Since the release of DMC4 back in 2008 how many sequels or spin offs have there been for other game IPs?
Where is DMC5!?!?!?!?

NEVER EVER CUHRAZEE FAGS
EMBRACE THE SOULS
Assassin's Creed got 8 sequels during that timeframe.
>NEVER EVAR
5 Souls game and 1 clone
Disgusting.
holy shit
>Kaneko will never design demons again
>His art will never be used in HD
It'll be announced this year, probably coming out some time around late 17/early 18.
This should be common knowledge by now.
Its not set in stone, but yes Itsuno's game this year is very likely DMC5.
With the Deadly Premonition devs co-developing.
The fact that DMC4SE had DMC3 Vergil with Kaneko DT but no DMC3 costume for Dante kind of triggered me.
Yeah it's supposed to have been announced for several years now
DMC3 DT probably wouldn't fit 4 Dante's more muscular body
Both of Vergil DT's coat make them look big enough for 4
Its for real this time.
People thought an announcement was incoming because rumors were popping up about it existing, but now we know for a fact that something is being announced this year.
So what are the differences between story modes on the Special Edition of DMC4? Thinking of picking it up.
Literally just an opening cutscene and ending cutscene for Vergil/Trish/Lady, they play through the campaign without the story.
Special Edition is mainly just gameplay additions, they're great though.
none
You just get 3 new chars
>Vergil
3SE Vergil+4's Dante. OP but fun as fuck
>Lady
3's Gunslinger with a fuck ton of damage
>Trish
Setups and dial combos. Prenty fun
desu if it does come out this year, and it turns out to be what itsuno was teasing this could be the best year for vidya since 2011.
>persona 5
>nier
>vampyr
>rdr2
>botw
>gr2
>re7
>odyssey
>sea of thieves
and other games that haven't been confirmed for the holidays.
wew, feels almost as good being an idort this gen as it did last year.
You get motivated.
Capcom really is legitimately retarded for not having made DMC5 by now. Jesus.
What other video game company would refuse to make a sequel to a profitable game in one of their most profitable and iconic franchises?
Nintendo and Valve just off the top of my head. But you're right, Capcom is dumb as fuck taking this long. Not only with DMC, but they have some good IPs that they just left to dust.
Nier turned out gameplay wise to be more of a rpg then action game. Feels like rpgized Bayonetta with bad difficulty balancing and like 5% of the mechanics.
I just want a Crazy game that is good. DMC5 hell Razors Edge was still pretty bad but if they improve on that we could atleast get a mediocre NG4.
Its like i have to settle for Souls games/Nioh which can be hard but have the mechanic depth of a puddle.
During and after gen7 it seems like most companies focus on franchising 3-4 IP rather than making a lot of them
RE has more movies than DMC has games
RE7 is probably the only decent thing lately they've put any work into that is actually out. SFV is a fucking mediocre trainwreck of a SF game but they keep focusing on it like its sales will stop being stagnant when its done it won't sell giant hunks anymore just like every other fighter.
>Nintendo and Valve just off the top of my head.
Oh shit, you're right. More Valve than Nintendo though. I'm a huge Metroidfag so I really think they ought to have made a game but it's at least kinda understandable as to why they haven't done so yet.
Still.
The part I find the craziest is The DMC franchise only sold more copies as time went on. Hell, even 4 sold more than 3 unless we're combining 3 and 3 SE sales together.
Sales numbers only increase with no sign of slowing down so they decide to change the formula and kill the franchise.
Maybe they're running out of ideas on where to go with Dante, how much older can he get. They could have easily just made a direct sequel to 4 with both Nero and Dante playable again or even a game where you play as Sparda to defeat Mundus.
Seems really stupid to leave the ending of 4 so open just to leave us hanging. Just give us some fucking closure at least Capcom jesus christ.
But user, it came out already.
>mfw
I'm just getting a blank, what did you post?
actually 3 base game sell the least at 1.3 mil, but 3SE sells 1 mil
3's initial sales was shit because of 2's horrible reputation. SE comes out when 3's just confirmed to be great
If DMC5 is happening, I can 100% guarantee it won't be out this year.
They have Marvel Infinite for the holidays, which sort of have fanbases that might cannibalize eachother on some level. Also, a 2017 release for DMC5 means Itsuno would only have had a dev time of like 2 years, which is too short.
It's gonna be first quarter of 2018, maybe in a year or so. Dead Rising 4 was their holiday game last year and Resident Evil 7 their Q1 game. Marvel Infinite has already taken the Holiday spot.
>Maybe they're running out of ideas on where to go with Dante, how much older can he get. They could have easily just made a direct sequel to 4 with both Nero and Dante playable again or even a game where you play as Sparda to defeat Mundus.
This is what gets me. They seriously couldn't think of ANYTHING? There's so many directions they could go in. For starters, they could just retcon or outright ignore DMC2 and set another game a bit further in the future.
Capcom is utterly incompetent.
At least it's getting announced this year. I honestly just need a teaser. A fucking taste m8 is all I want. Unless DMC5 is not what Itsuno meant when he said he's announcing something. In that case, I will commit sudoku.
Itsuno said he was out of ideas after DMC4, so he wanted a break and made DD. He said he wants to make DMC5 now though.
After 4 Itsuno and his team was interested in the Dragon's Dogma project, so he moved to work on that (which is like 3-4 years dev time)
Then Capcom decide to go full retard and give the series to Ninja Theory for a reboot, with Itsuno's team as "supervisor" (while they still have to work on Dragon's Dogma)
So we could have get Dragon's Dogma, and DMC5 2-3 years after that, if not for DmC
I don't see how he could have been out of ideas when over half of the ideas that were supposed to have been in 4 were cut.
For fuck's sakes Nelo Angelo was supposed to be in 4 and they cut him. I'd bet in the first drafts he was the one that stabbed Nero for his DT scene.
Dark Souls would be ten times more fun if you could just jump
In the pachinko game (yes THE FUCKING PACHINKO), Nelo Angelo throw the Yamato to Nero
>I don't see how he could have been out of ideas when over half of the ideas that were supposed to have been in 4 were cut.
He was probably just tired of making them back to back, he went straight from 2 to 3 to 4. Felt burnt out.
>Its for real this time.
Not falling for this again. Everyone said that last year, not interested in revisiting that sad feeling and despair.
Last year had like a 50% happening chance, now it's a solid 80%.
No, that was just Vergil's spirit. I'm talking about the armor.
But yes, obviously that scene at least should have been included.
love playing pudge. lets go for rpund 2
The pachinko game isnt even real.
>So we could have get Dragon's Dogma, and DMC5 2-3 years after that, if not for DmC
This is what I've been thinking as well. I'd much rather live in that reality than the one where Capcom acts like they can't make a proper DMC5.
>He was probably just tired of making them back to back, he went straight from 2 to 3 to 4. Felt burnt out.
Yeah, I could imagine he might be fatigued. Still don't fault him for DmC. That shit was all Inafune. Fuck him.
DMC4 Knights' armors were made from Nelo Angelo's shard. Stated so in the lore section. That's why they are called Alto/Bianco Angelo
4 was a direct sequel from 1, that's why most of the enemy design are the same, with the Knights being part of Nelo
Souls is fine. It's just not cuhrayzee enough for most of the people in this thread
How can pachinko be real if our games aren't real?
I hope so user. I hope so. I've waited too long for this, I'm reaching middle age and there is still no DMC5, and in the span of 9 years Itsuno has only worked on two games. There's been like what... 10 to 15 Resident Evil games?!
I know, I'm just saying that originally Nelo himself was going to be there. Presumably the Angelos would have been reverse engineered there too.
Reminder that Vergil's VA most likely leaked DMC5 before it had even entered production.
That had better been the reason why it wasn't at E3 last year.
>I'd much rather live in that reality
We are just living in the worst Capcom timeline
There's an alternate universe where RE7 use RE6's engine while retaining the atmosphere, SFV is just released this year with all characters and arcade mode, and DMC5 and Dragon's Dogma exist with Dark Arisan expac released after DMC5 comes out
SFV was kind of sour, so they probably extended production and pushed back the announcement.
>There's an alternate universe where RE7 use RE6's engine while retaining the atmosphere, SFV is just released this year with all characters and arcade mode, and DMC5 and Dragon's Dogma exist with Dark Arisan expac released after DMC5 comes out
YAMEROOOOOO
Being a Capcom fan is suffering.
I hope so. It'd be the smart thing to do.
>Itsuno tweets for the first time since December
>To advertise the Capcom bar in Tokyo
>destructoid.com
>"Once the original DMC4 production was over , I was ready to be done with DMC for awhile, and it was quite good timing," said director Hideaki Itsuno while recalling his work on Dragon's Dogma. "But by that time [after Dragon's Dogma], I felt that I wanted to work on another DMC game, and the topic of the Special Edition came up and it was really good, it came at a great time for me. Also it wasn't too difficult coming back to DMC mentally after awhile. I had actually been working on some mobile titles for awhile before this. It was good to be home with DMC, it was a year and a half project, and and I really enjoyed it all."
Itsuno spent 1 and a half fucking year making the Special Edition for Devil May Cry 4.
If this wasn't some kind of testdrive for DMC5 and plans weren't already being made then DMC4SE would be a really fucking dumb investment from Capcom.
>Being a Capcom fan is suffering.
Tell me about it.
>MvC3 comes out with no spectator mode
>UMvC3 comes announced literally 3 months after MvC3 released
>Lost Planet franchise westernized
>Street Fighter x Tekken is shit
>Street Fighter x Tekken killed Tekken x Street Fighter
>Tatsunoko vs Capcom doesn't release on PS3/Xbox
>All fighting games come with on disk DLC
>DmC: DMC Reboot
>Resident Evil's core gameplay changed again
>No Monster Hunter on PS/Xbox/PC
>3 Megaman games cancelled
>Killed Clover studios
>Games like Onimusha, P.N03, etc are NEVER EVERS and characters don't even make a fighting game appearance
Fuck this marriage.
This proves our current timeline is fucking shit
>Itsuno finish Dragon's Dogma base game
>Return to make DMC5
>Back to Dragon's Dogma for Dark Arisen
>People asking for Dragon's Dogma 2
>Street Fighter x Tekken killed Tekken x Street Fighter
Oh fuck, I'm still mad about this one.
I've always wanted to play Street Fighter characters in a 3D fighting game, just to see how it'd be done AND CAPCOM MANAGED TO FUCK SFxT SO HARD, NAMCO'S BEEN DILLY-DALLYING WITH TxSF EVER SINCE. They literally screwed themselves over with that one. They seem to do that a lot.
>Itsuno: Ahem, I've many new idea for the next DMC game
>Capcom HQ: NO. Now get back to work on DDO.
>Itsuno: But sir...
>Capcom HQ: NOOOO!!! Now get your ass back to work on DDO, Itsuno. Got dammit. NO means NO!
>Some random faggot: I want to make a Resident Evil spin off FPS game
>Capcom HQ: Oh hell yeah! Now this is what I'm talking about. Excellent work. GREENLIGHTED!
How in the fuck...
RE is Capcom's Persona 4.
We are lucky that Capcom doesn't decide to make a rymth dancing game with RE characters
DELETE THIS!
don't give them any ideas.
Darkstalkers 4 etc.
Something gets announced every year.
We should start some kind of mass campaign to let Capcom know we've waited long enough and to get to it.
