ITT: Unpopular opinions

Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be the best game of this decade.

RE6 is better than RE5, even if they're both awful games.

FFXV is bad

Micro transactions are a good thing for $60 games

Opinion? More like wishful thinking.

In that it mitigates the impact of inflation or are you just going raw contrarian?

That's not an opinion. That's a prediction.

Motion controls were never good, and still continue to be not good. Games that people cite as having "good motion controls" were still mechanically shallow and relied too hard on those controls as the main device driving gameplay. Those same games would have been served better justice by the developers making the game a more meaningful overall game experience, which with motion controls was NEVER done.

Not squid lolis, not starfox, not mario galaxy, or skyward sword. Yes I hate "fun" if the definition of fun you go by is meaninglessly shoving in gimmicks to compensate your dead creativity.

Metroid Prime 3 and pretty much any rail shooter you can think of.

This is not unpopular, this is utterly retarded.

What is Witcher 3?
Pls bitch.

Oh, I was hoping we could ignore OP's post and just have a good ol' fashioned shit flinging, shitty opinions thread.

Gyro controls are not a gimmick. They objectively improve shooter controls. For one, they let you aim while pressing face buttons. In sorry you got so caught up in the waggle meme that you can't realize this.

Prime 3 suffered from the limitations of the early wiimote pointers inaccuracy in that even at max sensitivity it was slow because it relied on touching the side of the screen to turn. It hampered the experience enormously where you thought intuitively it would be like a free moving mouse+keyboard but it was anything but. It wasnt even a similarly gimped experience, it was just awful.

IR pointer rail shooters have been standardized in the industry since the 90's and I wouldn't go so far as to call them a gimmick as much as I would anything using the Wiimote which was a poor mans version of anything you'd find at an arcade until Wiimotion+ came along.

It's still a gimmick even if you like it. I just don't like motion controls, end of story.

I'll concede that Prime 3 was awful to control at anything but max sensitivity but it was an improvement from the comparatively stiff controls of the Gamecube titles. Hell, you could even competently fight without locking on now, you can't do that in 1 or 2.

You've been reading too many YouTube comments

Yeah I'll give that Metroid prime 1 and 2 are impossible for me to go back to now, but I cant play 3 either so I'm kinda stuck never playing them again. Maybe if Dolphin can accurately play Wiimote stuff on mouse+keyboard i might try again.

It's going to be an unoptimized trainwreck.

The Metroid Prime is boring as fuck.

Stop showing me this! I can't take it anymore...
How does Bioware get away with this shit?

you mean comfy

The Nintendo Switch is unironically a landmark console release, it will become a yardstick by which future consoles are judged, will go on to have one of the best game libraries ever and will sell in the hundreds of millions of units.

Screenshot this.

it's not even a yardstick by which current consoles are judged

It is landmark in that its the first console that is portable. Hopefully it does get good games, and an upgraded version of itself, cuz I plan on buying one, one day.
