what did you think of the last of us movie?
What did you think of the last of us movie?
I thought it was pretty good. I don't know how SelfDrillingSMS plans to top himself.
Probably crap
Joel is so fucking lucky goddamn
>he's still mad TLOU was a major success
Kill yourself casual
>a single shot means it's the same plot and narrative
reaching much?
The new Logan movie looks like shit.
I saw it tonight, it's pretty much wolverinekino
you should give it a chance
Why the fuck are you posting this shit here, it's nothing like The Last of Us. Go back to Sup Forums you dick
It's actually a trope/cliche by now, so the similarities are fair. It's a premise that very easily creates emotional effect on the audience.
I think this probably started with The Road.
It's literal kino. It's not really a superhero movie, but it's more like a western/drama with a superhero skin. Could have been done without the superhero schtick and it would still be a great movie.
>brutal as fuck, they used the R rating alright
>jackman playing old man in a great way
>painful to watch seizure scenes
>last 10-15 minutes quality goes downhill very fast
>kids killing bad guy with bad cgi
>evil logan kill could have been done better
>very open ending
>what will the kids do now?
>will evil corp. just continue cloning mutants?
JAKE GYLLANHAAL FOR NEXT WOLVERINE
The Fox version is way better than the Sony version.
>a super hero movie about a guy saving the day through self sacrifice and being a good person
>not just having the good guys blow up the bad guys while throwing around one liners
what are the odds
Logan and TLoU are nothing like The Road though. Logan, you have a set up for future X-Men films with diverse characters. TLoU, you have a zombie game.
Looking at the previews, I expected post-apocalyptica. I should have known that was just Mexico.
>>very open ending
thats so they can keep making x men movies now that jackman is gone dummy
4 years down the line that little 14 year old girl will be a legal woman so they can sex her up as the lead role in the biggest, schlockiest action movies since batman and robin
mexico + midwest
both, in general, are shitholes
4 years from now Dafne Keen will be 15
>diverse characters.
An all Mexican cast is not diversity.
perfectly legal in japan
>all Mexican cast
have you even seen the movie
>asking that question on a board that does nothing but shit on Sony exclusives without having played them
That movie broke my heart.
It was too much kino and realistic, especially Charles and Logan.
Fuck me they did a great job with both of those actors and characters.
Charles made me weep more than once.
All the kids were Mexicans. Every one of them were born to Mexican mothers.
yfw X-24 was just an allegory for killing off Hugh Jackman's Wolvie.
>Reminder that the X-Men cinematic universe is getting a reboot
With both Jackman and Stewart gone with the rest of the old cast and the contracts of the new cast expiring already (plus some of them mainly Jlaw being insufferable to work with) Fox has no real way forward but to start over again.
source?
it was great
some scenes weren't perfect, but they managed to create a film with real gravitas and some very beautiful, emotional moments throughout. particularly after shit starts hitting the fan. they did well to just focus on the relationship between Charles and Logan, and of course Logan and Laura, instead of having a another big ensemble cast.
it was also a good choice to not have a stinger at the end, it just felt right and gave both the movie and Jackman's character & his general participation in the franchise a good sense of closure.
The movie you fucking retard.
They have the same basic premise. A bad world in which a man excorts the last innocent soul living in it to nowhere.
>When carmack is a diagnosed sociopath and handled a bad game launch better than those "people"
>Jlaw being insufferable to work with
I am curious about this. This is the first time I have heard of this issue.
It was the best Marvel movie yet. Which is funny because it was made by Fox.
Anyone really give a fuck that Stewart announced he was done too? He is no Jackman, he could never carry a movie, let alone the entire fucking series.
>innocent soul
You clearly don't know X-23 at all
Much better than TLOU.
>let alone the entire fucking series
>"So this is what he feels like"
At first you think he means dying
>Theb you realize he's talking about finally being happy after a long shitty life
>Mfw
what was the demographic range which provided stats for this graph
It's because he already has a replacement, Wolvie hasn't.
>mfw the cross flipped into an X
that was really touching
what a perfect sendoff for jackman
That was cheesy as fuck. I literally walked out of the movie when that happened.
Id care but Macavoy is god tier.
I hope fassbender stays as well.
>Implying McCavoy is even close to a proper replacement
>Implying he will ever have the same chemistry with Fassbender as Stewart had with McAllen
>Implying he will ever have to same soft and wise demeanor
>I walked out of the movie after the last scene
am I being baited
>I literally walked out of the movie when it was over.
>I literally walked out of the movie when that happened
>end of the movie
dank meme
Eh, I thought that was more cheesy than touching. A bit too obvious a shoutout to the x-men.
I think Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are world class actors, but I think McAvoy and Fassbender had better chemistry than the two older gents.
Was I the only one who started laughing when Laura starting crying and snot was dripping out of her nose.
Because I'm pretty sure I was the only one in my theater doing that.
She insists on having her face front and center for most of the movie, and when I say her face I mean her face face not the blue one. That's why they hammer so much her self hatred in the movies, it's all an excuse so she doesn't have to wear blue because her contract requires most of her screen time to be without the makeup.
Well to be fair, by the time Stewart and McKellen had a chance to be butt buddies, they had wrinkly assholes. Fassbender and McAvoy are still ripe.
I don't care for it because basically this I don't hate western dramas or anything but I knew from the trailer that it was essentially not even gonna be a Wolverine film. Why even use a superhero IP if you are not even gonna do a superhero movie? Just do another film with Hugh Jackman instead. It's probably not a bad movie but it's just not my thing.
my standards for cheese must be pretty low
keep in mind it was a little kid who read a bunch of x-man comics who did it
Is this actually supported by any hard evidence? Not trying to disagree but really curious since she's like Taylor Swift. The internet loves her but sometimes you hear inklings about shady shit she does.
Its definitely a Wolverine movie and would not work at all without that character. These niggers are just saying that its not your typical Marvel shit.
The problem with this is you are ignoring the comics it's based on.
his sick brain
I'm the user that said that it could work without the superhero thing, and trust me when I tell you that this is the only movie to get wolverine 100% right because the R rating allows him to go really berserk shredding people to bits.
What I meant is that the plot could be adapted outside the hero thing, but the action scenes are still pretty much Wolverine as you've always wanted to see him in a movie.
don't mind me just posting the best scene from the best X-Men movie
I don't really see how much of a superhero movie it could've been, since it features Wolverine. You know, the superhero whose powers is having claws + regeneration, and he could barely regen in the movie.
The point was that he was fucking old and tired; he couldn't do the amazing stuff he did in the past. The movie is pretty much Metal Gear Solid 4: Old Wolverine.
It came across to me as Laura wanting to remember him as an X-Man. Like she never really gave up on him, and always kept believing that he still had some hero left inside him like she used to read about in the comics. I thought it was sweet.
See
absolute kino
It was cinema
>he wants another generic capeshit flick as the sendoff for one of the most iconic characters/roles in superhero movies
it's the movie wolverine always deserved, they don't pull any punches
if it's not your thing I can't argue with that but if you're at all a fan of wolverine as a character and not just as the slicey dicey knife hands guy (which even if you aren't the violence is entertaining enough) you really should see it
>4 years down the line that little 14 year old girl will be a legal woman so they can sex her up as the lead role in the biggest, schlockiest action movies since batman and robin
Isn't that basically X-23 in a nutshell? They should do Daken next.
I want to fuck Laura
Charles dying right after he said he had the best night of his life was just too damn depressing.
>that scene
>Logan dying after finally letting his walls down and feeling a moment of happiness and love with his daughter
it was all very beautiful and sad
cinemablend.com
She says she hates the makeup which is understandable but she acts like she didn't know what she signed up for.
The contract bit I reference is in almost every big names actor contract, this is why Jackman never wore Wolverines signature costume and why in Marvel films the heroes are unmasked for most of the film, also see Suicide Squad where Will Smith wears the mask for like 30 seconds.
ur wrong boyo
best capeshit ever made
>that scene near the end where the people in the future are getting killed by the Sentinels
>Erik and Charles agreeing that all those years they spent fighting were wasted
I had such mixed feelings about that.
>This was the best night in ages
>I don't deserve this
>dies when he thinks he's talking to logan
Logan is less a rip-off of The Last of Us and moreso one of Children of Men.
Logan
The year is 2029.
Mass mutant die off, war, incarceration, no more new mutations.
Small group of survivors with the genetic capacity to reinvigorate the species.
Group looks for Eden.
Need the help of a morally ambiguous rogue.
Scientific group with political ties attempts to apprehend survivors.
Smuggler dies.
Survivors live on.
Children of Men
Year is 2027.
Global infertility pandemic sweeps earth.
Pregnant woman has the genetic capacity to reintroduce fertility to people.
Group known as the Fishes running an underground railroad are looking for The Azores.
Need help of morally ambiguous rogue.
Luke overthrows Fishes to start a riot because he has political aspirations and uses the Fishes as mercenaries.
Smuggler dies.
Survivor lives on.
With small differences like USA/UK, Transigen/Fishes, X-Men/The Human Project, mutants/infertility, Eden/Azores, X-23/Kee, it's the same damn movie.
;_;7
how can they top Logan? where the fuck do they go from there?
it was such a good way to close out x-men and it feels like anything after will feel too cheap to appreciate
Deadpool 2
That's a pretty retarded stretch. We know what she was talking about.
Which one, Last of Us, or Logan?
>tfw when Charles died I thought it was just a dream of his, since Logan was young
>tfw kept waiting for him to wake up
>tfw he never woke up
Hmm, I may have judged it too much on the trailer then. I might give it a chance and have a watch if it just like what you people said. Also I'm surprised that these posts are civil instead of the memes and ad hominem that I was half-expecting. Am I in some alternate imageboard?
That kid has an adamantine skeleton; she literally can't grow up.
damn nigga that's deep. I need to stop going to these movies with chimps
Liked the movie a lot. Was very touching, and the rare action scenes were great.
8/10 would watch again
It's harder to meme unlike suicide squad's joker
>dad wants to go see the movie
>he's getting old and looks like logan
>pulled his calf on the way there and hobbles out of the theater just like logan
h-how do I interpret this
Claws only. The rest of her bones didn't get the treatment like Logan did.
They could do older Laura with Daken in Madripoor like that one arc in their comics.
Tell your dad you love him, user. You never know when you might not get another chance.
It's not a stretch, Mangold confirmed that she was actually talking about that scene in Logan.
And magically it all supports my assumption that most actors are narcissists. But they have to be to make money in that industry. Totally sucks.
>one of the only two good xmen characters is now canon dead
>only Magneto left
y
Those sunglasses look fucking retarded and ruin the shot. For once, video game surpassed movies.
According to the Doctors notes, they included the head and chest at least.
Where did this graph come from
Sup Forums is good to discuss things not videogame related.
My dick
