Clips are rounds held together by just a stick of metal, clips aren't really used anymore, they were pretty much only used for early rifles like the Mosin Nagant, Lee-Enfield SMLE, Springfield 1903, and Cei-Rigotti.
Magazines are actually boxes that house the rounds. Pretty much every firearm now uses magazines.

Clip = just some sheet metal meant to hold ammo in position allowing for easy and fast reload of the actual magazine(be it fixed or not).
