>not playing as a Paladin in every RPG
What is your excuse heathen?
Not playing as a Paladin in every RPG
MAGIC RULES
UNDEAD ARE COOL
LIGHT SUUUUUUUUUUCKS
I play the true bearer of the Faith, acolyte.
Too busy playing as a wizard instead.
Warrior is always the better tank
Healslut
I am not boring.
>tfw undead paladin never
I just want to have so much faith on God that i revive to spread his holy word on every other scum who refuse his existence.
Healer or Summoner
All day, erry day
Front-lines are for peons.
>RIP stealth
>RIP dark magic
>RIP morally ambiguous playthrough
no thanks
>being a self-righteous piece of trash with no powers of your own
>incase
I like them thematically but they're usually shit
Cleric is better
>Want to play a paladin in PoE
>doing so properly would give me exactly 0 offensive presence in any fight
>doing a more damage oriented build would just make me a shitty fighter with garbage buffs
>tfw No dancer/summor class
>that comic
Good lord almighty.
Paladin faggot, I don't mind tanks but tanks that can heal are for plebs
...
I almost always go for necromancer builds, then get upset because necromancer builds are almost always either debuffs, minions, or normal wizard but with evil damage, and I hate almost all of those.
Sometimes I go with paladins, but I find that I hate managing active abilities, so I almost always end up as a fighter.
...
What the fuck are you expecting out of a necromancer if not debuffs, minions and evil damage?
I'm more of a sneaky marksman myself.
Not the guy, but I kinda want a game where I can play as a necromancer tank
Focus on the whole "I'M FUCKING IMMORTAL(,) BITCHES" part while some skeltal minions and ghosts claw at your enemy's ankles
...
Thats a lich, not a necromancer. You got your archetypes wrong.
Also Neverwinter Nights had the Palemaster upgrade for evil clerics, it gives tons of armor and immunities.
The thing about this is that if the paladin's god is against undeath (as good gods are wont to be), then the paladin would be an abomination in his god's eyes, no matter if it was sheer devotion that breathed life in his bones.
Then i hope you played guild wars 2, user because thats the only game i can think of with tanky necromancers
You even get a radical lich transformation that mkes you even harder to kill
>Unironically being lawful good
Neck yourself.
But user, I DO play as a Paladin.
Deus Vult, brother.
That actually sounds kinda cool
>abilities focuses on repairing yourself or something
>make an object a phylactery so you can resurrect on death but the object is destroyed
because good wizards are better at being good than paladins
Thank god i played Divine Divinity then, where there is an entire race completely based on that.
Hell, they are racists one in Dragon Commander.
Also, bonepuns everywhere.
First post, best post.
thing is why go with necromancy for that
why not go with any other form of transformative magic that turns your body into something vastly more durable than bone
God, i really wanted to like dragon commander but the gameplay was so shit.
Especially the water areas. Incredibly tedious.
>Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor, compassion and selfless altruism.
>Lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.
The pros of lawful good far outweigh the possible cons, you chaotic fag.
But you are a wizard in real life, can't you roleplay someone successful in vidya?
I'm also kind of thinking about messing about with pet-tanking. Not so much having your pet act as a proxy-tank, but more as a co-tank, with abilities that let you split damage between the two of you, or temporarily summon another minion to take all the damage in your stead, or even tanking in two locations at the same time.
I am so tired of deus vult/paladin memelords jesus fucking christ
Sup Forums has a conservative christian phase for a couple of years now, and its leaking.
Just play on Ez and waste every turn doing nothing but making armies and pile them while farming cards, really.
There is no good no extra stuff on later stages on the game, you can do all the good stuff after you finish the tutorial and just having fun with the political system.
And you wouldn't mind to support those spooky skeletons while shitting on elves everytime because they are so retarded with their ideas most of the time.
Some people on here play wizard in real life instead
Because the only other option is druid shapeshifting and that's just boring "bear tank rogue cat tree healer/caster"
neutral good my friend of good intentions but poor execution
why let yourself be held back by ideologies in your quest to help folks?
the terrible thing is I like paladins as a concept but I've been hit over the head with them over the last two years now and I'm tired of DEUS VULT etc etc shut the fuck you larping faggots
>Implying a wizard would allow an enemy, no matter how vile, to re-arm themselves if they happen to get disarmed before continuing the fight
God, I wish D&D paladins weren't a big joke now. They used to be one of the better classes for roleplaying, because the mechanics encouraged it. Now they are the same kind of homogenized "You can be anything/any alignment!" bullshit.
>ITT a leaf
>Implying I'm chaotic
True neutral is the only acceptable path you cleric dicks gobbler.
Put your faith in the Light!
I miss beast masters.
first off, turning yourself into animals can be awesome if you get a pick in what animal, an elephant or hippy with intelligence and purpose behind it is utterly terrifying
secondly transformations would have more options than just those, why not turn yourself into an animate titanium construct using a combination of earth magic to fabricate and control your body as well as fire and electrical magic to reforge and weld yourself on the spot
>not playing neutral good male human fighter in every game
GOD TIER
>righteous knight who is so righteous he can do righteous things
SHIT TIER
>lol i learned about paladins from warcraft 3 so i'm basically a cleric. also i'm a zealot smite the heathens :^)
I like my paladins portrayed as inquisition/secret police, not as battle nuns from a daytime TV show.
I know it doesn't fir the "lawful good moron" archetype, but it is what it is. Judge Dredd will forever be my model paladin.
Couldn't that technically be possible in Warcraft? We already have one example of it.
Of course, said Paladin would be in constant agony because of how the Light affects the Forsaken.
Lawful good does not mean that you follow law to the letter in all circumstances. In fact, a lawful good paladin should always veer on the side of good should a dilemma between law and good arise.
A lawful good paladin will honor all laws that are fair and just, but will not abide by laws that exist purely for someone's gain (or someone else's suffering). For example, if the paladin is faced with a village where the duke collects exorbitant taxes from the people living there, he will not stand by and watch the people starve just because taxation is a lawful institution.
Kinda sorta sounds like a wow death knights specced in unholy God knows how Blizzard has fucked it up now but last I played
>ghoul pet with its own abilities and alot of yours interact with it
>can transform it into giant abom Ination to tank and take damage
>better use of army of the dead which summons like 10 more ghouls to rip and tear
>endgame spells give you the ability to copy a spell and use it for yourself like paladin lay on hands
>diseases and small heals from them out the ass
a man who loses his weapon during battle due to his own incompetences deserves no more mercy than a man who misses a blow or opens his defense
however if it was due to outside influence in an honorable duel he lost it the lawful good wizard would allow him to recover it
Thats one thing pillars of eternity got right. You pick a god/order and if you dont abide by the creeds of that order in the dialogue you lose some of your powers
They're always overpowered against undead but fucking useless outside of undead areas, plus I prefer being a mage.
Death knights in wrath of the lich king were magical
>play blood knight
>just doing random quests
>enemy faction drops out of the sky and tries to punk me
>end the gank with more health than i started
This I just want to tame beasts and have my own beast army any good games out there that let me do such even if it is just one beast pet
Paladins always have the best looking armor.
It is dishonorable to strike a man who is unarmed, even if that state came to be due to their own ineptitude.
but he still has certain limitations due to his lawful nature
he wouldn't resort to certain chaotic actions such as theft, even if doing so would help the most people
neutral good has no such restrictions, the only factor is willpower
and while granted there are many who are lazy neutral good, the few that are dedicated to it rise above all others
I'd kill for that but Im talking about what most games usually do if there's a game that lets me transform into tons of things for any given situation please Holy shit share it share it
Thematically, Unholy is still just as cool. Even more pet-focused, and they inflict enemies with a disease that gives them horrible boils full of pus and filth that you can burst.
Sounds neat. I stopped playing WoW before WotLK was out.
The only thing missing that I would like on that is robes and staff instead of heavy armor and melee weapons
I liked death knights who tried that
I liked putting insane bleeds on them, then hovering right out of their reach like a vulture while they struggled to heal it off
feral finally being viable in pvp was fun
As a rule of thumb, I always play mage when given the option to do so. Except in Mass Effect, for some reason.
what if he threw away his sword right before the deciding strike to force you to allow him to recuperate?
honor is good but it needs limits to remain as such
>not using your own fists to spread the word of God
Dark Souls
you're always undead no matter what (you can look like a living human, but it's optional and you still are undead) and you can build your character to be a paladin
also the only character in the franchise who has ever been referred to as a paladin is undead
Best man has best classes.
Play age of conan there is a fun evil necromancer class and its a free mmo.
That is not ineptitude, but a desperate attempt at deception. It would not be dishonorable to strike someone who tried that down.
Lawful Neutral is not Lawful Good.
he is still unarmed when you strike him down
Paladin is mostly about the LAWFUL part to me. The good part is easily twisted, as its so subjective, so unless your DM is made of wood he should be down with interpretations.
By his own will and in an attempt to dupe you. That's different from getting disarmed.
Mage >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all
So what type of paladin are you?
bard/jester
A good necromancer is eventually going to be a lich anyway, so I figure you might as well tie the two together.
what if the lives of thousands depended on the outcome of the duel, would you place your honor above those?
Even if the man you faced was truly evil and lost the duel by his own incompetence
depending on much of your power you retain, ghost > lich
Such a duel would certainly have the attention of my god, who would be most displeased if I took advantage of a strike of opportunity like some common thug.
a god who would place a minor act of personal honor above the lives of thousands cannot truly be called good
this is why neutral good is the best choice
Any class that allows me to make people turn on each other.
Truth, True Sight, Warhammer, Holy Tome, Sanctuary, Archaeologist, Cultists, and I suppose that leaves me with Exalted for the road ahead.
>you will never get to play as a Beast Master again
>taming creatures in now permanently associated with archers
Heironeous probably would condemn a cheap strike like that, and one of his titles is "Arch-Paladin"
Paladins don't need to be lawful good anymore.
and that's the point where I'd tell that god to go suck a dick and pick a better one
>>taming creatures in now permanently associated with archers
Fuck that. Fuck that shit. Who allowed this?
I prefer to bash the crap out of people with shields and be so defensively strong my opponents go mad with frustration. Sometimes the Paladin falls into this, sometimes not.
depends on the beast in question
something like a tame snake is still more the realm of mystics
PoE has, unironically, the best iteration of the Paladin class.
this. who /necromancer/ here?
>does no damage
>not even a smite evil
Ehhhh
