Switch + Controller costs as much as a new PS4 Pro

>Switch + Controller costs as much as a new PS4 Pro
>Switch barely runs at 900p, PS4 Pro supports 4K
>Switch has a single game, PS4 has like 10+

I suddenly realized I'd much rather buy a PS4Pro than a Switch. What games would you recommend? On my to-play list:

>The Last of Us
>Bloodborne
>Horizon: Zero Dawn
>Kingdom Hearts HD
>NieR: Automata
>Yakuza
Anything I missed?

Some questions:
>Can you crack it and download all the games for free?
>Can you plug in a mouse and keyboard for first person games?

Relax, shills; I'll get the zelda game in a few months when the cheap used consoles start hitting the market

Of course you shouldn't buy a console at release. You buy a console once it has a proven list of games that dilutes the cost of the hardware per game. People buying consoles at launch are fucking retarded.

That said: Do you have any other gaming systems?

>That said: Do you have any other gaming systems?
None that are really comparable

I have a workstation PC but I can pretty much only use it for indie games

>Using a single game to justify the expense of a single console
>Smug anime avatar

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Well, you could try giving the PC a $150 kick in the form of a GPU, that'd open a good library per dollar.

Otherwise, yes, go with the ps4 for now, and hold back the switch until it has a better library. But don't expect actual 4k. In games where it's possible, rather gun for 1080p/60fps, because that'll give much better results at living room scale.

Uncharted 4 is great

>Dragon Quest Heroes (a must)
>The Last Guardian
>Final Fantasy XV
>Gravity Rush 1/2
>Uncharted
>Ratchet & Clank
>World of Final Fantasy

>Well, you could try giving the PC a $150 kick in the form of a GPU, that'd open a good library per dollar.
I have a GTX 970, it's just that this is a xeon server/workstation with shit single thread performance; and no compatibility with windows

Instead of building a dedicated windows gaming box I'd rather buy a console first

Meant Dragon Quest Builders instead of Heroes

Normalfags need their Pokémon. And Japanese need their handheld gaming.

And don't forget Nintendo cultists: they ONLY play Nintendo games no matter what.

get DoAx3 my dude, it's the gift that keeps on giving

>Listing inferior products instead of just playing GOTD
Poor life choices.

Ah, right. That kind of workstation.
Go with the ps4 then. It's a modest library as far as exclusives go, but without a PC, the multiplats can carry it.

Adding some of my own research results:
>Can you crack it and download all the games for free?
Apparently you can crack the older versions but not the newer firmware, which newer games require. So in practice, I can't

>Can you plug in a mouse and keyboard for first person games?
It lets you plug them in but apparently barely any game supports it, since the game developers need to implement support for it themselves

It's been a week and the switch hasn't even sold 1 million units worldwide yet (PS4 did it in less than 24 hours, Xbone in 48 hours).

Shit's a flop. Nintendo is going to have to rush pokemon, monster hunter and youkai watch in Japan and Mario, Splatoon and Smash in the west just to match wiiu sales.

In two years maximum nintendo will drop out of the hardware business and everybody else will be playing zelda on their preferred platforms. Thanks for betatesting cucks

>It's been a week and the switch hasn't even sold 1 million units worldwide yet
Because they're all fucking sold out, stupid artificially limited supply

Get Nioh. Its amazing on PS4 Pro

Fair enough. It's one of the highest-rated as well

I'll just get Horizon, Nioh and Nier at launch and borrow The Last of Us from a friend.

You know, i've been watching some gameplay and i've tried a bunch of the previous Zelda games and i must say... I just don't get it. They are all mediocre and shallow. They do have some charm, but they are objectively not good games.

The only reason for all the good reviews is the fact that everyone who praises BotW is either

A: some faggot who grew up with the franchise and is desperate to relive their childhood and are therefore completely blinded by nostalgia or

B: Someone who got swept up in the hype and just plays along.

There can be no other explanation. I feel like an outsider, somehow nintendo is the darling of the industry when they pull more consumer unfriendly practices out of their corrupt assholes than fucking ubisoft but that doesn't matter because they used to make good games and systems in the past.

It's like those fucking japs are using ancient mind control magic on the world and i'm one of the few who is immune to their nipjew spells.

Nintendo has made the same dozen or so games over and over again for the last 20 years, and it's worked for them so far. What do you expect?

Bloodborne is an absolute masterpiece, play it first

Dragon Quest Builders
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
those are top fucking bueno quality vidya but most of the time overlooked because of how niche they are.

also
Gravity Rush 1+2
Last Guardian

If I search for ““ on geizhals I find multiple versions of the game, e.g. (german), (english) and (polish), with a different price.

If I buy the german version (cheapest), can I still play it in english? Or how does that work?

If he has tv witch 1k up motion refresh rate and feature like motionflow from sony or truemotion from lg, then they will look as smooth as 60fps, so he wont have to bother with "cinematic experience"

How can you say that but not comment on how the OP's game lineup is anything but mediocre garbage.

>opinions
get out of this thread

soulless mediocre garbage

>Horizon, Bloodborne, NieR
how about this?

>defending motion interpolation garbage
no, just no

and my “TV” is a PC monitor, because I enjoy picture quality

lol op you are pathetic for even making this bread.

>get ps4 pro
>turn on boost mode
>git bloodborn
>still get silky smooth 30 fps

it doesn't matter man. you have to be a pretty big faggot to care about one system or platform enough to make a post like this. of course this is what Sup Forums clings to. it's sad. most people have more than one platform to play games anyway. fuckking losers man

>Just to play a PS4 on the go you need to spend 2000 dollars

Goddamn that thing is expensive as FUCK

Stop being a penny pinching jew. Might as well build a pc and play exclusively f2p/pirate if you care this much about saving money

Switch is a tablet not sure how you can compare it to PS4

>Switch is a tablet
I wish it was, but it's not. It lacks all the functionality of a tablet.

It's a gameboy.

That "garbage" works for high end models.
>picture quality
Having smaller screen and feeling like picture is better by that.

Sup Forums on PS4
>Wow, I'm really tired of these watered down PCs with movies and functionality I don't use, i wish they would focus on actual games
Sup Forums on Switch
>WOW JUST VIDEO GAMES? IT'S SHIT

I'm worried because I live in germany and am afraid that if I get the english version I'll be unable to play it on a german console, but if I get the german version I'd be unable to play it in english

I'll just try it out, I guess. I only mentioned the price because it leads me to believe they might be region-locked.

Because I never leave the house; why would I care about it being a tablet?

I'm a poor student, my budget isn't infinite. I don't give a shit about brand loyalty but I can only afford one console right now

3D Zeldas have always been kinda shallow.

They are great games with often good artstyle but the setting is just not engaging.

Some mechanically less functional games like Sacrifice and Anachronox are many times more fun because they can just do what the fuck they want instead of trying to pander to casuals without imagination.

That's the difference between a stationary and a mobile device.

What games are movies?

>Because they're all fucking sold out, stupid artificially limited supply
The aren't sold out, at least not outside the US.
NES is sold out.

Just build a gayman PC

>entire console libraries in the form of emulators
>decades worth of great games
>can pirate fucking everything
>if you don't want to pirate a lot of shit goes very cheap on sale

>If I buy the german version (cheapest), can I still play it in english? Or how does that work?
On PS4 it works this way for almost any game.
Often you can also buy the UK version and play it in German.

a good pc costs 3x more than any of the consoles and they're shitting up all the threads right now

just buy a regular ps4

ff15

>I'm a poor student
if your poor dont buy shit you cant afford. if youre a student why are you gaming?

See you next month, nintenbros.

Students have free time, dipshit.
What, do you think we all just go to school, then come back home to study until sleep and rinse and repeat the whole week?

Mine costs around 500 and it has a 1070 in it lol

...

>game of the century vs 5 flavors of the month

top fucking kek

Yes and most played on pc are mobas and facebook games, so what?

It's also more expensive and has access to none of the PS-exclusives I've been wanting to play for a while now

The only games I can't play on my workstation are the ones that need DirectX 11/12 or very good hardware specs, and those aren't many

>Being able to afford one console means you should buy 0, because clearly you either want to be buying everything under the sun or nothing
Logic

>a good pc costs 3x more than any of the consoles and they're shitting up all the threads right now
More like 6x more. And it's not even high end.

This is a b8 picture and if anyone takes it seriously please end ur life. I was in that stupid fucking thread.

>In two years maximum nintendo will drop out of the hardware business and everybody else will be playing zelda on their preferred platforms. Thanks for betatesting cucks

People have been saying this for years and it has yet to happen. Hell, I have zero interest in anything Nintendo has to offer but I still heavily doubt they'll go under any time soon.

>every non-toaster PC configuration is bait on Sup Forums full of children and third world poorfags.

Dragon Quest Builders
Let it Die (it's free)
Bloodborne
Nioh
World of Final Fantasy

>beast ryzen cpu instead of perfectly capable kaby lake pentium
>5tb hdd
>gtx 1060 instead of rx 480
>paying for windows
>microsoft peripherals

nigger gtfo

those choices are all strange and the prices are wrong.

no one should be buying a 23" 1080p 60hz monitor that is that expensive. You can get a 144hz 1440 monitor for that.

it's a joke picture

like those gaming RAM comparisons

Metal Gear Solid 4

Kill yourself shitposter.
Dont ya hate em user.
Also SSD in "midrange"
100 DOLLAR SLOW RAM
50 DOLLAR CD player
100 DOLLAR win 10
80 Dollar shit tier M&KB
Its so much b8 in one pic
I can build a titan x rig with that money

>those choices are all strange
These go for quality instead of trashcan garbage, which doesn't survive a year.
>and the prices are wrong.
They are from PCpartpicker.
>no one should be buying a 23" 1080p 60hz monitor that is that expensive.
That monitor is not expensive, poorfag
$1000+ monitors are expensive.
>You can get a 144hz 1440 monitor for that.
You can get TN garbage with 16 colors for less than $100, but nobody except children and third worlders want to look every day into such crap.

>The only games I can't play on my workstation are the ones that need DirectX 11/12
>those aren't many

What? For fucking years now everything needs DX11.

I don't think PS4 exclusives are worth it considering everything you listed but Bloodborne and Yakuza is meh, and Nier is multiplat. The reality is that regardless of what you buy, you're gonna end up occupying most of your time with multiplats.

Legit opinion, if you're happy with your current PC's abilities I'd buy a Switch instead. If exclusives are what you want, Nintendo is the best company in that regard, their only problem being the lack of multiplats which is what you'd use your PC for.

Shitposter kun. kill yourself

>Also SSD in "midrange"
It's 2017, Pajeet.
SSD reached low end in first world.
>100 DOLLAR SLOW RAM
It's the fastest RAM currently in manufacturing. Overclocked RAM is a waste of money in a midrange configuration.
>50 DOLLAR CD player
>100 DOLLAR win 10
Less than 10 % of the total.
>80 Dollar shit tier M&KB
>It doesn't have RGB LEDs, it shit!

Why do you lie on the internet, lad? Switch is the best launch ever, better than ps2, 3, 4 and Wii. It's alright, you were wrong, it happens. Just walk it off my man.

K last time
You can get 2400 mhz ram for about 8 at 16gb
You can get a cd player for 20 or less and they work great you can even get a nice samsun one for 20

Lot's of parts missing and still $1200 for a pile of shit.
That's a literall Sup Forums-tier garbage PC

speccy thread

>You can get 2400 mhz ram for about 8 at 16gb
Wrong, you can get DDR-2133 factory-overclocked to 2400, if you are too stupid to change a few BIOS stettings yourself.
>You can get a cd player for 20 or less
This is not a "cd player", Pajeet. First world already has DVD and Bluray.

You forgot to mention the other hilarious components, like a wi-fi card (lol)

>Why would you need a CD player in 2017?
What people call an BDXL ODD a "CD player"?
12 year old children?
>You forgot to mention the other hilarious components, like a wi-fi card (lol)
What is so hilarious about a WiFi/Bluetooth card? It's standard in every fucking phone and laptop.

>Overclocked RAM
My favorite meme.

>What people call an BDXL ODD a "CD player"?
>12 year old children?
because the faggot I quoted called it a CD player you mongoloid.
>why complain about a wificard
because ethernet is better

ITT. Sup Forums has no fucking clue about tech and calls a Bluray drive a
>CD Player
>CD Player
>CD Player

well maybe if youre doing some shit degree like art and literature sure, but when i was in my 3rd year between group projects, study and work i had no time. sure the 4th year which was a research year gave me more time to do stuff but i woulndt be wasting the very little free time i had gaming.

semantics, a disc drive, what ever you wanna call it they're practically synonymous for all intents and purposes

are you really so autistic because someone didn't refer to your special blu-ray drive by its explicit brand, name and model number?

is BOTW on the Pro yet?

>because ethernet is better
It's 2017, Pajeet. Everything is wireless now!

>What is so hilarious about a WiFi/Bluetooth card? It's standard in every fucking phone and laptop.
Because clearly nobody needs it for a GAMING pc.

You also forgot to account for the fact that OP already has a mouse/keyboard, monitor etc

he said he was poor, if youre poor you shouldnt be buying luxury items

Ethernet is still faster, better and is less prone to interference

>study and work
Why would you work while studying? Either do one or the other or you're going to pop a vein.

>waaah, other people shouldn't spend money on things

>Because clearly nobody needs it for a GAMING pc.
Not every PC build ever is a GAYMEN PC, kiddo.

but it doesn't have Zelda which is hands down GOTY

OP here, I actually work while studying too.

I have all the time in the world since you can study for up to 11 semesters with no penalty, and I'm working part-time as a linux sysadmin for our IT infrastructure. (I work one day a week for 400 per month)

So that's like one day per week of work, plus a few days at the end of the semester actually learning whatever crap they want me to learn.

Life's good

>Ethernet is still faster, better and is less prone to interference
That's a reason to sperg out, because someone put a $30 Wifi card into a $2000 PC build?
While calling Bluray drive a "CD player".
I'm still laughing.

it does though through CEMU

He knew what I meant to, who has a BLUE ray drive on their PC, jeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

...

OP clearly mentiond already having a workstation and deciding between a dedicated gaming box and a console

>That's a reason to sperg out, because someone put a $30 Wifi card into a $2000 PC build?
>sperg out
suggesting something better is "sperging out?" holy fuck you're autistic.

>while calling a bluray drive a CD player
semantics, for all intents and purposes they're the same thing.
