>What improvements do you want in the sequel?
Actual full length dungeons
I'm hoping for another MM where we get another game in the same engine in the next two years except this time it's a regular ass Zelda game
>What improvements do you want in the sequel? What direction do you want the Zelda franchise to go in?
Basically my answer here I just want more dungeons, more enemy types, instruments, and a MM-like sequel or just say fuck it and make an actual sequel.
i want to see zelda go down the toilet if they're just not even going to try to make zelda games anymore
DLC hopes, dreams, nightmares?
Make this survival adventure open world type game as the new standard for 3D Zeldas. Keep the traditional linear format for 2D Zeldas.
>your language's VA are good
It's a bit too late to say the usual.
Gotta have more dungeons.
The divine beasts were really great, but the ratio of Dungeon time to everything else is all kinds of fucked.
It takes only 2 hours to complete all four dungeons in the game(only describing the time spent in them not the time spent getting to them).
Needs 4-8 more dungeons.
Shrines are solid, but they're micro-machines. Need something more savory.
BotW is Child Timeline
Zelda herself confirmed it.
youtube.com
That's all else I'm going to say on the matter because Adulterers are the worst.
This, 2-3x longer should be the sweet spot
>What improvements do you want in the sequel
No voice acting for one.
OOT>BotW>WW>TP>(shit game here)>SS
Why not better voice acting?
>cutscene Zelda
I get that she's a developed character, but I still dislike her.
>What improvements do you want in the sequel
Less rain
I actually like french Zelda.
PSA for mechanics observations:
Damage up +++ from elixirs/food/barbarian set gives +50% damage at maximum effect
Barbarian set does not stack with elixirs/food
Ancient proficiency gives +80% damage to ancient weapons, stacks with damage from elixirs/food
Mounting a lynel gives you a constant # of free attacks which consume 0 durability and hit the same number of times regardless of weapon type
Highest damage output weapon in the game is a 5x shot savage lynel bow with +++ mighty buff hitting 5x headshots for 480 damage per volley (I tested this: It dealt exactly 480 damage to a silver lynel in 1 shot. I haven't tested how the DPS holds up on a 5x shot bow versus a 3x shot quick shot bow during slowmo, not sure if it draws 67% faster)
With full barbarian set and 3 stamina wheels, you can spin-to-win for 20 seconds (timed it), presumably with overfill +2 stamina wheels this becomes 33 seconds, but no weapon has the durability to actually hit anyone that long, it just looks funny.
Then it sounds simply like Zelda isn't for you.
I'm not certain why you even bothered playing them honestly if you dislike the most rewarding part of them. At some point you had to realize this was a core mechanic.
I want to fly. Either with a set of flight wings, or on the back of a Loftwing or back of a Ruto sidekick.
moar trap costumes
there's too much evidence for both timelines.
BOTW doesn't fit into any currently existing timeline perfectly and honestly i hope we stop with this timeline bullshit after this. there's references to things from all three timelines
You may only have the Gerudo set and the barbarian armor for female clothing, but you can always mix it with parts from other sets.
That's because she's Amelia from Wakfu.
Zelda games have never really had much continuity. People trying to fit it decisively into any timeline or claiming it contradicts a previous game are deluding themselves.
>Hyrule Historia 2 comes out
>there's a 4th timeline
...
>Inb4 Nintendo creates a fifth one to piss off Zelda fans.
Having completed all four areas now I have to ask the question: What the fuck happened to the Rito area?
It involves talking to two people, doing a quick mini game (albeit fun) and then you're off to fight the Divine Beast. The whole thing feels rushed as hell, the shrine quests are actually better than the main quest for that area.
Also reminder that the Divine Beast is named after Medli who only appears in the adult timeline.
It already did, user. That's what led to the rock bottom of the Zelda franchise, Triforce Heroes.
There's a timeline for every possible waifu in OoT.
And now that BotW is being called OoT they'll milk the shit out of it with timeline bullshit too.
That's a lot of waifus.
That's a lot of timelines.
>Paya timeline
>Zelda (eyebrows) timeline
>timeline where the Champions never died and you fug Mipha
>timeline where the Champions died and you fug Mipha
>Revali timeline
>each thigh is bigger than link's torso
>still somehow maintains thigh gap
How the fuck do gerudo skeletons work?
also I should point out:
ancient proficiency and +++ damage boost stack multiplicatively; a 55 damage ancient bladesaw deals 148 damage per hit with both
mounting a lynel always grants 5 attacks, so for example that 148 damage bladesaw deals 740 hp in damage per mounting
If each New Champion required you to complete a below-ground/classic style dungeon before they agreed to help you with the Beast, the game would have been a lot better. These dungeons could have been like series remixes of elemental temples and contained their own unique set of enemies (Like Likes, Tektites, Darknuts, Gibdos, and Wallmasters)
This also would have allowed them to cut back on the number of shrines, since each precursor dungeon could have given you stamina, while the divine beasts still give you hearts.
After you complete all four of the divine beasts, the game should also have contained a trial of champions that would basically be the tried and true enemy gauntlets with the added flavor of removing all of your gear and equipment. This should have been how you acquired the classic green tunic(s).
I'd be so mad.
Also, one more point for not being Adult Timeline:
At the end of Wind Waker, King Daphnes wished upon Triforce for Hyrule to be washed away.
In BotW we see the ruins of Lon Lon Ranch which appears to have only been destroyed during the Calamity 100 years ago, seeing as how the ruins don't look over 11000 years old.
Also the layout of the Castle Town ruins resembles the layout of TP Castle Town more than any other version of that town.
I love this game but here's my list
- dungeons. I actually liked the divine beasts and shrines but the game could have done with at least four actual big proper dungeons.
- physics/elements/objects library could be expanded
small tweaks=
-different paraglider skins
- need a button to make link tuck his legs up when paragliding for when you want to narrowly go over something
>Sidon Timeline
>Shiekah were once fully technological.
>Gerduo were once barbarians.
>Hyleans used to be cool.
>Hylea was an immortal of some type.
>Ganon was once a new thing.
>The Yiga were part of the Sheikah once.
>Guardian robots were once friendly and helpful appliances.
>The Twili were once citizens of Hyrule.
We need a game that goes all the way back to the golden tech age.
Anyone agonizing over timeline bullshit needs to stop worrying. Breath of the Wild takes place in a reality created as a result of a Triforce Wish to unify the timelines and bring an ultimate end to the threat of Demise in exchange for a final war with Ganon.
This is why Hylia is a weaksauce bitch in-game, her connection to the world has been pretty much removed as a result of this wish and the best she can do is transform the essence of courage into physical power for Link.
Reminder that Rito existing in the Child Timeline is canon.
Wouldn't be surprised if in the child timeline they were distant cousins to the Oocaa
Oh, so THAT'S why those murals were added. Guess the argument of "ritos are here, so it's child timeline" is out now.
>Save garudo town from possible camel death
>Free spirit of legendary warrior
>HEY THANKS DUDE
>STILL NO BOYS ALLOWED IN THIS TOWN THO XDDD
Holy fuck come on
Chuchu (plain, fire, ice, electric)
Keese (plain, fire, ice, electric)
Bokoblin (red, blue, black, silver, stal) - Weapon Variable
Moblin (red, blue, black, silver, stal) - Weapon Variable
Lizalfos (green, blue, black, silver, fire, ice, electric, stal) - Weapon Variable
Wizzrobe (fire, ice, lightning) - Weapon Variable
Yugi Footsoldier (normal) - Weapon Variable
Yugi Blademaster (normal)
Lynel (red, blue, black, silver) - Weapon Variable
Hinox (red, blue, black, stal)
Guardian (normal, broken, turret)
Guardian Skywatcher (normal)
Guardian Scout (I, II, III) - Weapon Variable
Octorok (blue, green, rock, mimic)
Talus (stone, igneo, frost)
Molduga (normal)
Malice (eyeball, eyeball + mouth)
Cursed (boko, moblin, lizalfos)
Dragon (fire, ice, electric)
HOW IS THIS NOT ENOUGH ENEMY VARIETY?
I mean lynels alone have over a dozen different attacks in their moveset
>need a button to make link tuck his legs up when paragliding for when you want to narrowly go over something
Also could have used tilt controls for the glider so that you could basically aim directly down to build up speed. This would make gliding over and around hills actually fun instead of really slow and irritating.
Actual stable 60fps at the stated 900p
One complaint I have is that once you start getting 3-star armor upgrades the game starts reverting back to Twilight Princess-style difficulty where everything only hits you for 1/4 a heart outside of white Lynels.
More Korok puzzle variety
Enemy arrows guess your path like octorok rocks
Remove the 2 hit death mechanic, if I take enough hearts to die in 1 hit, just kill me
No eating in inventory
More enemy types
More varied movesets for weapons e.g. a halberd not attacking like a spear
More weapons
More dungeons
I'm noticing what I want is just more the common complaints of voice acting and durability were really not an issue to me.
Zelda 1 had more enemy types than that.
Someone else mentioned it a minute ago, but the game needs some of the classic Zelda enemies.
ReDeads, like-likes(in a game with breakable shields of all things), tektites, etc are all missing.
It gets boring just seeing the same enemies over and over again in the field. Game needed more unique bosses and overworld bosses as well.
Hey man, just because the town is that thirsty doesn't mean you can expect the women to share the single drink that comes in rocking his hips.
It's been a long fucking time since we had Dark Link as a boss fight
Not with Eiji "30 FPS makes Bloom Waker HD more cinematic" Aonuma around. They should at least just buy the license for Umbra and Simplygon. Surely they could have afforded it.
If we're not counting reskins as different enemy types, then no it didn't, because so many enemies in zelda 1 were just reskins of the same AI routines
whats the difference between a lynel and an octorok in zelda 1?
I do WISH for more enemy variety, but I don't think it's a negative of the game, just something I would have personally liked.
One single Bokoblin has a larger moveset than 5 Ocarina of Time enemies thrown together.
That said, Like Likes would have been PERFECT for this game and its weapon system.
TRAINS
if they kept BoTW style but added in the trains thing from Spirit Tracks ... game of the decade
Let's not pretend we wouldn't modify item durability. It could last longer instead of forcing you to have a shop in your bag. Also, would be more faithful to classic zelda.
30 fps steady as a minimum
>The Expansion turns out to be a battle inside the mind of Link while he's in his recovery coma
>Dark Link is a scar left on his soul by Demise
>Link has to defeat him, but doing this is what erases his memory
I'd buy it.
Eating should be a heal over time that can't be stacked.
this more than anything else
>higher item durability
>a reason to use more than one weapon
choose one
Honestly, I'd actually lower the durability on some of the late game items. The Royal items you get in Hyrule Castle last for fucking ever.
I want more classic items being in the game, for example a lategame hookshot that helpa you climbing, even duirng rain, would be good.
Actual dungeons even though I'm not that disappointed about them.
Other than that, it'd be great if they keep the BoTW formula for a little while, it's clear that LoZ needs to change from time to time.
>What improvements do you want in the sequel?
Ganondorf
Trains would actually have been excellent in a map as big as this.
>gliding around
>see a train
>hitch a ride on the roof for a few minutes to speed towards your destination before using the steam from the funnel to blast off and fly away
where do i find the climbing clothes? is it at a shop?
how about:
>eating now makes you HOLD the item
>it takes a couple seconds during which you're defenseless
>enemies will knock the food out of your hands in combat
Okay fine.
A Link to the Past has more than 70 unique enemy types that fit your definition of unique.
What's BotW's excuse?
>What improvements do you want in the sequel?
Open world that's not as empty.
Less clunky controls.
More classic Zelda items, even if their weapons with durability like the boomerang and korok leaf.
There are other reasons. If you play classic zeldas, you see that each weapon is good at a certain thing. It is hard when you want to have a fuck ton of different items and still make them appreciated.
Some pieces are in chests from Shrines.
If you finish the Tarrey Town quest you can buy the whole set from a guy for 4k each piece.
>No Darknuts
>No Redeads
>No Like Likes
>No Wolfos
>No Beamos
I love the game but it's actually impossible to defend none of those enemy types appearing in the game.
Weapon durability definitely does feel like it needs rebalancing. Right now I'm more likely to avoid a fight because I can't afford to damage my weapons, rather than because I'm scared I'll take damage. That clearly shouldn't happen.
Just keep parrying and blade flurry in future games.
If enemies can then pick up the food and heal themselves with it you have a deal.
are you counting bow and sword wielding enemies as different? apply that to BotW
if not, then "soldiers" goes from 13 different enemies to 1 type
botw would have an insane number of bokoblins by that measure: all permutations of [red, blue, black, silver, stal] x [unmounted / horse / stalhorse / bear] x [every fucking weapon in the game]
Maybe he meant at a time?
As it stands now it's most efficient to use a single weapon until it breaks, that way it's easily replaced and you keep your inventory of other weapons pristine. On the other hand if you used all your items in equal parts, they will all break about the same time requiring you to scavenge 8~ weapons to replace those that were lost.
You'll break 2 or more weapons fighting a single lynel anyway.
More dungeons and meaningful story events. Going right to Ganon is cool and all but he's a shitty boss fight and I always enjoyed how Zelda games tend to pull a random plot event after you've finished up what you thought was enough.
Why is northern Hyrule so spooky?
There is absolutely NO reason for Death Mountain to not have some sort of Ancient Dodongo world boss in a little mini-caldera area way off to the side, along with younger variants peppered around everywhere. Death Mountain, the second tier cold areas, and the tropical regions all should have a unique suite of 2-3 special enemies and a unique world boss each.
would you happen to know which shrines
>different games have different selections of enemies instead of always being the same boring routine
if you want OOT go play OOT
OOT didn't have hinox, lynels, guardians, yiga clan, wizzrobes, (real) moblins, chuchus, talus, molduga, malice, dragons or even bokoblins
You can for Like Likes and redeads (not without changing them up). Like Likes would piss off the durability whiners even more. Redeads work best in claustrophobic areas. If they reacted to light like cockroaches and moved fast when startled I guess they could work in wide open spaces too.
Hinox is just a big bokoblin which is just a big moblin.
I'm sick of these variations on the same enemy. They're also the majority of all the enemies you'll fight because they're so common.
>tfw Rito now have full beaks rather than beak noses + normal mouths
Ruined their designs imo.
Reuse all Breath of the Wild assets for a Majora's Mask like game.
Put this time give them 2 years.
>find tunnels leading under Death Mountain
>see spooky cave drawings of a dinosaur throughout the caves
>eventually stumble across a shrine (an actual shrine)
>enter a sealed room and accidentally wake up the fucking enormous Ancient Dodongo that's been sleeping for centuries
I agree, beaks are a lot harder to kiss.
Redeads could've worked in the Akkala Labyrinth.
>Like Likes would piss off the durability whiners even more
So? They have a whole enemy whose gimmick is hiding and then snatching up shields and they don't bother to include it in a game where you can lose your shield. Having dangerous ones that eat clothes would've been cool.
What breath of the wild REALLY REALLY REALLY needed
and everyone here can 100% agree with this
Is more SIMPLE enemies
instead of the super complex 10x moveset AI that picks up weapons and all that jazz, the game needed very simple skulltulas, deku babas, like likes, redeads that only had one attack and weren't so complicated
because those kinds of enemies are way easier to develop and model and animate and take less resources, and this game simply doesn't have many of them, just chuchus, octoroks and keese. Like the whole environmental hazard class of enemy
>redeads on the pitch black shrine island
I guess they wanted to make them more bridlike for reasons.
Redeads would have been perfect in the pitch-black forest. Want to defend yourself? Better give up your only light source and fight in the dark.
How do I activate the shrine next to Zora's doman by the waterfall?
