start a new game with ng+, will i be able to change my costume?

can you visit s&m club on zero? this is super important

How do Kiryu and Majima manage to not kill anyone?

There's a small substory, but you can't go inside AFAIK beyond a short cutscene there.

>I sated with 4. Then 5. Then Zero. How does that rustle your autism faggot?

>Dude, look how retarded I am. u mad bro?

yes

Can all trophies be gained in Premium Adventure?

You're not a bright fellow.

Yes of course. PA is where you will spend 75% of your playtime.

I don't think the trophy for beating it on Legendary difficulty can be.

i already spent 70 hours on story mode

how much more can i possibly squeeze out in premium adventure

Now I'm confused. Thanks for the answers though, I'll just check when I get there.

God, I was terrible at fishing in 4 and 5. Now I need to fish to get Majima's Trouble Finder in 0. Any tips? Not there yet, but starting to get anxious.

Is Yakuza 0 playable for someone that has never touched a Yakuza game in his life?

No.

Play the first game.

Yes. It's a great starting point.

What? He asked whether it's playable, and it absolutely is, even for a newcomer.

I think it works as a great introduction to the series. Go for it.

This guy is a raging faggot. Zero is a perfectly acceptable starting point woth the series.

Yeah, just like how MGS3 is an acceptable starting point for the MGS series.

Here we fucking go ....

stupid old fuck

I played 1 when it was first released. Still have my mint condition PS2 copy.

Then I never played the series again and now I'm just about to finish 0 with over 60 hours in play time. I plan on finishing all the sub stories and stuff as well. Fucijng love this game.

You do not have to play any of the other yakuza games before 0. The only things you'll miss out on are a few little Easter eggs.

You're golden dude. Do it up.

You're just sad because you didn't play MGS in order because you're an underage faggot. That's okay though, I'll just sit here thinking about how good my time with MGS3 was because I had beaten all the previous titles (MG and MG2 included) and understood the story and all the hints to past games.

Stay mad bitch

Who the hell are you even trying to reply to?

4 to 3 to 1 to 2 to 5 to 0 master race.

ten years in the joint made you a pussy

Yakuza 0 is probably the most fun I've had on my PS4.

I plan on getting the remake of 1 once it's released in the west and then hope they remake 2. Otherwise I'll just go out and buy a ps2 copy/pirate it.

I now want to play the entire series

You're a fucking faggot, dude. It's embarrassing.

Shouldn't they (1-5) be played in order? I understand playing 0 first but isn't it one continuous storyline or no?

I'm ignorant and need an answer because I have 4 downloaded on my PS3 right now and I'm tempted to start it before the yakuza 1 remake is released.

No fishing masters ITT?

All these jealous fags who weren't playing metal gear solid until Sup Forums was jizzing on it.

Fucking embarrassing.

They should be played in release order, like you would do with any other vidya series, or hell, any other form of media ever.

He was joking. Yakuza 4 has a Reminisce mode that shows you the plot of the games 1-3. If you don't want to play the originals and wait for remakes, you can stat with 4 and watch those Reminisce cutscenes.

I fished once and I was fucking horrible at it. It's the only mini game I outright failed and I haven't played it again since

They should. That's the way I played them for the first time, though. I have since corrected my mistakes of yore by playing through them again in chronological (which is also the release order), excluding 0. Nevertheless I enjoyed 4 immensely even as a starting point to the series.

Oh I see. I've read online that Yakuza 3 is garbage. Is that true?

I started with 4. Beat it. Enjoyed it.
Played 5 because it's a PS+ game. Kind of lost motivation to play during the hunting Saejima section.
Played, beat, fell in love with Yakuza 0.
Now playing Yakuza 2 on my PS2 and having a blast.

If I had planned it out, I probably wouldn't have played them this way, but I'm not regretting. I saw the "reminisce" videos with Yakuza 4. I'm enjoying my journey through these games.

Everything before 0 is garbage.

How does yakuza 4 feel in comparison to 0 in terms of gameplay mechanics? Does it feel really dated in comparison?

What did you think of the main antagonist in this game

kill this..................dumb motherfucker

Thanks for the uneducated and shitty opinion.

lol I played Metal Gear Solid back when it came out in 1998.

Fuck I played Metal Gear on the NES back in the eighties. Didn't play the MSX versions until they were released with MGS 3 Subsistence.

You're a waste of life.

You fucking pig.

Is this your first time in this board?

You're posting like a child and I don't think you understand what people on this board do. There are lots of shitters here. Get used to it.

It's one of the more controversial titles. It's very plodding and takes a long time to get kicked into gear. Many people regard it as a low point, but most people I've seen in these threads came out liking it in the end.

It's the only one I haven't played, actually. Don't have time.

Yakuza 4 isn't that much older than 0. It feels very different, and some of the minigames (like Hostess Maker) have much less attention paid to them, which can make them boring. Not the user you were talking to, but I really liked 4, despite some of its flaws. It didn't feel dated to me at all, though 0 still is a noticeable step up.

0 is a lot smoother, so it might feel somewhat clunky at first to go from 0 to the earlier titles. Having said that, it's still far from unbearable. There are some aspects in 4 that I find superior to 0's, too. You really should give it a go.

Fuck all these dipshits, just start with 0.

No use in playing all that old shit when you can just play the newest game in the series and watch YouTube videos to catch you up on the stories in all the other games.

>he hasn't seen the video

youtube.com/watch?v=qC-w6bJiVjE

I can't tell if you're serious or not.

Let's stay on topic retards.

Thanks for the replies. Yakuza 0 has made me fall in love with the series and I now want to play them all, I'm just making sure it's still worth my time since everyone seems to think Yakuza 0 is hands down the best game.

Don't bother with the older games, they all feel clunky as fuck. Everything they do, 0 does better, so there's no point going back to them.

I think most here would say 2 is better, but yeah, it's a toss-up between that and 0. The PS2 games will definitely feel clunky, but I think you should be fine with the PS3 titles. I actually found 4 and 5 easier to control than 0.

>watching YouTube videos instead of just playing the games and having fun
This is the board for video games is it not? I thought people here liked video games.

>I thought people here liked video games
Have a nice first day

Been on this board since its inception bud.

It was a joke, pal.

Finally a Yakuza thread. I've been wanting to talk about 0 for since I've began playing it.

This game is fucking amazing and I can't wait for the remake of 1.

>inception
nice meme, we're not talking about movies here

Is it just because I'm early in the game, or is the Slugger style super fucking strong?

It's basically god mode. Once you upgrade it fully it's unstoppable. Literally no use for any of the other fight styles when playing majima.

Thought so. Thanks.

I'm just happy is finally getting some love.
I think 0 is the first Yakuza game that I don't fear will be the last one localized.

Mad Dog fighting style is so fun
>tfw Majima sliding around everywhere on all fours at mach 6

So where do I start with this series if I only have a PS3? Yakuza 3?

Helps that Yakuza Kiwami and 6 are already officially announced. I'm sure that would change if Yakuza 0 was a sales disaster.

The newfound enthusiasm for the series is great, regardless. It seems to be giving the franchise a second life.

How can I play Yakuza 2? Is my only option to go out and buy a PS2 copy or pirate it?

I have a PS2 so it's feesible I was just hoping they'd announce a remake of 2 after doing 1.

All of Majima's fighting style are super fucking strong. With a fully leveled Breaker, you can clear up a random fight with a single square 3x + triangle combo.

>see someone mention an Awano avatar in a Yakuza thread
>look it up
>practically every region except NA got avatars with Yakuza 0
>meanwhile I'm stuck with a generic one because none of the avatars available to me are ones I'd want

Emulators or buying it used/re-printed. Remake for 2 hasn't even been announced.

Sounds cool. Have struggled with that style the most so far, but I'll try to give it some love.

The head spinning kicks are basically unstoppable.

I know but it's been rumoured.

ya or try to get 1&2HD version but it's JP only

That's my point. If it hasn't been announced yet, they have to make it, release it in Japan, then decide whether to localise it, then actually do the localisation. That's at the very least a year off, m8, most likely more. Look up how long localisation took for past titles.

I'm playing Yakuza 2 with my PS2 with a 2 disc version burned copies. I have Free Mcboot installed on one of my PS2 memory cards.

The case of my original model ps2 is also modded with a flip top case.

Asked about a rumor. That story made the rounds last summer.

Why are you people so fucking dense?

That's not even a rumor you dumb nigger. If you actually read the fucking article, it says they're considering other remakes based on the sales of Kiwami. That doesn't mean shit; I guarantee you every year Sega "considers" making a sequel to Sonic Adventure.

When I asked for the source of the rumor, I was expecting something a little more substantial than a mention that the series is doing well, from 9 months ago no less, especially considering something pretty fucking big happened in the series between then and now.

Faggot doesn't understand what "rumour" means.

To be fair, when you say "it's been rumoured" that sounds like they've started work on it without having officially announced anything. He's right that SEGA considering something means very little.

>Hey guys, did you hear the rumor about Super Mario Galaxy 3? Nintendo considered it because of the sales of Galaxy 1 and 2.

Bought PS4 pro, bought Yakuza 0 as my first game, haven't played vidya seriously for a while.

This is hands down some of the most fun I've had in ages. I love this game.

You are exceptionally stupid.

It's fine as long as it gets them into the series.

>tfw Majima and Nishitani could have been best friends if that cop didn't kill Nishitani

>Uh oh, several minutes have passed and I haven't figured out how to refute his statement. If I don't respond quick, I'm going to look like the one who's wrong!
>Shit, better call him stupid, that'll work.
