I don't like to play games with white people a lot anymore since a while back two close friends came out gay for me ( on different occasions ) on Xbox live. Then there is the occasional BBC joke and it just makes me not want to play.

I guess so, but they come from widely different cultures and making new friends when you are reaching your 30s is weird anyway.

I guess today's kids will be doing exactly that, though (except having cool black friends to watch youtubers with rather than play video games). I live next to a school and I'd say around 50% of the kids are black or brown. When I was a kid there was maybe one in the whole school.

I mean, it's a Sup Forums group so I know what I signed up for, but I have to deal with stuff like all the time, why would I want to deal with it when I'm just playing games with friends?
My irl group of black friends from uni are all great guys though, we go to Smash locals and regionals often and get each other into new games all the time. One of my friends got me really into the Disgaea series for example, now I'm playing all kinds of SRPGs.

No. I never did. The only console we had was Nintendo and that belonged to my mum who would buy games she liked and shared with us while all my peers had SEGAs.

Until the handhelds came out we didn't even bother with bringing vidya to class. My mate had really nice parents too so if I wanted to play games like KUNG FU CHAOS or WHACKED! or Mario Kart Double Dash, we'd go to their place.
