What went wrong?
What went wrong?
Getting rid of Paul Dini, which is what gave Arkham Asylum and Arkham City their TAS Batman atmosphere.
Nothing, its a solid game on the PS4
Devs claiming that the Arkham Knight was TOTALLY DEFINITELY IN NO WAY Jason Todd. So fucking frustrating hearing Batman and Alfred trying to figure out who he is for hours on end.
played it recently and its pretty solid
they shouldve delayed it for a few months
The fiasco on STEAM and the PC.
This. I would have been okay with Original the Hedgehog just for this. They managed to write Quincy Sharp just fine.
Batmobile shoehorned into every fucking second of the game. Also no boss fights.
>Forced batmobile tank battles
>No bosses
>Deathstroke is a fucking tank battle
It was still fun but asylum and city were better by a long shot
Whats your opinion on this?
Hurr durr big secret Arkham Knight
You predict who it is halfway through
They treated people like retards, fuck off with your BIG REVEALS PLOT TWISTS. There's not a single person who was surprised.
I liked it, it's basically Arkham City: The Prequel.
Was jank on PC, but I think it's better now (there was a bug that prevented a certain mission from being completed, but it's fixed now).
Too much Joker, as always.
Gameplay wise it was the overabundance of the Battank when every other aspect of the game was better and improved itself with time as you upgraded Batman's abilities, even the APC chases in the Batmobile were fun in a Burnout-esque kind of way when you figured out that you can use the side dodge to ram the cars on your side and watch them explode. The first bat tank battle you have will be identical to the very last and the novelty of it wears off quick.
Story wise fucking Jason Todd ruined it. They promised an entirely new character but backed out for Jason just because he's more recognizeable, which really hurt the story a shit ton when they realized half way through that people not well versed in the Batman universe outside the games had no idea who Jason Todd is, so they had to start shoving Jason Todd's death into the player's face over and over during that time Harley Quinn raids the theater in an attempt to make the player care, but all it did was make it obvious to even those that didn't know about him beforehand that the Knight was obviously going to be Jason now.
Actual stealth and melee combat sections are the best in the series though thanks to the new thug gadgets, types, and moves they bring out, which just makes me wish all the more that the bat tank didn't take over half the fucking total play time.
batmobile=>getting rid of actual levels replacing them with city drive simulator
everything else was okay-ish
DUDE BATMOBILE COMBAT LMAO
Plus this
it's between asylum and city good
story is meh
I played it way after the shitty port problem got fixed and I thought it was fun, the batmobile combat wasn't as annoying to me as people make it out to be but I do wish there was more combat in general. I didn't mind joker either, sure he felt a little hamfisted but little things like hearing him comment on the super criminals you capture was pretty cool.
>All the theories about who he's gonna be before the game comes out
>Some people even manage to make some more obscure DC characters seem like viable candidates
>Amadeus Arkham and Quincy Sharp sound like silly options but also not entirely out of the question
>It's fucking Jason Todd
no Paul Dini is what went wrong
>Play it on my sub-minimum spec machine before the optimization patches
>Pulling out about 20-25 FPS most of the time
>Not exactly happy with it but it's playable and the game is fun
>Get to something like 97.8% completion, literally just the riddler shit left to do
>Optimization patches hit
>Think I'm gonna be able to complete the rest of it at silky smooth 30 FPS
>It turns into a fucking slideshow
>I'm lucky if I get 15 frames now
>Most of the time it's about 10
They also make it extremely obvious that it is him with all of the Batflashbacks.
Yeah but obviously we didn't get to see those before release date.
And Rocksteady were really hammering the whole 'It's an original the character we promise' thing.
I feel so bad for the people who got screwed over by the shitty performance because the game is really nice when you max it out and get a stable 60 fps. That whole situation makes me think twice about preordering or day one buying anything now.
I really like Batman. But expecting superhero shit to be creative is just silly.
I knew it was Todd, and I thought the implementation was pretty good.
IMO Arkham Knight had way too much bullshit filler content and not enough worthwhile new additions.
The reason why people love Asylum is because its such a tight experience, Arkham City was less tight, but made up for it by changing the formula and adding significant changes. Origins was a worse City and Knight is just more City with some shit bolted on top.
Knight has the Batmobile, the fear takedowns, and tons of content; problem is that the content just isn't all that great. Knight makes a strong first impression with its great production values, but after that wears off there's just not much here that wasn't done in the old games already, fatigue really kicked in for me.
Dog. People predicted it like 30 seconds after the reveal trailer. Then they lied and kept saying it's a brand new character.
Arkham City was pretty creative imo. I might be wrong and maybe it ripped off a whole comic book storyline but as far as capeshit goes it probably had the best writing.
Should have been Damian Wayne.
That's probably why they should make it the last batham game for a very long time, the formula is just worn out at this point and trying to slap more filler on topic isn't the way to fix it.
City > Knight > Asylum > Origins
