The final story showed that he was himself. Shadow The Hedgehog. The one in his memories and the one that tried to save Maria and Gerald. But at the end he decided to leave the past behind him and not let it control his life anymore.

I would have enjoyed it more if it had less tedious missions and such a strict scoring system. In fact, get rid of BS missions like kill all the GUN soldiers entirely and make the game literally patch based. You reach a fork in the rode and choose where to go based on what the side character requires.

His SA2 VA was the best performance the series has seen.
He was cool as fuck in SA2.

Shadow the Hedgehog was filled with unnecessary sound effects for simple hand movements and awkward dialogue which is why it holds a special place in my heart.

It being about Shadow was what made it so comical.
What needs fixing is damage sponge enemies and the unreasonable amount of paths in the game that have very little variation between them.

Also the weapons.

Some of them are fine like the GUN mecha machine gun and chicken vacuum, but nothing else was great.

I would have made the AI recognize whether Shadow was friend or foe based on his Hero and Dark score. If one score is higher than the other by a set amount of points, the faction belonging to the higher score of that stage wouldn't attack him. Not sure how to balance it for Neutral paths though since in most cases you simply get the Hero score up for Chaos Control and warp to quickly reach the goal ring.

I guess that would've mean on the hero side of the story, the GUN commander will constantly tell his troops to fire but they refuse to if you do enough hero missions in the cutscenes. Much better than what we got.

The story of the Black creatures and the TRUE purpose of the ARK could've been great, but no. We got this game. Hell, they could've confirmed the theory that Gerald created Shadow and the Biolizard due to the paintings on Angel Island.

My memory of StH is hazy, but I don't remember them directly addressing the tubes, just Eggman's fuckery.

Omega and Rouge address them as Eggman's robotic Shadow clones. So the androids from StH are the same as the ones found in Sonic Heroes.

shadow came out for the better really. his portrayal in sonic 06 showed how much he changed after the events from ow the edge.

hes working for the government now, has team dark with him, cares about others, keeps his cool and dosnt jump to conclusions, and wont give up on humanity, or himself.

he was actually written poorly in boom, its implied that shadow was just edging sonic on with that freinds make you weak thing because sonic was being a lone wolf and getting way over his head alot.

when he shows up at the end its implide that hes content and pleased that sonic figured out how to work with his team.

Omega gets the most page time in the Sonic Universe side comics, because those are more likely to focus on Team Dark. Just pick out whichever arcs seem to include them.

That's because from the very beginning she doesn't know if that's the real Shadow or if it's a robot, since Omega very clearly and specifically refers to Shadow as an Eggman robot in Team Dark's opening cutscene and Rouge very clearly takes notice of that.

I figure the most likely canon ending is Semi-Dark(Dark) with the route taking him through Iron Jungle and Central City being blown up off-screen. This is because the final story starts on the Black Comet, which is where Semi-Dark ends, Eggman is still alive so Shadow didn't kill him in Black Comet's Hero boss, and the end of Iron Jungle is when Eggman told him he was an android.

Shadow makes sense with guns, the problem is they made the story way too edgy with realistic firearms instead of giving him crazy-looking almost comically weapons like in Ratchet & Clank. The few crazy weapons like the Eggman and alien weapons fit far better than a fucking MP5 or USP Tactical.
