Accept Gehrman's proposal to kill me

>accept Gehrman's proposal to kill me
>thats the end of the game

What the fuck? That's it? How did this game receive such praise? There wasn't even a fucking story, it was literally 'goout and kill some monsters, oh btw there are some aliens for no apparent reason'

The story is there if you dig deeper.

don't accept his proposal to kill you then

that's not gonna happen cause i'm not going to go through this bullshit game a second time just for that

Durr

I know this post is bait but what the fuck

maybe you should've picked right the first time then

>Op is still a faggot after 10 years deep
What did he mean by this?

>Guy says he's going to kill me
>Tell him that's okay
>wtf why did he kill me

It's sad that this is probably the mindset of the average gamer.

And to think, i got the true ending the first time.

>accepting death

You're just a quitter it seems

>beat ending A on Nier
>that's the end of the game
What the fuck? That's it? How did this game receive such praise? There wasn't even a fucking story, it was literally 'goout and kill some machines, oh btw there are some aliens for no apparent reason'

Who else killed Gehrman in the first attempt? Granted I was level 130 but I was expecting a tougher fight. had more trouble with the hunter in Grand cathedral.

Should I bother with the true ending?
Am I actually missing out on more game, or is it just a cutscene?

Gehrman is one of the easier bosses if you spam your gun for parries.

You should stop having such shit taste and play through the game at least 6 more times.

>accept Gehrman's proposal to kill me
kek

i found the 3 third cords but I didn't consume them because i figured they had a use

They do have a use, you consume them.

K
>1/3 of the umbilical cord
>there are 4 in the game

What did they mean by this?

If you thought it was fun, then play it again on a new character with new equipment and stats. If you didn't enjoy the experience, don't play it again.

Why is this so hard for some people?

>Soulsfags actually think like this

I think it means each one is 1/3 of an (not necessarily the same one?) Umbilical cord, and thats why you only need to eat three for it work.

I unironically did this the first time because I didn't know there were any endings besides fighting him or fighting him and MP so I assumed he would start fighting me if I said okay

>consuming them to become a infant lovecraftian god
>not a use

Three of them are from one umbilical cord. Iosefka's is from a different umbilical cord she'd eaten most of

he punishes people who hesitate, and he punishes hard. to beat him, you're supposed to play aggressively, constantly dance & parry. if you're used to that, he's a cakewalk

not understanding this made him and other parriable lightning fast fuckers like logarius tear me a new one in my first playthrough

>I was level 130
You grinding piece of shit, don't act as if the fight was easy just because you were 30+ levels higher than the game expected on your first playthrough and could tank every hit.

Not one that the game informs you you have to use them to actually pull off, since you can 'waste' other plot relevant items.

>accept Gehrman's proposal to kill me
>thats the end of the game
What did you expect?

>you can 'waste' other plot relevant items
False

>Not one that the game informs you you have to use them to actually pull off
There's a note that specifically mentions them, and they're usable items. Put two and two together.

The cords aren't eaten, you consume them like Madman's Knowledge and Coldblood, by squeezing them in your hand.

>since you can 'waste' other plot relevant items.
Like what? Other than using the fire keeper souls in ds1 for humanity I don't remember and important item in this game being something your can waste.

You can use the brooch and lock yourself out of the Gascoigne daughter quest.

This game sucks... thought of getting a PS4 until I saw this OP dumb ending for a dumb game

What does insight do?

No, you can end the quest even if you use the brooch, the outcome is the same.

Something tells me they just did the hand thing so they didn't want to animate your character eating them. Literally eating an umbilical chord might also cause for some unwanted attention.

this

The description on the cord tells you to use them in order to gain eyes on the inside.

>eat the 3 umbilical cords in the middle of the gerhman fight
>die
Did I lose my chance of fighting the moon presence?

Make you to intelligent so see the world like a sane person.

There's already an eating animation, you can see it when you consume antidotes. The cord isn't realistic anyway.

It allows you to buy separate items such as special armor, and blood stones.

No you can eat them at any point before Gherman dying.

Nah don't worry
You could've eaten them during the prologue and you could still fight it

Makes the first part of the last level even more artificially difficult

>What is the Red Jeweled Brooch?

There's nothing to 'put together'. You have no reason to believe they wouldn't be used at the appropriate time for some event, and their text implies that consuming them otherwise gives you insight, so I couldn't rule out the idea that they may be like the boss souls in DS where an NPC might eventually want them.

I just completed my second playthrough OP. Don't know what you're complaining about. It's fucking kino (I hate using that word on this board) but it truly is. First time I pressed circle because I wanted to go back and kill a boss I hadn't killed but instead it took it as refusing so I had to fight him

Well that's not helping but alright. Is it pretty much expendable like embers in DaS 3?

>and their text implies that consuming them otherwise gives you insight
>"Use to gain Insight and, so they say, eyes on the inside, although no one remembers what that truly entails."

The game straight up tells you that you need to use them to get their unique effect.

You can use it to buy stuff. But don't because you can find almost all the stuff when searching. If you have enough you can see stuff early. (Not going to tell you any more regarding that), I also think it can make you take more damage against the spiders or frenzy but I'm not sure. (What the fuck actually is frenzy?)

>What the fuck actually is frenzy?
replace frenzy with "insanity" and it makes more sense

Insight is a currency to buy certain items (from the messengers on the upper headstone), but it also affects things in the world.

Once you start collecting more insight, you see things in the world that you normally wouldn't. Technically, the doll doesnt come to life until you get your first insight. Around the 20/30 range, things start to get interesting. The downside is, the more insight you have, the more vulnerable you are to frenzy effects.

>what the fuck actually is frenzy?
Bullshit

>like a sane person.
AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

>madman's insight
>sane person

Looks like you're 2 intelgent for reading comprehension weeb

You get insight from finding bosses and from killing them, you also get it when finding areas relevant to the lovecraft side of the game. As well as the obvious madmans knowledge. You can use it to buy items from the insight shop right outside of the building in the hunters dream. The more insight you have the faster your frenzy meter will fill up. When you reach a certain level of insight you'll also see some spooky eyes on some enemies and you'll see the big monsters on the buildings.

Insight is also used to summon in players to your world.

I did it first try since I had just finished the DLC and orphan of kos was tough so going from that to Gehrman wasn't so hard
i think was at level 110

Wait.

I have a question.

Do people actually care about the """""""""story"""""""""" of the soulsfag games?

Note I said people, not embarrassing shutin troglodytes.

You misread my post. I'm saying that the more insight you have the more insane you become.

the true ending has an additional boss fight after you defeat Gehrman
i mean it's not really necessary if the normal game part is a slog for you but if you want to play again go for the true ending

The story is there if you want it. But its not shoved down your throat every opportunity, if you dont.

He was a bitch for me the first time cause I never saw a pro play and just was blind playing so I didn't know his ridiculous amounts of weaknesses. He's so easy to stagger it's laughable.

...

>He missed the best boss fight on the base game

>bought Bloodborne a year ago
>it never really clicked for me
>restarted a few times, stopped at the Forbidden Woods lamp
>picked it up a few months later and got hooked
>played through the entire game and 4 NG+ along with some chalice dungeons, when one game would end I would just keep playing from the start again without stopping
>platinumed it in a week
I'm going to take a break for a while and hope the DLC goes on sale again, but would starting it at level 200 and whatever NG+ I'm on now be a bad idea and ruin my experience?

same, I didnt want to use them to just gain insight when they might be used for something different later so I held on to them
I got to the end and just looked up what you can do with them

same with frenzied coldblood echoes, I held on to them for a while unsure of what exactly they did
the item description made it seem like it would have an effect of some sort

To intelligent

Someone should make a more insane looking version of that with eyes all over his head and a blindfold.

You haven't played the dlc?
You're missing out, big time.

Sorry

One has him wrapped in a brain or something. I think.

pretty sure the dlc scales with whatever ng+ you are on

howeverI think it might be best to start a new playthrough so you can experience the dlc at it's optimal challenge level

I picked the saw axe as my weapon but I feel like that was a misake

You can find the other ones really early in the game so it doesn't really matter.

I mean the first one I found was the saw spear which is pretty much the same thing. I wanted the cane but the whole whip thing sounded lame.

Nah the saw is the best of the three. The cane is my favorite because it's cool but the saw is strong and both forms have really good movesets.

The transform attacks (L1 mid-combo) are especially good.

Oh yeah, the spear is similar.

If you want to try the axe and the cane you can find an item that unlocks them in the shop. It's at the end of the sewers in central yharnam, guarded by a boar.

Yeah I was gonna go there because I'm lost. It's going to rape me isn't it

Sounds like someone needs more eyes.

Just KYS

130 is extremely overleveled for endgame. I beat the game at 65. Besides that, the Hunter in the Grand Cathedral (The Bloody Crow of Cainhurst) is the hardest NPC in the game.

I have a gf, friends and my own place and I care slightly you faggot.

>What is the Red Jeweled Brooch?
Not necessary for completing Gascoigne's daughter's quest. You can obtain the exact same outcome in different ways. Play the game before posting.

no shame i had to cheesed him

>remember key item
>remember visceral attack
I have no idea what any of this mean. These are outside Father Gassomething's door.

Reminder that Gascoigne only had one daughter.

The axe can carry you the entire game.
Spin2win can fuck up any opponent capable of being knocked back

Key item is music box you can get from his daughter that stuns him for a while if you play it
Visceral Attacks are your parry attacks

people are whining there's no autosave in nier.

so, yeah. if something doesn't play EXACTLY like their favorite AAA turd they can't handle it.

Well I didn't find the music box. Not exactly sure how the gun works but I think I parried him a couple time.
If this is anything like dark souls any weapon can be good the entire game.

>took the bitch choice
>got the bitch ending
Like pottery

>He didn't savescum

>"You will die and be freed from the hunt."
>"Okay sounds cool."
>WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW WHY DID THE GAME END NOTHING I COULD DO HAHAHAHAHA THANKS FROMSOFT FUCKING BUGGED GAME
lmao

So I just beat this asshole after 20+ attempts and I wanna know if the rest of the DLC bosses are going to be this bullshit. I've played all the souls games except for demon souls and it never took me more than 5 attempts to beat a boss only nameless king took me maybe about 8 tries. I don't even consider myself an expert or that gud but jesus fucking christ this guy was so frustrating to fight against.

I did have more trouble for the last boss.
