yes.

Not really. I never got into those games. I hope you enjoy it, though.

Kiwami, no. Imported it a week before the English version was announced but didn't enjoy it as much as just playing 1+2HD. 6, yes despite the shit it's been getting. I was actually going to import it after I was done with Kiwami but they announced the localization.

Maybe I should stop being lazy and finally import Isshin. They'll probably announce a localization within a week of me importing. Seems to be the norm with these games.

What does Kiwami mean?

I already know the outcome. R.I.P. Atlus USA.

I still can't believe the prequel (starting point) was virtually ignored by the American audience. At one time, it was the most imported PS4 game, before Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.

The good news is that Persona 5 will pull in massive profits, regardless.

>1+2HD
Where do I get this? On what system?

It was an early PS3 release.

Was gonna ask the same thing. I've seen it before in Toukiden Kiwami. Just thought it was part of the name.

Oh. It's Japanese only? I can't speak Japanese.

It means extreme. So Yakuza Kiwami = Yakuza Extreme
PS3 and Wii U. Isn't subbed though.
6 is shit though.
>Game is extremely short, platiniumed under 45 hours while it takes over 100 hours to do it since Y3 (meaning Y6 has fuck ton less content)
>Story is trash, Yokoyama is a hack and ruined the series along with few characters
>Maps smaller then in Yakuza 2
>No Champion street, hotel district, Kamarucho Hills and Purgatory
>Can't buy, upgrade or equip weapons
>No training, small amount of upgrades for combat
>No save rooms, no item boxes
>Less variety in shops, Hiroshima is empty and Kamarucho has poppo and hamburgers all over the place
>New combat is very wonky and unbalanced
>Boss fights are weak and boring, they barely attack and just dodge
>No UFO catcher
>Every mini-game is dumbed down or worse
>Silky smooth 28 fps with stutters, screen tearing and horrible draw distance and pop-in
>"FREEDOM" and "SEAMLESS"* *only for those places shown in the trailer (4 of them)
>4 minute loading screen
>Only few interesting substories, rest is "oh you discovered a playspot, go talk to receptionist and sing-up for rizap!"
>"Final Kiryu chapter", most of the content in both story and side stuff is just copied from previous games, feels like they didn't give a shit about this game
>Baseball simulator is time waster to grind and unlock substories
>Snack bar chatting is time waster to grind and unlock substories
>Clan Creator is time waster to grind and unlock trophies (win 100 fucking times, lvl 99 up a guy)
Kiwami is alright aside from the fact that they replaced all the iconic tracks with dubstep. It's okay if you haven't played 0 but if you're going into it after 0 then you will be burnt out.

It means extreme.

What order should I play the Yakuza games in and what systems are they on?

Start with 5 then 3, emulate 2 then play 0 followed by 4 and then Ishin. Round it off with Kenzan and the PSP game.

4(Akiyama Only)->1->6->0(Kiryu's Part)->5->4(Everyone Else)3->2->0 (Majima's Part) is the only logical order.

Why do you have to meme me?

Source?

Why are you asking retarded questions?

Sorry it's proprietary software

Not sure if you play 0 first or last, or if you can't play some because they're not localized

Playstation Experience in December of last year lmao

PSX back in December.

youtube.com/watch?v=5xThhJ0zltU

Okay fine, I'm in a good mood. Normally I just assume the constnat barrage of that question is shitposting.

1-6 obviously play in order. 1 and 2 are on PS2 in English, so emulate them. 3-5 are on PS3. 6 is PS4.

0 can be played whenever because it's a prequel, you don't need any prior knowledge. Go ahead and start with this if you really want.

Ishin and Kenzan are Japan only and take place in feudal Japan. Very unlikely to ever get English release. Kiwami is a remake of 1 but adds a bunch of shit that wasn't in the original as well, honestly it's not that great and I still recommend just playing 1 first for the best experience. There's also HD versions of 1 and 2 but they are Japan only.

Radical.

Here's the emulation settings. Also ignore any memers who tell you to skip 3.

Do import just for the chance of it getting localized, please.

I'm going to, but it's never going to happen mate. They're going to keep using the "oh it's too Japanese nobody will understand what samurai are" excuse while at the same time half-assing Hatsune Miku localizations without subtitles. Learning Japanese is easier than learning about Japanese history according to SEGA. Only people with Japanese genes can understand a few paragraphs about Japanese history.

Yakuza 3 took so long to platinum not because of the amount of content, but the requirement to completely finish all content to platinum. 4 and onwards are absurdly more lenient on minigame completion requirements. But I haven't played 6 so you could be completely right for all I know, just 3 is a bad comparison since 4 had arguably more content and took about 2/3rds of the time to platinum.

>hype for yakuza 6
Japan here , lel

Thanks kouhhai

Start with Yakuza 0. People that started with the later games will tell you to start with some weird number like 4 or 5, but newcomers are supposed to start with 0. The wacky references aren't supposed to be references, they are supposed to be surprises that come later down the line.

Wtf? Daigo shows up in 0?

shut up whitey

>there will never be a sci-fi Yakuza game where Kiryu travels through time and prevent Daigo from making near constant mistakes and the final battle is fighting your way through a hospital to prevent Daigo's birth

It feels like 6 was more a tech demo for the eventual upcoming 7 than an actual game.

I'd play 4 before 0 only because Majima's story is tied to Saejima.

My concern is for example, if I played Metal Gear Solid V which is a prequel, I'd see many big spoilers for later games. Can Yakuza 0 be played without big spoilers (ie, if it reveals a character's secret past that is supposed to be sprung on you later)

0 is a bad start because you may not be able to adapt to 1 and 2's gameplay
It's like starting MGS with 3

So do you think there is going to be a Kiwami 2?

>Kiwami
Maybe
>6
No

Majima's story in 0 is tied with Saejima's in 4. But I think it's not really different to know one before the other. Both sides enhance the other greatly
0's substories also has references to the other games, like the young version of a certain villain later on

>mfw I will finally get a PS4 this year with Zero and Kiwis

Until then I will get back to 5 and get some LOUGE OWF ROVE

There's nothing really like that. Majima's part of 0 references a bit of his past that gets revealed in 4 like said, but none of is huge spoilers or some how lessens the impact of 4's story. Mostly 0 just has little references here and there.

If you're really that concerned though just start with 1. 1 is incredibly short, so you can easily get through it in like a week. If you like it then just keep going from there and save 0 for later.

>you may not be able to adapt to 1 and 2's gameplay

I want this "dated" meme to end. Anyone who thinks that they somehow can't play older games just because it's [current year] is just admitting they're actually retarded. 1 and 2 are playable just fine, just like how SNES games are still playable in 2017 even though we have fancy 3D games with slick controls.

Yeah but generally SNES games had, y'know, good gameplay. That's what's different in that analogy.

Nah, they're both pretty bad.

Good thing Yakuza 1 had good gameplay too. Enjoy your shitposting though.

Don't listen to anyone else, they're trolling you. Just play 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and then 0 in that order. If you want you can wait for the Kiwami release for 1 since 1 is the most dated, but they're all great and the combat gets steadily better each game so you'll have a hard time going backwards to a worse system if you start at the PS3 or 4 games.

Also the stories will be complete nonsense if you haven't played the games that were released previously.

Why the hell not? It has the best plot overall

Only concern is whether the OST remix will be ruined like 1's

I hope they remaster the all the PS3 games for the PS4 Or PC

Somehow I enjoy the receive you remix. For your sake is also pretty good. And hell I kinda like the new independence for violence too

And given the track record of this series I have absolutely no problem with that. One mediocre game for 2-3 great ones is fine by me.

I think the problems with 6 are just because they rushed it too quickly

For Whose Sake is just the faster and epic version of the OG version

Receive You has always been good I guess

Funk Goes On and Scarlet Scar is complete shit though

youtube.com/watch?v=r7FLlQGXErY

But like some other user said, it's pretty obvious that they just wanted to test the waters with some new shit they made. So I guess we can look forward to yakuza 7 or whatever new spinoff that's probably being fucking developed as we speak
