Is it just me or has Nintendo really been diminishing the relevance of the Triforce over the past decade or so?

>Twilight Princess
Link just has the Triforce from the start, no one really cares and its never really brought up.
>SS
You see it as a whole for a wish but thats it
>Breath of the Wild
Not even mentioned until the very end where its revealed that it's the power hidden inside Zelda, and she has all three pieces as well

Maybe timeline can explain it?

They're probably just not trying to overuse it.

Nintendo is trying to make recent Legend of Zelda's as little Zelda as possible so they can make new games but still rake in the big name bucks

That's good, it's better like it was in Zelda 1 and 2.

but Zelda 1 was all about the triforce.

Nintendo is filled with little cuckold faggots these days, what do you expect?

>go to Japan
>see the triforce on signs and shit
>"Hey, it's the triforce!"
>everyone just glares at me
>Well fuck you too, world.

So was Zelda 2 (you had to assemble the Triforce of Courage).

Wind Waker

Uh did you just forget how it played a major role in Link Between Worlds.

One thing I have noticed: The best Zelda games are the ones where Ganon isn't the main antagonist

In the last decade, nerd. WW was 2002.

Portables dont count, especially one that's just a straight up remake of ALttP

Not really. Only MM is a good example of that, WW has the best Ganon because his means were justified.

Yeah but it was incredibly minor. Hell, they couldn't even grant wishes yet, they were just magic plot triangles of vague power.

ALBW isn't a remake.
Nah.

>that reveal

uh I thought this was always the case according to the lore?

>Portables dont count,

Why?

>especially one that's just a straight up remake of ALttP

What game is this?

Wat. The whole game was based around collecting the pieces of the Triforce.

Its the same world though, along with its dark world counterpart. You can just go in any order you want

>Portables dont count, especially one that's just a straight up remake of ALttP

Does Switch BOTW not count then? Because that's a portable.

You haven't actually played ALBW have you.

Delete this

He's not wrong, though.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hōjō_clan

Why? Because I'm right? Get out of here cuck.

I thought she only ever had the Triforce of Wisdom.

Uh yes he is. It's the "same world"- in that it clearly takes place in continuity with LttP but the details of the over world and all the caves and dungeons are completely different.

>go to Japan
>see the triforce on signs and shit
>"EY IT'SH DA TWIFOAHCE!"
>sperg out like the austistic manchild I am
>people go about their business because they don't give a shit
>post on an italian cave drawing imageboard about shit that doesn't happen

FTFY

It borrows more from ALTTP than I'd like, but it's hardly a remake. The dungeons are completely different, and the painting mechanic changes all kinds of stuff. They're pretty different games, overall.

It's a shit game, compared to LTTP. The dungeons can't hold a candle to the old ones, and the puzzles are complete shit. It is babby's first Zelda, and the item system is the final nail in the coffin for it. No wonder they ran from that system in BOTW. The wall mechanic is just as stupid. They shouldn't have even made the game, and instead focused on an original Zelda title. It's just fucking lazy all over.

maybe they just didn't want to tell the same fucking story for the 11th time

>It's a shit game, compared to LTTP.
Not at all. The way the game integrates the painting into its puzzles and exploration is pretty seamless and usually clever. I kind of prefer getting items in dungeons, but the openness was a nice change of pace even if the game as a whole isn't very demanding.

I went into the game expecting New! Legend of Zelda and was pleasantly surprised. I wish the game had a more interesting aesthetic and borrowed less from ALTTP, but it's still my favorite game from the series in a long time. I haven't played Breath of the Wild yet. I suspect I'll have mixed feelings on it when I finally do.

The Triforce has never been super relevant.

>Portables dont count
don't trip moving those goalposts, user

>and she has all three pieces as well

Does she? I only saw it flash for a second. It's always seemed like one person could never possess the full Triforce.

They're certainly ignoring it and the three goddesses in favor of Aonuma/Fujibayashi's new Hylia goddess Mary Sue lore for the recent console games.

It did get a lot of attention in ALBW though.

WHEN DID THEY CHANGE THE NAMES OF THE GODDESSES? I thought in Twilight Princess, they were still named correctly, but the region guardians were called Eldin, Lanayru, and Faron, but now it seems those are the rectconned names?

my guess it's because they don't have the Sages in breath of the wild. But Link doesn't need the triforce of courage, many Zeldas show link never using it. what?

did you play any other zelda game?

>but now it seems those are the rectconned names?

Where did you get that?

Yes you dunkass. They were named Din, Farore, and Nayru in previous games

I've always been extremely confused why Zelda never bothered to explore the potential pantheon that OOT's creation myth seemed to leave open.

It seems like a perfectly sensible way to wrap a self-contained story up, and even institute a status quo that the rest of the games don't need to commit to. Wrath of X god that is eventually calmed, appeased, or defeated and magically everything is better. Doesn't even really need to be a god persay even just a nature guardian could pull that off.

>Ganondorf hasn't been in a Zelda game for over ten years
Defend this.

All of those are pretty benevolent though in Zelda. SS really fucked them imo because everything bad in hyrule is because of ganon/demise. That is the sole corruption of their world.

It's false.

Gimmi another one.

Despite it being cliche, Ganondorf as the good guy and Hyrule was the bad guys would be neat.

Sup Forums would say its SJW pandering though because the good guy is a tall, dark, PoC and you fight the evil empire ruled by white people

MM borrows more from OoT than ALBW does from LTTP

I miss the days when Ganondorf was just an asshole that gets corrupted and turns into a pig man.

The Zelda timeline is mostly a joke.

Cyclos shows that they can be dicks. Even then that's how the reset button gets hit. "No the Volcano Spirit isn't evil he just wanted his heart back that the wizard stole".

yeah it wouldnt be like a zelda game to overuse anything

to be fair, MM was made in like 2 years. Nintendo had more than enough time to be creative about ALBW

Ganondorf was just the human personification of the curse. But he really is gona from all timelines. I dunno how they could bring him back, but then again BotW seemed like a soft reboot given its easily 20k years after any zelda game and Ganon has become this corrupted technomagic monster

It's a fucking suite of trite to try to call something new by just taking the same formula and inverting the same players.

I'd be more interested if I heard they just picked a random Dungeons and Dragons module and make that the plot of the next game.

>They're certainly ignoring it and the three goddesses in favor of Aonuma/Fujibayashi's new Hylia goddess Mary Sue lore for the recent console games.
I think I just realized the issue that I had with Hylia. I can't stand her. She really is the new Mary Sue goddess. What sort of goddess is she even? What does she preside over?

I miss Din, Nayru, and Farore.

>Ganon has become this corrupted technomagic monster
That's because the evil Shiekas were experimenting on him in the lab at Hyrule Castle

>given its easily 20k years after any zelda game
It's only 10k, user

you don't actually assemble the triforce of courage in zelda 2
you're just placing crystals to break the barrier on the great palace so you can go get the triforce of courage from the triforce keeper
the whole game is basically a test to see if link is worthy of the triforce of courage

>remake of ALttP
you're a retard

>Go to buddhist country
>Ey yo its da nazi swastika
>people roll their eyes at the foreigner and go about their business

You just had to find it, not assemble it.

Like you said Trfarce is in SS and it's fairly important. The "problem" is it's basically just a mechanism that activates the Temple falling back in place to crush Demise.

It could be a switch or lever and it wouldn't make a difference.

In TP it's the reason for Link's transformation and there's an entire cutscene devoted to it after freeing the Lake Hylia spirit.

>Nintendo had more than enough time to be creative about ALBW
The game is pretty creative though. I just wish it wasn't so visually dull. I'd be more willing to forgive the reused ALTTP map if the game had a unique, compelling art style. But it really doesn't. It looks polished, but not interesting.

He loses corporeal form and in turn his character after TP in the child timeline and after the WW in the adult timeline so we won't see him in games taking place after them (like botw).

>convinces the world that he made oot and mm singlehandedly
>retcon the three goddesses with Original the Goddess Don't Steal

Kobawho?

im still not sure whats going on lore-wise

ganon's true form is an evil pig thing, but he can reincarnate as a human (ganondorfs). later he goes into the sacred realm and gets the triforce of power.

why do link and zelda always have the other pieces? like is there legit a timeline chart that explains this?
also yeah that scene in botw where zelda uses the full triforce to make an orb attack to seal/kill ganon is confusing.
