No home market, no pool of workers who ould know what a game woud look like.

The Indians I've worked with are pretty terrible programmers. They can make a product, but it's not well made at all.
I prefer that they don't infect the videogame industry.

No money = no budgets = no games = no game programmers.

Indians learn programming to make money. There's no money in learning how to program for games over there.

We can all agree that "diversity" in gaming is what you get when different people make games, not when games have special snowflake tumblr characters.
The Japanese make uniquely japanese games, so do Slavs, the Germans the French etc.

They are are not architects and designers of the code.
They are assigned to simplest tasks yet they fail at them.
They are just a disposable and cheap workforce that is directed by companies from USA or Europe.

Indians, like most Asians, have a high level of intelligence but a low level of creativity. They're raised in a society that tells the youth "work hard so you can work for Apple/Intel/Microsoft/whoever".

Contrast that with Americans, some Europeans and some Japanese. They are also intelligent but come from a society that encourages creativity as well as just raw knowledge and skill. Thus, more creative works (video games).

Furthermore there's the issue of quality of life in India. If Raj has been raised to take over his fathers job at the firm then video games would be seen as a waste of time. That family in India wants to preserve the upward social mobility they have fought for. If Raj wants to make video games he's threatening that.

The programming gets outsourced to them because they are basically legal slaves. They don't have any creativity, are dumb as rocks, and don't actually give a shit about video games besides whatever money they scrape out of selling their terrible coding.

preach it; Indians have a development / coding culture that echoes the way we operated in the west about 10-15 years ago. It's fucking horrible and totally unacceptable for today's paradigms.

To best see this, just look at some of the awful stuff they post on codeproject - functionally 'working' code, but written so horribly using outdated techniques and hacky workarounds.

Indian here, the average person here doesn't even know how to turn on a computer, making video games is impossible. Teenagers are obsessed with sports and young adults with mobile phones. No one gives a shit about computers, internet and video games.

The people working with computers usually do simple stuff like data entry, data management, etc.

The majority of Indian programmers just do it so they can have a job. They aren't actually good at what they do.

Only good post in this shit (get it) thread. Indians are very good at coding and are cheap, with a few of them having horrible code ethic that makes them seem like the engineers of the PS2. They however are creatively bankrupt. Same goes for places like Australia and maybe China.
