Why is this game so boring
Why is this game so boring
I just beat the twin princes solo. Shit was fucking intense. The thing that annoys me about these games, is, ok so if you're stuck on a boss, you can summon an npc, but sometimes CERTAIN UNKNOWN CONDITIONS must be met in order to summon, so if you didn't meet those conditions, you're fucked and have to git gud. Was stuck on twin princes for like 3 hours today. Had to finally ditch the shield bullshit and play like bloodborne: roll roll roll roll roll roll roll and such. Finally did it and now taking a break. Can't wait to be done with this meme series.
> CERTAIN UNKNOWN CONDITIONS
if you speak to every NPC that you meet, they'll tell you where to go to meet those conditions
Because its dark souls 2 design philosophy but without the paced combat
no they fucking don't you liar. they don't fucking say "hey dude, I'll join you as a summon later on this specific fight if you do X list of things". Fuck off faggot.
Bosses are to easy honestly. I,m at Irithyll and died maybe 5 times at a boss at most this shit used to be challenging.
Because Miyazaki is a hack
you're just better.
also, the games were never that punishing. if anything, the most difficult aspect are the awful controls. I get you have to commit to your decisions, but they still feel clunky, especially compared to demon's souls. everyone acts like I'm crazy when I say this, but I know for a fact DeS had much more responsive controls.
Because it tried to put Bloodborne speed into Dark Souls.
Those two really didn't mix, now we have endless rolling and heavy armor barely matters. Those are my two biggest complaints.
Bosses are way to easy, no exploration, mobs of enemies after mobs of enemies
did it? doesn't feel faster to me.
Glad more people are realizing that Dark Souls 3 is bland as fuck.
who knows, there is nothing to fucking do and I don't see a reason to replay it, I played the second game way more and that game was garbage.
Bless the music though.
>the game forces me to not be a shitter to progress
oh the horror
What, did the other thread get archived? There's no need to have a "which souls is better" thread up at all times you know
Rolling takes around half the stamina, maybe less, so you can just roll many times in a row, compared to the previous games.
Factor in heavy armor not mattering anymore(speed and defense wise, it doesn't affect much) and poise being shit, and there ya go.
IMO taking away the midroll and only having a 70% load penalty was a mistake.
I still like Dks3 but i doesn't live up to Dks1, DeS or BB.
Why does it seem like the majority of people who dislike DaS3, loved DaS2?
But DaS2 sucks.
It's easily the best Souls game though.
...
I dont care which is the best souls. Im aying dark souls 3 for the firsttime and ive beat 3 lords. The game is just dragging for me hardcore
I like DS1 more than DS2 but DS3 is clearly a huge fuck up.
>I like DS1 more than DS2
But you liked DS2. What's up with people who like 2 hating 3?
>offer help
>but make the help process convoluted as fuck
Then why have npc summoning at all then, fucking faggot.
It's better than 2 mang.
to reward players who explore the game.
how about you just don't suck
that explains it
I liked it
Me too.
What's even weirder is that Bloodborne, the game that's built around aggression, gives you counter damage if you don't time your dodges correctly, and DaS3 completely throws this out the window.
Has the same design as 2 but none of the paced combat or options
That's cool, i'll take the levels of dark souls 3 over Box souls 2
Forced linear world progression outside of one or two choices. Uninspired art direction and color schemes results in nonexistent atmosphere. Many of the levels have a nice structure/ design (Undead Settlement and Cathedral of the Deep in particular), but feature boring enemies, traps, visuals, NPCs and bosses. The world isn't interconnected and feels lifeless. They mixed the combat of Dark Souls and Bloodborne together without thinking of the consequences resulting in an unsophisticated combat system that revolves around either spamming the roll button during an enemy's ten hit combo or spamming the attack button to stunlock an opponent to death before they start their combo. This makes every build play virtually alike. After beating the game once, there really isn't anything left to experience outside of facing the Dancer early, even then, the player is eventually locked out of progress so they can't face the Twin Princes early. Ultimately, the game feels like an afterthought/contractual obligation more than a passionate project like DeS, DaS and BB did.
DaS3>BB. The nips know what's up.
I'm fine with souls having slower combat, Dks1 and DeS especially did.
Dks3 tried going for a hybrid, but felt like a watered down version of both.
there were a lot of spots of light with no clear source I noticed. did the other games have this? really odd.
nigger I explored every nook and crany. I have every estas shard, bone fragment, and all the tomes, a few maxed out weapons, etc etc. There was NEVER any faggot like, hey dude, do x amount of things and I'll join you for twin princes later. It's convoluted and shitty. Stop pretending obtuse game design is good you From cock sucker.
Because DS1 and DS2 are very similar and DS3 is not, besides the memes, copy pasted movesets and NPC fanservice.
DS1 and DS2 were slow and methodical with their limired stamina and only haveing 5-6 rolls per stamina bar while DS3 gives you 20 rolls.
Same for the world structure as seen here:
>Dark Souls 3
>shortest game
>bonfires out the ass
>filled to the brim with shitty references
>massive amounts of on-disc cut content that will be sold as DLC
>rehashed areas in an already short game
>the worst, newbie/scrub favoring invasion system yet
>no arena
>Heavy armor sucks
>Armor variety is less than DS2 BASE game, despite copypasting a 3rd of the armors from previous games
>Magic needs 2-3 ring slots just to dish out melee level damage
>Magic itself does reduced damage for PvP
>removes a shit ton of spells from the previous game
>awful scaling balance
>FP is the most awful casting management system introduced yet (worse than DeS mana, which had better regen options and more efficient)
>FP horribly ineffiecent with damage, ends up causing everyone to use 1 or 2 FP efficient spell like Great Heavy Soul Arrow
>Miracles awful, best and most viable one locked behind the final boss
>bland NG+
>awful covenants
>no blue eye orb
>blue sentinels and darkmoons the exact same
>left hand weapons no longer have full movesets
>dual wield weapons are gimmicks
>boss weapons can’t be infused
>Straight Swords and Curved Sword are as fast as daggers
>Great Weapons are slower than previous games, and costs more stamina, while barely doing more damage
>1-2 Weapons ALWAYS the best in class, no redeeming qualitys for special weapons resulting in less weapon variety than BB
>very little moveset variation
>WA are mostly shit or copypasted powerstance moves
>No backstep i-frame
>rolls have too much i-frames and cost too little stamina
>bloodborne enemies catered to R1 spam from ss and cs
>hexes gone and dark magic is shit
>shittiest dragon form
>no dragon covenant
>refined/hollow completely dominates
>DLC has so far been shit
>19 bosses, a good chunk being gimmicks
>linear level design, less branching options than DeS, DS2, and even BB
>b-but the DLC will save it!
>b-but other games have faults!
lmfao
I'm playing it for the first time and it's pretty fun. The bosses are cool, much cooler than 2 and cooler than most of the ones in 1.
It's shit, short and bad
Oh, but I don't like how clunky it is. I feel like the other games weren't so clunky. Like, if I roll wrong and get hit, then press estus once out of panic, he'll go ahead and chug it after the damage animation ends. The other games did that too, but I feel like the window for it happening was smaller, so I did it by accident less often.
Because there's absolutely no tension in the game. There's a bonfire every 10 feet and you can warp from the start so you never feel like world progression is an accomplishment or that dying is bad. The world is just uninteresting linear filler in between bosses.
Too easy tough mang.
I don't think games need to be super hard to be fun. It's challenging enough that I never get too relaxed playing, but not so hard that I want to throw the controller. Unlike 2, which was just "XD how many enemies can you beat at once XD" even for boss fights.
>but I feel like the window for it happening was smaller
Eh, DS1 literally allowed you to dupe using input queueing, it was as bad or worse
>Dark Souls 1
>no socket quest
>no imbue quest

>no more than 5 skills at a time
>no stepping out of town
>no treasure class system
>no lifesteal, no magic find
>no hostile system, no killing bots, no ears, no team PVP; carebear brawling
2 wasn't that bad honestly and even then if you killed them enough they went away which wan'st fun to me
this, and no fun allowed decisions.
Even lazy ass DS2 dev decisions like Champion covenant and no death/no bonfire run rewards added at least 1-2 extra playthroughs if you wanted to be an autist.
I mean like holy fuck just scatter a few extra red phantoms and maybe some sets in NG+.
It's such brain dead shit that can add some replay value for free.
The game being too easy isn't a problem by itself. The problem is that there's no way to increase the difficulty without gimping yourself. Even when you go into NG+, you're already overleveled for the early areas (and sometime, endgame areas).
I see people crying about linearity a lot, but it's not inherently a bad thing. I'll take linearity over le open world meme. But in terms of level design, 1>DeS>3>BB>literal shit>2
Just don't use a straightsword, apparently that makes the game impossible if i read these threads correctly
This
Are you kidding me, dark souls 3 has ebemies out tbe ass in every fucking area of the game. Its just you vs 12 enemies
AH~ this thread again...
Why didn't you bother to stop and fish enemies out 1- 3 at a time if you aren't good enough to handle a mob of enemies?
You're supposed to take your time and observe your surroundings to figure out how to best approach the situation.
In DaSIII you don't have to do this because you can literally roll through everything. Adaptability would've been better suited in III than it was in II.
Literally everything is worse than quality straight sword builds
Can confirm. You can upgrade it all the way to 200 something damage. There's no real incentives to try other weapons.
>DaS3 boss fights are boring
But no one ever wants to talk about how you beat up a bunch of handicapped fucks in DaS2 as a boss fight.
The problem is that the archives are locked until you've killed the 3 lords of cinder
The game doesn't run as well as it could, I'm sure it could be optimised a lot better
It also rehashes a lot of previous stuff from previous soulsborne games
The game's fine for one or maybe two playthroughs
but after that you've seen everything and the only thing you can really do then is mess about in pvp (which rarely works, and when it does you're either in a boring gay fight club or you're up against a gank squad
So For Honor?
>implying Prowling Magus and the Congregation isn't the best fight in Soulsborne history
>twin princess were hard
why does everyone say this, that asshole with the fire and magic weapons shit on me for days
