dear god
that survivor island shrine area is fucking tight
Why do people ONLY post picture of themselves in the plains biome?
The beach and jungle are so fucking cool looking but its always a boring ass screenshot in tall grass.
Posting.
DLC will take place 100 years prior to the events of the base game.
Yeah, I thought I'd done basically all of the major sidequests until I found that.
Whats the best way to engage the dragons to fight them?
my hopes are the cemu version gets to 100% quick because i literally cant play a game at 720p on a 4k tv in 2017 what the fuck is nintendo doing it literally hurts my eyes
Shoot em repeatedly
I'm only about maybe 15 hours in and realized not looking stuff up is the best way to play the game.
>Get to Rito dungeon
>Do it in 5-9 minutes
How disappointing.
Glide from above and shoot them.
I hope so.
I'd like to have a Hyrule Castle that isn't a decaying husk filled with the toughest of fucks.
>Cooks in their kitchens
>Soldiers doing their routes
>Rhoam wondering what the fuck you're doing
The only annoying as shit part is you have to make your way all the back over to it if you die.
It's the worst one senpai.
...
good luck with that
it really has ruined a little bit of my fun seeing footage before playing.
i feel like the master sword would have been more impactful if i didn't spoil it for myself.
even seeing people solve puzzles sucks
I actually liked that one more than the goron one that took me 5 minutes
Tip for getting dark Link outfit.
Highest Mon exchange is a dragon horn. So go to Lake Hylia bridge, build a fire at the southern end and wait till night, basically between 20:00 and 00:30 the dragon will spawn, wait at the southern end of the bridge for like 1 min and he will swoop over you, shoot the horn and get a horn fragment.
Then go back to your fire, wait till night again and rinse repeat.
Each horn fragment is like 140 mon.
You need to do it like 20 times all up. But you make enough mon basically to get everything monster dude sells.
I did the entire Rito segment in like an hour.
Really disappointing, It was the one I was most excited for too.
All of the Divine Beasts are pretty simple.
Vah Naboris made such a cool noise when you rotated his tummy tubes.
How much stronger are the sword beams with the tunic?
How does he get more items to sell?
Links awakening DLC that adds a chests to store your items at home in hateno and has you shipwreck on a huge koholint eventide style. Only this time you can find new gear and weapons there and bring them back with you.
Eventide was a lot of fun.
i've only done the elephant and camel and so far the camel is my favorite.
is the bird that disappointing? thats what i'm going for next
to bad its going to brake in 5 hits
Every dungeon had four terminals that I solved in about four minutes, then one that had be confused for about half an hour.
I'm not sure if it was by design or if I was just being thick.
OoT, extremely overrated and graphics aged horribly just like any first gen 3D games
BotW, perfect and timeless look, even in 10 years it will still look nice just like 2D Zelda are timeless
Zora > Guredo > Goron > Rito
In terms of difficulty.
thats one of the coolest parts of them is being able to feel like you're still part of the overworld inside them when you peak outside
its cool seeing them from the outside and its all still up to scale on the inside
Link's Awakening:
>Psychosis
Ocarina of Time:
>Bilsdungsroman
Majora's Mask:
>Catharsis
Wind Waker:
>Rebirth
Twilight Princess:
>Ostracization
Skyward Sword:
>Self-Sacrifice
Breath of the Wild:
>Nihilism
WHY IS THIS ALLOWED
The power you get from Bird is easily the best though.
>gerudo
>not the hardest
thundeblight alone gives it that title
Only the character models look good, the environmental textures look like trash by today's standards. They were heavily, heavily compressed for some reason.
Only beast that took longer than 10 minutes was camel. Everything else was knocked out almost immediately upon figuring out how you could interact with them.
Shame too, I'm no genius. But the puzzles while innovative, were simplistic.
I'm super torn about BotW, it does so many things so perfectly, but messes up what I consider to be the core of the series, which is dungeons.
that helmet
h-how?
also cant wait to explore more of the desert. i moved on as soon as i got done with the camel
Eventide was so much fun.
Beat it even without using champion magic.

>BOTW was Zelda 1 reimagined
Zelda 2 reimagined when? I want to traverse a big overworld to find a palace to explore. Hyrule Castle was amazing to explore even if most of it was unnecessary
>multiple entry points
>lots of secrets to find
>can storm it from the front or infiltrate from beneath
A BOTW sized world with 7 of those in it would be my dream.
god I wish I had done that area first instead of last
>climbed every mountain with no gale to help, just upgraded stamina wheel and climbers set
>once I reached hebra mountain, everything is replaced by silver variant, yet I can't wear my normal upgraded gear without spamming elixers for the cold, and with cold gear on the silvers will one-shot me
I actually think BotW will age like milk.
I love it right now, but it feels like it relies too much on a "wow" factor that retro games always lose quickly, rather than the moment-for-moment gameplay being that exciting. Plus the fact that there's so much undocumented right now adds to the feeling of discovery and exploration, which won't last long.
>Favorite weapons are polearms
>Find spear and get hyped
>It sucks
>Find Harpoon and get hyped
>It's trash
>Find Halberd and get hyped
>It's garbage
>Find LEGENDARY Trident
>It's literal shit
Why did they do this to me? Polearms are worse than fucking clubs and boomerangs!
How long until BotW HD rerelease? Hope they don't fucking outsource it like they did with TP.
The dungeons should be 2-3x longer, not not as draggy as TP's.
The game is already HD.
>Zelda 2 reimagined when?
right here
aren't halberds and spears identical though?
Yeah, but it's more marketable than calling it BotW Remastered.
10 years seems to be the industry standard for remasters.
So rito town is fucking atmospheric, the beast is conceptually the coolest and yet rivali is a piece of shit mix of mix of falco and sanic and the beast is the easiest and rivalis gale breaks the game.
What went wrong?
I've been thinking a bit of the DLC..since BotW is essentialy a call back to Zelda 1 in all forms except in 3D. Hard mode is pretty much going to be a 2nd quest alike and new story mode may be set after the true ending, who knows. I'm really excited for E3.
It will be called BotW 4K at that point.
I want a DLC where you build a ship that doubles as a living space and then you go on a voyage out in the oceans.
does the spears get any cool unique shit like the 360 analog stick twirl with the sword?
i find the 2h weapons really shitty
wouldn't we have to wait for the next nintendo console for that anyway? why would you remaster a game on the same platform it already released on?
That's (post classic) Castlevania reimagined desu.
Not sure. Haven't upgraded it. It takes two dragon parts each for just the first upgrade.
>second quest
I'm curious how they'd redo divine beasts.
I prefered climbing and chugging stamina elixirs. The rivali skill is way too OP
>Visit the Foothill Horse stable
>the horse stables music takes inspiration from Lon lon ranch music
>Kass is there, playing the Lon Lon theme / Epona's theme
>accidentally bump into Kass running out of the building, spill Hylian spaghetti everwhere
This fucking game. Just when I think they can't really throw anything else at me, the feels hit.
I understand if you don't like BotW, but it really is a love letter to the series.
In what way? It would just confuse people because the original was already in HD.
A Game of the Year edition seems likely if they're going to do any more DLC.
>Major Test of Strength
>Reward is a Knight's Halberd
Fuck youuuuuu
i feel like all the zones should have had a beast to it.
revali has both terrible writing and voice acting
theres a lack of quests to do in the area, hebra mountains are totally barren
the questline to reach the beast is absurdly short. Instead of trekking to the mountains for some reason and solving puzzles, you do an archery course with a 3 minute timer even though it can be completed in literally 5 seconds
the beast itself is fine, anyone hating on it is wrong, and rito village has great atmosphere and music and the ability is the best in the game, but holy fuck did they drop the ball on the questline
What was wrong with TP. It certainly was better than WW HD. You could actually play with the Pro Controller bc the map woulde display on the screen if you wanted. WW forced you to use the fucking gamepad by removing the Map from the screen, meaning that you couldn't sail or solve a dungeon without pausing the game every few seconds.
Their charge unleashes an outrageously fast flurry, sadly it's a charge instead of a sustained like other 2Hs.
I managed to get the memory of the crying scene from the trailer. Honestly I found it very sad. Poor Zelda.
>When you see a Hylian not making literally thousands of rupees just by climbing a rock
you have to do that quest where you take a photo of him I think.
strategically climbing a mountain and then kiting off it is too fun even if its slow
That's the one near the Rito Village/Memory, right?
I fucking laughed, the real reward was the weapons the guardian dropped
Can we all agree that aonuma redeemed himself big time with this game?
If you had told me a year ago that aonuma would produce a zelda that surpases not only oot but also lttp and zelda 1 I would probably have had a hard time believing it.
this one for sure
just needs more enemies and bosses and shit
Help every Gerudo in town. It's just like the Shiekah Heirloom but with that instead of a ball.
>polearm worse than clubs
No shit. It's like you haven't realized this game works on a weapons triangle, with boomerangs and rods thrown in.
I feel like that was their plan but they ran out of time.
Still rewarding but I want more now.
Cant go back to any oder zelda or open world game now.
Zelda raised the bar.
I don't, really. But I am curious to see what that would look like. Same with the inevitable SS remaster. I'm still mad that WW got a lot of special attention while they just did this to TP. And I'm not even that fond of TP.
its a shame the rock climbing set doesn't offer a bonus relating to climbing even faster or using less stamina.
i feel like i'm not climbing fast enough
But it didn't, it stands head to head with OOT and 1
2 handed weapons are actually the best in the game endgame because of the spin-to-win chargeup
1 handed weapons have bad damage output on the charge up but the same dps on normal hits / combos / flurry
spears have good reach but you'll knock an enemy out of range and get easily interrupted
meanwhile with spin-to-win you'll constantly stunlock enemies and be able to move towards them while attacking, and unlike spears you don't have to channel the full duration to unleash a limited number of attacks, you just start it up and twirl until out of stamina.
downside is that if you're dealing twice the dps with a 2 hander, you're consuming twice the durability
Anyone know the numbers behind the Barbarian armor attack boost? Is it just a passive elixir stat boost? I have the armors at level 3 and I'm just tearing through Lynels.
There was an interview which made it sound like he actually got really upset that after pouring his heart and soul into this series for twenty years, Ocarina of Time was still remembered by almost everyone as the best in the series.
Glad that he's probably actually achieved his goal now, or at least done well enough that nobody can say he failed.
>kill bird
>drops two raw whole birds
What? Climbing set is significantly faster than normal climbing.
and its not really worth it, as you cannot upgrade the dark link outfit
unless you wanna go full EDGE
>downside is that if you're dealing twice the dps with a 2 hander, you're consuming twice the durability
that is probably my problem. i JUST respecced to having another bar of stamina after countless hours
>went there before even knowing what champion magic was
One of the best puzzles in the game.
I think it's more there as a fun collectable than designed to optimise your strength and efficiency.
Tp itself was like a fan mod for oot. A ambitious one but still a N64 game at heart and nothing like the reveal trailer.
Almost killed my enthusiasm for zelda because it was such a letdown.
Botw though turned out even better than expected. A lot better. Like genre defining better.
So I feel like suffering through Tp was worth it because it made botw so much better in comparison.
I did Zora first and Rito second, holy fuck what a difference, it's like they didn't even try. I didn't think Revali was bad though, certainly better voice acting than all of the females. He's justified in having a chip on his shoulder, he's literally better than Link but gets sidelined and killed because muh prophecy.
1 hand + shield blocks spear and closes gap
spear pokes hammer from out of its range and kites it
hammer bats away the shield and smashes through
but where do the other weapon movesets fit into the triangle?
>rods
>boomerangs
>windripper
>leaf
>throwing spear
>master sword
Kek
>inevitable SS remaster
When will this meme die?
But the climbing gears DOES make it faster and upgrading each piece twice DOES decrease stamina usage for jumping.
More beasts means thatthe boss rush in Hyrule Castle you get if you don't do any beasts gets even longer
Sounds fucking glorious.
If he was better than Link how come he failed and Link beat the guy that killed him, as well as all the other champion-slayers? Checkmate birdfags.
