I prefer Rune Factory too, but these games have their appeal. Namely that the farming is way fucking better.

If they cannot make a decent Story of Seasons title (in your opinion) then what makes you think that adding dungeons would make the game any better?

Just hit winter and there's still a fuckton of crops to grow. Dammit I just wanted to woo the ladies this month.

Well I mean, the Story of Seasons games are still better than the Harvest Moon titles that came out beside the Rune Factory titles so you'd think.

Winter is actually an easier month compared to the others.
I'm using my winter to focus more on my animals and home renovations so my MC can get married.

It's slow as shit, in RF everyhting moves faster because there's more to the game than mundane farming.
Adding a layer of combat makes these games much more interesting, there's a reason to grow crops besides making money, and some action to break up the monotony

The former Rune Factory devs went under and Marvelous bought them up, so it would be the same team working on Rune Factory 5 as worked on Trio of Towns. And if they can't hit the right notes with Trio (namely: good characters, interesting things to do) then it unlikely they would be able to do good work with a potential RF5.

The game is almost designed ot be dull, none of the characters are batshit like Rune Factory anda ll they ahve to say i something along the lines of "Wow I'm so happy by sunshine and food adn haha everything is so great!"

It is after all the tool/stamina upgrades, I guess I will work in watching all the green flower events

You see the end credits when you finish farming tips #3 from your dad. Finishing that also unlocks the cellar on your farm where you can grow crops out of season.

There's probably credits again when you do get married.

I used wheat to beat Mr.D because it's easy to raise the quality of. It just happened to be 5 stars is all.
Any of the crops that can be grown in any season would work just fine. Cotton is another easy one to raise the quality of.

SoS is basically Convenience: The Game. I disagree with people railing on HM in general and comparing it to RF all the time because they experienced the latter and like things like adventuring and combat. HM/SoS were never about that.

In the sense that you farm and make friends with the villagers yes, no fighting though, it's all about building up the greatest farm ever, and dating your waifu

Just so you know, there's a program called Boop, which allows you to install cias on your 3DS directly from your PC without having to resort to Filezilla and transferring cias on your 3DS first.
All you need is open FBI, select Remote install - receive URLs over the network, and Boop the shit out of your cias from your PC.
