I wish I liked Half Genie Hero more than I did, it really could've used those last two levels it didn't manage to hit as stretch goals and the fetch quest stuff was even more padded out than Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse. Haven't tried hardcore mode yet though. Expansions should help flesh it out too. I'm not expecting Plague of Shadows or Specter of Torment levels of quality, I just kinda hope they aren't slapdash 2 level things that are thrown together.
Still, came out better than Mighty No 9.

Hard mode was not really good, because only hard part is passing Mermaid Falls. Once health upgrades start flowing in, it quickly becomes rather easy, especially if player is scrub and buys bikini armor. Risky fight finally got fun though.
They should have just make it Hard Boss Rush Mode, really. And I kinda wonder how much time it took them to make it. If it was done literally in two days as it should be, all is fine, but if it was in works since release, I'm afraid Risky Mode won't come around until winter.
