The Advance SP is the objective best. You literally cannot make an argument for the other game boys, because the Advance SP does everything they can do, and more.

The only argument that could possibly be made for the others is "muh grip", and "muh nostalgia".

It was, until the DS came along and offered not only DS games, but GBA games as well with a more comfortable control setup, and a better baclight. DSlite is objectively THE best Gameboy player next to the gamecube player, which can play every made gameboy cart.

SP in my opinion. It had a built in backlight, felt good in your hands, same size screen but smaller and lighter, can fold to easily fit in your pocket, sturdy, rechargable so you don't spend a fortune on batteries.

Gameboy is such an outdated platform now though, The original hardly has anything worth playing that hasn't been remade or ported already to higher platforms.

Thats pretty much it. Color improved its library with Pokemon metal gear survival kids and shantae, and then GBA took it to the enxt level. But GB itself is barely good for anything but nostalgia bias.

I bought a GBA flashcart for my Micro and it lets me play GB/GBC/GBA ROMs on it. It's pretty much the perfect Gameboy handheld now.

DS lite is the most patrician console of all time. Prove me wrong.

It may have better screens that the oDS but its gummy dpad is a downgrade from the original clicky one

It's better than the SP thanks to being a sensible size, with better buttons and a battery that won't be impossible to replace eventually. Plus you get a fucking headphone jack.

The Micro is an alright second, but you lose GB support which is a huge negative, and the screen is sometimes a little too small.

Or you could save $80 and just use a Dslite.

Meanwhile a couple of rechargeable AAs will last a decade, and there's always going to be replacements available.

My backlit screen was 30 quid, and the adapter ribbon cable was 2. Literally cheaper than buying an SP.

I have all of them but I turned my Game Boy into a synth. Still use my micro because my lanky hands can play almost all games with one hand. That and it looks sleek as fuck.

Honestly, I played most of my GBA games with fucking virtual boy instead of my GBA. At least the good SP screen fits in the old GBA with no real hassle, so it wasn't a completely wasted purchase.

Disagree, the SP with backlit screen is a larger display for GB/GBA games and the controls are better. It's lighter and better balanced than the DSLite.

DSLite is better than the Micro or original GBA though.
