My whole concern with this game, aside from the shit tier animations and voice acting, was the fact that during the E3 trailer, Aloy narrated every fucking thing she did. Is that still in the game?

I could have seen Horizon as being a solid coming of age story about Aloy discovering her origins a little earlier and struggling to reconcile her creation and purpose with separating her identity from her "mother" and her creator's plan and then uniting the tribes as a necessary goal to assault the HADES core. It would have been very progressive on its own without all the forced progressive bullshit it shoved down my throat trying to play through it and do sidequests. The tone lacked subtlety especially in the sidequests where the drama felt very engineered intentionally. Fix the sidequests and turn most of them into recruitment missions basically where you can only get a good ending if you helped enough people and rallied them to unite with each other and assault HADES with you. As it is a lot of the sidequests had me rolling my eyes and the main plot was marginally better just because of Aloy's reactions to everything.
